Pupil's motivation to learn during distance learning

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of student motivation during distance learning. This form of education is becoming a common form of teaching due to the cyclical recurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the theoretical part, I focus on defining motivation as a key tool for student's learning, its distribution and selected theories. I focused mainly on the motivational theory the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and Murray's theory of needs. In addition to the general definition of motivation, I deal directly with the motivation of pupils in teaching. In the next chapter I mention the specifics of distance education and focus on its positives and negatives. And not only from the point of view of the cantors, but above all also of the pupils themselves. In addition to forms of distance learning, I also introduce readers to the most well- known platforms that enable distance learning. The practical part is devoted to a survey that I conducted last school year among my 7th graders. I analyze the obtained data on the basis of a group discussion with pupils, which took place in May last year.
