Measurement and analysis of vibration and acoustic emission of railway wheel set with and without optimized dampers

The aim of this work was to propose a method for experimental verification of vibro-acoustic damping elements of the railway wheel-set. There were dealt with 4 solutions of the wheels. For these solutions, the three kinds of dynamic excitation were proposed. The measurement of acousti prressure and acoustic internsity was carried out in selected points of the wheel surounding.
Contribution to experimental research of thermo-mechanical behavior of tram wheel rubber segment

This contribution deals with press-tensile dynamic tests of tram wheel rubber segments. The evaluation of dynamic quantities was performed using hysteresis loops of force response versus loading displacement. The obtained dynamic behavior of the segments will be used for their numerical modeling in vibro-acoustic finite element tram wheel model. For research of thermo-mechanical interactions of elastomers in dynamic loadings, the inner temperatures were measured by use of single ended bead-type thermistor.
Modal analysis of rubber-damped wheel with and without the damper for SGP Graz

The aim of this work was to identify experimental eigenfrequencies, eigenmodes and loss factors for rubber-damped railway wheels with and without acoustic damper for SGP Graz. The excitation was realized by an elektrodynamic vibrator with different levels of excitation. The wheel was hung on the flexible rope. The frequency range was up to 6400Hz.
Evaluation of damping for two-component material mixture on the test samples at different temperatures

The report deals with the experimental evaluation of inner damping of a two-component mixture (NBR and NBR/BR) that is proposed for a damper production. The tests were done on two defined samples for temperature range from -40oC up to 100oC and frequency range up to 7kHz. The method of testing was proposed for the evaluation according to American standards SAE J1637 and ASTM E756-98.
Design of an experimental set up for studies of 2D unsteady aeroelastic phenomena by optical methods

The report is an introductory study in the design of optical methods for visualization of unsteady flow fields near a vibrations profile with two degrees of freedom. The report contains description of the aeroelastic model, the results of measurements of dynamic and aeroelastic characteristics of the model in the wind tunnel and design of methodology for the optical measurements including schemes of special synchronization electronic circuits and the overall device connection arrangement.
Dynamic properties of some physical models of artificial vocal folds

The report presents results from measurements of acoustic and vibratory characteristics of six originally designed artificial vocal fold prototypes made of silicon rubber and based on various aeroelastic principles. During measurements, the dynamic subglottal pressure and output acoustic pressure were recorded. Spectral analysis of the signals was performed, and where the construction permitted, the vibrations were also observed by means of videostroboscopy. For two prototypes a shape and material optimization is possible with the aid of the mathematical models developed in IT AS CR.
Analýza dynamických měření aerodynamických ložisek s naklápěcími segmenty

The aerodynamic tilting-pad bearing stand was equipped with additional sensors and transducers to measure pad tilting and vibration. Some results of the measurement and their comparison with calculated data are presented in the paper.

Two problems of contactless bearing-passive magnetic bearing and aerodynamic bearing - are presented. Numerical solution of 6 differential equations enable to study the influence both of the rotor weight and of impacts in retainer bearings on the dynamic responses of unbalanced rotor. A new method of measurement and evaluation of segment motion in aerodynamic bearings is proposed and tested.
