Modern Japanese literature represented by Kawabata Yasunari and Oe Kenzaburo

V následující diplomové práci se budu zabývat srovnáním dvou japonských držitelů Nobelovy ceny za literaturu. Jsou jimy Kawabata Jasunari, který získal cenu v roce 1968 a óe Kenzaburó, jenž svého krajana doplnil o dvacet šest let později, v roce 1 994. Podnětem k výběru tohoto tématu byl zájem "podívat se pod pokličku" dvou mužů, spisovatelů a důležitých figur historie moderní japonské literatury, kteří přestože získali stejné ocenění, byli osobnostmi velice odlišnými, ať už svou literární orientací, tvůrčími postupy, prostředím, z něhož pocházeli, osobními prožitky, jež předurčily jejich osobní i literární život či vnímáním společnosti. Oba autoři patří bezesporu k jedněm z nejvýznamnějších japonských spisovatelů dvacátého století a to nejen proto, že získali Nobelovu cenu, ale zejména pro svůj jedinečný literární projev a osobitost. Dnes již nežijící Kawabata Jasunari ve své tvorbě, která je charakterizována melancholickou lyričností, zkombinoval krásu starého Japonska s modernistickými trendy. Byl vyznavačem tradičních japonských hodnot, krásna a Orientu a duch jeho děl dodnes zůstává opředen jistou rouškou tajemna. A comparison of selected works by Osamu Dazai and Ōe Kenzaburō

A thesis comparing the works Ningen shikkaku (No Longer Human) by Dazai Osamu and Okuretekita seinen (The Youth Who Came Late) by e Kenzabur which have similar stories and a similar theme. To compare the development of the main characters and the authors' techniques Dazai's work Omoide (Recollections) and e's work Memushiri kouchi (Pluck the Buds, Shoot the Kids) are also used. The stress is put on the comparison of the works' main characters and on the use of autobiography in the selected works.

Literary adaptation of older texts in the works of Akutagawa and Dazai

This thesis focuses on the analysis of six short stories by Rynosuke Akutagawa and Osamu Dazai: In the Grove (Yabu no naka), The Crackling Mountain (Kachikachiyama), A Story of the Head That Fell Off (Kubi ga ochita hanashi), Blue Bamboo (Chikusei), The Death of a Christian (Hkynin no shi) and Heed My Plea (Kakekomi uttae), all of which are adaptations of older texts. The aim of this thesis is to explore how the two authors alter their source materials and to discern their literary intention and what kind of effect they achieve. I also notice the place adaptations hold in the overall context of the two authors' works.

Changes of narrative technique in Kageró Nikki

My thesis Changes of Narrative Technique in Kager Nikki attempts to analyse one of the first Japanese literary diaries (nikki), of mid 10th century, and one of the so-called four great literary diaries of the Heian period (794-1185), in terms of narrative techniques used by its author, known today as "the Mother of Mitchitsuna." Introduction, containing the purpose, objectives and method of my thesis, and my introductory remarks on the theory of narration are followed by a summary of some basic biographical data of the author where it was my ambition to concisely outline her life story and to review both her literary work and legacy. This leads to another section, which strives to further organise relevant information on the diary and to define it in the context of literary history. Approximately one third through, the thesis begins to describe in more general terms the diary's structure with regard to its story build-up and the emphasis on gradual transformation of writer's prosaic style, inseparably intertwined with the diary's storyline. Subsequently, the analysis reveals some narrative techniques typically used by the writer, in an attempt to describe them and as a result to underpin their alterations in time. Grammatical forms in Japanese corresponding to infinitive in Czech

Práce sleduje tyto cíle: 1. Podat syntaktickou charakteristiku infinitivu v češtině jako slovně druhové formy plnící primární a sekundární funkce při tvorbě výpovědí a textu. 2. Vytvořit korpus příkladů užití infinitivu v českém literárním textu přeloženém do japonštiny a podat přehled překladových ekvivalentů infinitivu v japonštině, která tento gramatický jev postrádá. 3. Na základě analýzy stanovit, které syntaktické funkce infinitivu jsou v českém textu frekventní a jaké jazykové prostředky použil japonský překladatel k adekvátnímu vyjádření. 4. Vyvodit konkrétní závěry pro výklad infitinivu a jeho překladu. Práce si dává za úkol sledovat charakteristiku českého textu z hlediska překladu do jazyka japonského. Jejím těžištěm budou kapitoly, v nichž jsou uvedeny překladové ekvivalenty infinitivů, porovnávány varianty a vyhodnocovány. Celkovým cílem je přispět k hlubšímu porozumění principů a kontrastů v češtině a japonštině, k objasnění problematiky překladu v českém jazyce frekventovaného jevu.

