The second part contains practical calculation of short-circuit conditions and adjustment for distance protection on selected part of 110 kV network, belonging to EO.N company. The result of the work are values needed for adjustment all distance protection in entered part of the network.
Calculation of short circuit currents in electtrical network
Reiter, Martin ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
First chapters of my bachelor´s thesis are focused on failures of networks, simple characteristics and description of their potential danger. Next chapters are thoroughly focused on the short-circuit, on the short-circuits graphs, on the circumstances which caused them and on their calculation. Next part is about the example, which is counted by the IEC 60909. First example is simple network. Second example is real distribution network 110kV. We are going to cogitate two involves for the real network and we are going to calculate symmetrical and asymmetrical short circuit current. There is summary of knowledge about the short-circuits and evaluation of the real distribution network at the end of my thesis.
Load Flow Calculation and Design of Distance Protection Relay Settings of 110 kV Overhead Line
Jasenský, Filip ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis load flow calculation and design of distance protection relay settings of 110 kV overhead line acquaints with the theory calculation of steady operation, short-circuit conditions and a proposal setting the distance protection. The theoretical part is made an example of a simple calculation to show leadership methods of calculation. The practical part is a calculation of steady operation and short-circuit conditions. Short-circuit ratios are calculated for a single operation and parallel operation of transformers in Otrokovice. Calculated using the initial shock symmetrical output from the calculation of short-circuit conditions is verified by short circuit resistance of substations. The practical section setting the distance protection ABB REL 316*4 and compensation earth faults. Calculation of steady state and short-circuit conditions designed basic operational state of the network, for which the design of a distance protection relay settings.
The calculation of the short-circuit currents and voltages of given distribution network
Vyčítal, Václav ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the transient phenomena in electric power systems especially short circuits. Than short circuit is classified to other types of faults in electric power system. The study also describes short circuit current as a function of time. However to complete a basic theory of short circuits, separate chapters are devoted to the causes of short circuits and to hazards connected with short circuit currents. The main part of this paper is devoted to the derivation of the formulas for calculation of short circuit currents using symetrical components and to calculation method presented in IEC 60909. In the end of this part there is a example of a simple network with calculation of symetrical and asymetrical short circuit current. In the last part of this thesis there is an example of 110 kV network with calculation of short circuits currents on busbars. The topology of the network and elekctrical equipment data are based on real part of a distribution network situated in the Czech Republic.
The calculation of the distance protection relay setings for HV line
Doležal, Marek ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
I divided this work into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part deals with theoretical calculation of setting for distance protection of high voltage line, possible defective states, which can appear on this network, and methods of calculating these defective states. The second part deals with application of the earlier described theory to calculation of distance protection for specified part of the network. The results of this work are all the parameters needed for setting of distance protection for one part of the network.
Testing of Distance Protection
Holub, Martin ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
Bachelor thesis Testing of Distance Protection introduces us to the issue of distance protection and its detailed principle. It deals with its individual elements and shows us different types of impedance characteristics of measuring elements. It describes a situation that occurs during a short circuit on a homogeneous line, then introduces us to a DC component compensation and discuss the effect of distance protection degrees. Among other things, it deals with the digital distance protections and settings of their characteristics. Finally the theoretical part evaluates advantages over other protections and advantages and disadvantages of distance protections themselves. Thesis will introduce the digital distance protection REL 511 from the company ABB and characterizes its settings, parameters and connection to the testing equipment OMICRON CMC 256plus, which is used to control the protection via personal computer. Description of the programs OMICRON Test Universe and CAP 540 and their settings follows. This section can serve as a manual for future operators of REL 511 protection. The work provides a suitable methodology for measuring the operating characteristics and uses this method in practice. Given the limited version of the OMICRON Test Universe, polygonal tripping characteristics are measured in the module "Distance" with the shot test. Evaluation of measurements is summarized at the end.
The analysis of parallel operation variants of supply areas 110 kV Čebín and Sokolnice
Reiter, Martin ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of parallel operation of Čebín and Sokolnice substations. Different variants of parallel operation are researched. A calculation of steady state by the iterative method is described in the theoretical part. The next part briefly mentions a short-circuit and dimensioning of conductors. The possibility of overloading of lines and transformers is discussed in the last chapter of the theoretical part. The current state of the situation is described in the practical part. Main goal of the practical part of the diploma thesis is to design a configuration capable to parallel operation. Also another configuration of supply of this area is designed. There must be no direct connection between Čebín and Sokolnice substations on 110kV level in this configuration. This configuration should eliminate a transit flow of power. Each configuration has to fulfill the requirements on the steady state and on short-circuit current capability. One of the last chapters is focused on the steps, that should by undertaken to prevent transit flow of power.
Evaluation of the posibilities of the new source connection to the power system from the voltage point of view
Wasserbauer, Vojtěch ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with examining the possibility of connecting a new source to the distribution network of 110 kV and comparing the effects on the network with the involvement of new resources into two different circuits during operation in the winter and summer. It describes a steady operation of the network and solves the conditions for adding new sources into the grid. The result of this work presents possible problems in the electricity distribution system and a proposal of their possible removal.
Calculation of distance protection relay setting for 110kV line.
Bartoš, Petr ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with both the calculation of short circuit conditions of 110 kV network in the Czech Republic. This network is divided into two parts, each of which feeds a 400/110 kV substation and the calculation is performed for different locations of a short circuit. The second part deals with the calculation of distance protection settings for one part of this network. The result of this work are the values of network parameters needed to set up distance protection, which protects our individual lines of the network.
Evaluation of connection possibility of new power plant from voltage point of view.
Macháč, Petr ; Vaculík, Petr (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with load flow calculation of electrical network 110 kV before and after connection of power plant 100 MW to network node Prostějov. This grid can be supply from two substations 400/110 kV - load flow calculation is realized for two variants of supply - the first from substation Sokolnice and the second from substation Otrokovice. Result of this thesis is evaluation of voltage conditions and conductor overload.
