Ordinarium by Karel Briza and Mistake in Interpretation in Prague's Churches

The main topic of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of Ordinarium by Karel Bříza. The part about life and work of Karel Bříza is followed by short historical-theological explanation of texts from Ordinarium Missae. The study itself consists of music component analysis. Final chapter deals with recordings of Bříza's Ordinarium from churches in Prague. The mail goal is to describe common mistakes which are frequently repeated, find out whether the organists follow prescribed accompaniment and to evaluate quality of music in Prague's churches.
Range of activities choirmaster of amateur and professional bodies

v anglickém jazyce The work focuses on the spectrum of choirmaster activities. Its main goal is to describe and characterize the way the choirmaster works with the choir, in all branches and areas of choral singing. Another goal is to compare the work of a choirmaster in different types of choirs - children's, women's, mixed; in the case of adult churches, the differences between amateur and professional work are then affected. The theoretical part deals with the organizational structure of choirs in the Czech Republic, the content of the study plan of the field of choral conducting at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, what the student should go through in their studies, what the student of choral subjects should learn and what knowledge and skills should be available in his choirmaster practice. It describes in detail conducting, singing and instrumental skills, the gradual development of the student from the role of a singer to the role of assistant choirmaster in choral practice and mastering the methodology of rehearsing compositions of various types and genres. The bachelor's thesis maps choral compositions that were presented in the world, Czech and Prague premieres in the festival "Dny soudobé hudby" (Days of contemporary music) for particular compositions the date of performance, the cast, a author's brief commentary and the name of the performers who premiered the compositions are presented. The work also describes the running of the festival, its brief history and the individual companies that participate in its preparation. The premiered compositions are complemented by a medallion of the particular composers and of their performers.
Parallel pensum of high school and musical education from the perspective of teachers and students of Gymnasium and Musical School of Capital City Prague

Thesis looks at parallel pensum of high school and musical education from the perspective of the teachers and students of Gymnasium and Musical School of Capital City Prague. Apart from the history and the foundation of musical classes, the paper mainly focuses on the research part which brings the teachers' views on for example the cooperation with their colleagues, their opinions on the appropriate school equipment, or what they themselves gained from teaching at the school. The thesis also looks at the school students and graduates. Using a survey, it attempts to find their opinions on the time demands of their studies, what they learnt at the school and how they retrospectively see their experience with it. Furthermore, the paper provides interviews with graduates, teachers and headmasters.
Falsetto As a Main Tool for Structuring Male Singing Voice An examination of singing manuals of 20. century

This master thesis will examine the role of falsetto in structuring the male singing voice. The author will examine both Czech and international literature of the 20th century concerned with pedagogy of singing with regard to the use of head register. Works that are cited in this thesis were chosen based upon their authors' common view that it is the contribution of head voice that should play major role in structuring the singing voice. Czech authors in this thesis include Antonín Mařík, Jiří Bar, Rudolf Vašek and Přemysl Kočí. Foreign authors are represented by Anthony Frisell. This thesis strives to summarize main pedagogical concepts of the above mentioned authors. Based upon citations, it lists and explains their most common views. Apart from explaining thoughts and opinions that are shared by a majority of listed authors, this thesis also mentions views and opinions that are in some way radical or significantly different from the rest of the group. These pedagocial concepts of head voice training are later compared with the current method of chest voice training. Here, the author draws not only on the literature but also on his experience from his studies of classical singing at the Prague Conservatory.