Comparison of selected Noh dramas with the plays of William Shakespeare - with historical introduction

The Selected Noh Dramas and the Plays of William Shakespeare : Comparative Study with the Historical Introduction In the Introduction of this study the author summarizes the statements about the japanese medieval theatrical texts "youkyoku" and about Shakespeare's production in Renaissance England. The author analyzes the texts containing dialogs, monologues, recitatives and lyric tirades, to discover which means of expression the playwriters use to make the story dramatical. The author compares two couples of theatrical texts and the result of that comparision should help the "western spectarors or readers" to understand the degree and nature of "differency" in reflected stories from two completely different places in the world.

The life and films of Kitano Takeshi

V bakalářské práci Ţivot a filmy Kitana Takešiho se zabývám rozborem prvních jedenácti filmů režiséra Kitana Takešiho: Sono otoko, kjóbó ni cuki; 3-4 x džúgacu; Ano nacu, ičiban šizukana umi; Sonačine; Minná jatteru ka!; Kizzu ritán; Hana-Bi; Kikudžiró no nacu; Brother; Dolls a Zatóiči. Analýza těchto děl tvoří centrální část práce, kterou v úvodu doplňuji stručnou biografií, která čtenáře provede autorovou minulostí až do okamžiku, kdy se stává filmovým režisérem. Každému filmu se věnuji zvlášť. V syntéze v závěru práce shrnuji společné prvky jednotlivých filmů za účelem identifikovat styl, se kterým autor k filmové tvorbě přistupuje. Čtenářovi ulehčuji orientaci v problematice krátkým náhledem do procesu a zákulisí vzniku filmu a stručným uvedením do děje. Dále rozebírám postavy a porovnávám je v kontextu celé Kitanovy tvorby. Snažím se v jednotlivých filmech najít paralely mezi autorovými prožitky a motivy filmu. V neposlední řadě rozebírám technickou stránku filmu a porovnávám změny, které jsou s postupem času znatelné v autorově rukopisu. V příloze uvádím podrobná data o jednotlivých filmech.

Causes and consequences of the existence of "freeters" in Japanese society

In this thesis I focus on the causes and consequences of the existence of freeters in current Japanese society. In the first chapter I define freeters, analyze their position on the labour market and describe the historical background of their existence. In the second chapter I concentrate on major reasons of their existence from the point of view of freeters (unwillingness to work as standard employees), companies (cost-reducing) and the labour recruitment system (specific job-hunting customs). I also consider how the existence of freeters affects working conditions of standard employees. In the third chapter I analyze the main social and demographic consequences of the existence of freeters for Japanese society through statistical data of the Japanese Ministry on Labour (MLHW).

Fukuzawa Yukichi as a model intellectual of the Meiji period

Ve své práci se věnuji japonskému mysliteli 19.století Fukuzawovi Jukičimu. Uvádím jeho základní životopis a rozbor doby, ve které žil, jelikož právě ta zásadně ovlivnila jeho tvorbu. Dále se pak věnuji jeho konkrétním myšlenkám a dílům, hlavně tedy podpoře vzdělávání a samostatnosti. Rozebírám také jeho vztah k ostatním myslitelům té doby, především jeho účast v názorově spřízněné skupině Meirokuša.

Japanese adverbs of degree (measure)

This thesis disserts on Japanese adverbs of degree (measure) expressing high degree from morpohological, semantic and syntactical perspective. First, I introduce basic information about Japanese adverbs generally. About each adverb I explain the meaning by means of both direct translation and description and I define morphological type and comment on most often type of modified expresion from the semantic perspective. Then I give a corpus of example sentences with Czech translation. At each example sentence I comment on semantic type of modified expresion. At the end I resume findings about relation between meaning of an adverb and semantic type of modified expresion.
