The nursing process in a patient with mental anorexia

The aim of my bachelor essay is to introduce lay readers as well as specialists acquainted with anorexia nervosa problems. The essay is divided into two parts - theoretical one and practical one. The theoretical part contains the division of food intake disorders, history, causations and symptoms of the ailment, therapy and no less important part about prevention of anorexia nervosa disease. In the introduction of the practical part I considered with thetheory of treatment and nurse process. The anamnesis and patient's classification is elaborated by M. Gordon according to it the nursing diagnosis are sought and defined. There is brief elaboration of patient's hospitalization in the conclusion. Women's awareness of the risks associated with hormonal contraception

Presence dissertatation: "Women's awareness of the risks associated with hormonal contraception" is a charakter a theoretical- empirical. The theoretical part gives an overview of hormonal contraceptives, the dangers threatening the use of hormonal contraceptives and gynecologicalcare. Empirical basis of a questionnaire survey which was carried out in selected groups of women. The aim of this dissertation: Investigate whether women have the sufficient knowledge of the risks associated with the hormonal contraceptive and determine whether gynecologists to ensure the essential prevention and whether women are satisfied with them. To find these objectives serve the questionnaire. The work reveals the respondents' knowledge of risks associated with use of hormonal contraceptives, such knowledge is the basic level. Further reveals the difference between the groups, the level of knowledge and lack of care gynecologists. This work may contribute as educational material for health workers and women using or planning to use hormonal contraceptives.
Development of self-sufficiency in patients with hydrocephalus

Thesis entitled Development of self-sufficiency in patients with hydrocephalus is divided into two parts. The first part contains a theoretical treatment of the subject. There is discussed the issue of hydrocephalus and the issue of self-sufficiency in self-care. In hydrocephalus, the author first examines in detail the anatomy of the cerebral ventricles and the creation, composition and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid. The following is a detailed discussion about the nature of the disease itself, its types, causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Finally, there is analyzed the quality of life of patients with this disease. In the area of self- sufficiency, the author focuses on the very concept of self-sufficiency, starting with a general description of this term and continuously moving towards a description of its different aspects with regard to movement and physical activity the patient, his clothing and hygiene, emptying the urine and stool and nutrition. The second part is conceived as an empirical. There are evaluated, what was found by using a questionnaire survey. The author examines whether the patients were improved after surgery in specific areas of self-sufficiency, and if so, to what extent. Areas examined are self-sufficiency in food, hygiene, emptying, walking and dressing....
Quality of life of patients following femoral neck surgery

The thesis is devoted to the issue of quality of life in connection with the neck of the femur. The work specifies the concept of quality of life, deals with the history, definitions and different approaches to this date. It also describes fracture itself, its surgical treatment and aftercare. Using a questionnaire survey was conducted of patients following femoral neck surgery, I find out whether these patients there was a change in the quality of life. Quantitative research was carried out in 2010. 34 respondents were interviewed and their responses were fed into the data evaluation.
Awareness of nurses about foreign missions

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the nurses' awareness of foreign missions. Its aim is to evaluate the interest of nurses in this type of projects depending on age, gender, education and nationality. In its theoretical part, I give details about foreign humanitarian and military missions, the role of nurses and the conditions of their participation in them, I compare both types of missions and present important humanitarian organizations. I also deal with topics that are closely related to foreign missions - transcultural nursing and some specific types of illnesses. In conclusion, I characterize the role of the Czech Republic in international development projects. The empirical part of this thesis is based on my research of the nurses' awareness of foreign missions and their interest in them, forming the basis and aim of my bachelor's thesis. Spiritual needs of patients from the nurses' point of view

The bachelor thesis deals with spiritual needs of patients and the importance of satisfying those needs. The object of the thesis was to investigate the nurses' awareness of the topic and their relationship towards this issue. The thesis follows the two traditional lines - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part firstly deals with needs in nursing generally and clarifies the basic concepts such as spirituality, religion, faith, atheism and agnosticism. Further on the notion of spiritual need is specified in more detail along with the possibilities of its satisfaction. Spiritual care of patients is explained from different perspectives of various denominations and religions. The empirical part consists of research, where by means of questionnaires the nurses' awareness and their attitudes towards the spiritual needs and their fulfilling were investigated.
Information for patients about the treatment mode after hip surgery - Total joint replacement

My bachelor thesis called "Patients' knowledge of therapeutic mode after surgery of hip joint - total endoprosthesis" deals with a problem of education of patients in case of mode after surgery on Orthopaedic department in St. Zdislava hospital in Mostiště. A theoretic part is focused on summary of findings about hip joint, causes of surgery, types of endoprosthesis, preoperative and postoperative cares, rehabilitation and potential complications after surgery of hip joint. In a practical part, there is introduced a method of research on Orthopaedic department, whose aim is to get into degree of patients' knowing, form of education and simple keeping of preventive measures. In a conclusion of my thesis the results of research and assessment of research acquisiton into practice are summarized.
Prevention thromboembolic disease in surgery

The bachelor thesis with the title "Prevention of Thromboembolic Disease" depicts a serious medical condition which may lead to death. Thromboembolic disease affects mostly patients after surgery. However, with proper prevention the risk of developing the disease decreases significantly. The main aim of the thesis is to find out who educates the patient and when (whether it is before or after the surgery). Furthermore, it focuses on nurses and their role in prevention of thromboembolic disease. It asks if nurses educate patients about the disease and the importance of prevention. In particular, it concentrates on the quality and quantity of patient education. It tries to find out whether nurses know what patient education in patients with this condition should include and whether they use any educational aids. In the empirical part of the thesis the author acquired data using a quantitative research method of a structured questionnaire. The survey included 128 respondents working in several intensive and non-intensive departments of the Královské Vinohrady University Hospital. A research survey showed that 83 (65.9%) nurses educate patients before surgery and there is no difference between length of practice and preoperative education on TEN prevention.
