The Problems of Contemporary Society in Movies of Kurosawa Kiyoshi

This Bc. thesis focuses on contemporary cinema work of Kurosawa Kiyoshi (born 1955), in which we may discern themes concerning social issues, especially identity loss, alienation, inability of communication etc. It dwells in the interpretation of five films (Kyua, Ōinaru Gen'ei, Karisuma, Kairo, Tōkyō Sonata), which were made within 1997 and 2008, and attempts at clarification of these problems on the basis of the artworks. Apart from this, the work describes Kurosawa's work in relation to specific genres and evaluates his film career.
Censorship practices in the literature during the Meiji period

The purpose of this study was to investigate the censorship techniques and administrative procedures employed by censors of the Meiji state (1868-1912) who were trying to carry out plans to shape literary production. Another aim was to find out roots of this "modern" censorship system that clearly evolved from the censorship system of the Tokugawa era. Special attention was given to the unofficial system of threats and pressure, and officers' attempt to create self-censorship system. In this part concrete cases were illustrated. Finally, reactions of the victims of the censorship apparatus and the impact of the system on a creation of new literary forms in relation to the powerful effect exerted on artistic growth of authors were examined in the study. The "NEET" Problem in Japanese Society

Ing. Jan Sýkora, M.A. Ph.D. Abstract This thesis deals with NEET problem (Not in Education Employment or Training) in Japanese society. In the first part of this thesis I focus on definition of the problem. I observe demographic progress and analyze basic characteristics concerning this social group through statistical data of the Japanese Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Japanese researchers. In the second part I inquire in to the matters causing this problem (causes that concern psychological factors of the individuals and causes that are related to the changes in the labour market as well as to the economic situation from the half of the nineties). In the last part of this thesis I present types of social support and measures taken to deal with this problem. I also make international comparison with other countries, in which the NEET problem was noted.
Hoshi Shin'ichi and the genre shoto shoto

This thesis "Hoshi Shin'ichi and the Genre Shto Shto" is addressed to the work of the author, who is in particular renowned for his so-called short short story production. This very genre, which I've intended to focus on with the thesis, has eventually become Hoshi's domain and he thus contributed to the treasure of both Japanese and world's literature by more than one thousand original stories, that have gained the micro-story form considerable popularity of readership as well as acknowledgement and appreciation of experts with broad range of themes, distinctive humour and contemplation on society's nature and future. In addition to abstracting the history and development, basic characteristic features and variety of both themes and genres of the microfiction form also other areas of author's beneficial activity and his personal life and background - that as if predestined him for a writer's path - can't be omitted.
Hayashi Fumiko and her novel Ukigumo

The objectvive of this work is to analyze one of the most remarkable works of modern japanese woman writer Hayashi Fumiko, classify this work in the context of modern japanese literature and observe the evolution of her style in time. It is necessary to assess this work with a respekt to her life, because the author has made this a major source of her inspiration.
A comparison of early and late works of Akutagawa Ryunosuke

A thesis comparing works from early and late period of activity of Akutagawa Ryunosuke. Representative work of early period is Jigokuhen (Hell Screen) and the representative of late works is Haguruma (Spinning Gears). Intention of this thesis is to follow and analyse the change from early works, where the author dosen't use autobiographical components, to late works purely autobiographical. To achieve goals I use biographical books about the autor and other literary works including chapters connected to Akutagawa's activities. A thesis also studies the lot of being an artist in Akutagawa's work and how his works were influenced by western authors.
Assimilation of western music in modern Japan

This bachelor thesis deals with the process of assimilation of the Western music in the Japanese society during the Meiji and Taisho periods. The introductory chapter outlines the Japanese political, social and cultural situation during the period of the initiative encounter with the Western music. The following two chapters describe the traditional forms of Japanese music and the process of gradual assimilation of Western music through practical and theoretical education and various institutions and associations. The fourth chapter deals with the state of integration of Western music into the Japanese cultural milieu in the years following the First World War. The closing part sums up the process of integration of Western music into Japanese culture.

V bakalárskej práci "Choroba Minamata" sa zaoberám rozborom incidentu zamorenia životného prostredia v meste Minamata a s ním súvisiaci zrod ochorenie zapríčineného otravou organickou ortuťou. Práca zhŕňa stručnú históriu spoločnosti Čisso i mesta a ich vzájomné prepojenie; popisuje udalosti, ktoré sa odohrali od objavu prvých pacientov - pátranie po príčine a zdroji choroby, dosvedčenie viny spoločnosti a jej prístup, riešenie problému a kompenzačné dohody a na záver stručne popisuje súčasný stav kauzy.
Giongo, gitaigo in the prose of Miyazawa Kenji

This thesis disserts on Japanese onomatopoia in the prosaic work of Miyazawa Kenji. Firstly, the basic information about Japanese onomatopoia in general is introduced. Then there is worked with the corpus of onomatopoia taken from the compilation Night of the Galactic Railroad in the practical part of the thesis. The meaning is explained by direct translation and syntactical and semantic categories are defined about each onomatopoia. Then the thesis focuses on typical onomatopoia of Miyazawa Kenji as a special group. The detail mening of each onomatopoia is explained. At the end findings about syntactical and semantical role of onomatopoia found in the prose of Miyazawa Kenji are summarized and the opinion of writer about the role of onomatopoia in Miyazawa Kenji's prose.
Developing characters in Óe Kenzaburó's early fiction

V historii teorie literatury se objevily zásadní otázky týkající se výzkumu literatury. Problém zkoumání literatury lze nahlížet z několika úhlů podle toho, jak se po opodstatnění jejího výzkumu ptáme. Úhel pohledu zkoumání nám vymezují, stejně jako v jakékoli jiné oblasti lidského zájmu, tázací slova Proč? Co? a Jak?. Ptejme se tedy: proč literaturu zkoumat? A je možné ji zkoumat? Je-li to možné, je nutné ji zkoumat, když bychom ji mohli pouze číst a těšit se jí, jak argumentovaly skeptické směry v historii literární teorie? V Teorii literatury se dočteme, že "nelze postulovat žádný obecný zákon, který by naplňoval smysl zkoumání literatury: čím bude obecnější, tím se bude jevit abstraktnějším, a tudíž prázdnějším, a tím více nám bude unikat konkrétní předmět uměleckého díla." 1 Můžeme k problému čtení přistupovat jako k individuálnímu a tedy individuálně řešenému. Zabýváme-li se však zkoumáním literatury v širším významu, veřejně, či dokonce profesně, pak je nutné mít pro takové počínání důvod a spatřovat za výsledkem takové činnosti smysl. Určitý "zákon", čili definici formulovat, stanovit hranici vymezující naši činnost. Např. stačí, budeme-li se domnívat, že zkoumání samo o sobě pouze jako vyšší forma "čtení" má za výsledek kvalitativně vyšší formu interpretace. Interpretace "literárních světů" je...
