Janda, Martin ; Leontovyčová, Jana (referee) ; Váňová, Miroslava (advisor)
In the first part of my thesis I attend to the basic types of education, which are now proceeding in the modern Africa. I mention five basic types of education, that are adherent to African continent. In the next part of my work I focus on each single African land and lay the biggest stress on the history, presence and eventually future of the local education. In detail I deal with educational levels and history, which refers to education. There is not so much specialized literature about the educational system in Africa ant that is why I would like to create a basic brief compendium of educational system in the African lands and facilitate other people to learn more about this topic collectively in one publication. I have been cooperated with the embassies of the African lands, government departments and with clerical and international organizations.

Gender in School's Education System
Pejřimovská, Jitka ; Janošová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
In the introductory theoretical part, the thesis tries to introduce two basic views of the issue whether we are born as women and men or whether the principle of our "womanhood" and "manhood" is determined by socio - cultural impact. While the term "sex" refers rather to biological aspect, the term "gender" includes more likely the complex of social and cultural influences. Therefore one of the sub themes of this thesis deals with gender stereotypes and their difficulties. However, the central theme of the thesis is the impact of gender questions in school environment. In the wide spectrum of raised questions, the major aim of the thesis is to answer the one concerning gender differences in the popularity of school subjects among boys and girls. To provide more complex view of the issue, not only the large number of specialized publications but also the questionnaires, filled in by the students of second grade of grammar schools, are used. The results of the empirical part are consequently supplied by some gender activities which correspond with gender - sensitive education and facilitate the general improvement of atmosphere at schools.
Use of International Internet Projects in Foreign Language Learning/Teaching (with special focus on learning/teaching French as a foreign language and on the European activity eTwinning)

One of the burning problems of our higher education is an unresolved question of its diversification. The aim of the thesis was therefore to find a well-functioning foreign sector of higher education institutions of a non-university type, which could become an inspiration for us. Neighbouring Austria was dealing with the question of a non-university higher education sector (the Fachhochschulen sector) at about the same time period, in the early 1990s, as our country and therefore I chose Austrian model although their solution was completely different.

Another relevant subject is the participation of The Czech Republic in the European Educational Programmes. In the concrete chapters the ideas of language diversity and intercultural dialogue are mentioned. At the end of the work the comparative analysis is undertaken in the topical and methodical context of the programmes. The verifying of eight hypotheses defined in the frame of four criterias leads to deriving four main results of the analysis. These results are interpreted and transformed to the practical context of the instruction. The final outcome of the work are two alternatives of possible inspirative conception...
