Determination and evaluation of cosmetic ointment and design of label according to actual legislation
Trávníčková, Eva ; Bečica, Aleš (referee) ; Souralová Popelková, Miriam (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the study olephylic formulations – ointments and cream type of V/O. This thesis gives out information about production, use and properties 3 cosmetic ointments and about properties baby´s skin cream and the study of stability of these products in the presence of antioxidants - tocopherol acetate and rosemary extract. Ointments are made from hemp oil, olive oil and shea butter and chamomile extract. Each ointment is produced in two versions. Once the use of vitamin E as an antioxidant, a second is used as an antioxidant extract from rosemary. Among other important substances with positive effects on human skin include, for example, saturated fatty acids such as palmitic acid and stearic acid, unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic, linoleic, and more. Ointments are suitable for greasing dry to very dry skin hands, face and other body parts. The thesis also discusses the current legislation, which producer of cosmetics must comply, the details which must be placed on the label of a cosmetic product and it contains proposals of cosmetic labels Further thesis includes studying methods for determination of lipid characterizations were used for study of behaviour of ointments during time and during storage at different temperatures. They include iodine, acid, peroxide and saponification values. The ester value and the content of glycerol were counted.
Properties and utilization of Sea-buckthorn oil
Trávníčková, Eva ; Kučerík, Jiří (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the properties and utilization of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) and sea buckthorn oil. Sea Buckthorn oil contains wide range of substances important for health, for example vitamin E, vitamin A, carotenoids, flavonoids, sterols and essential unsaturated fatty acids. Sea Buckthorn oil is commonly used in treatment of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Its antioxidant properties are of great importance; it has UV-blocking activity and anti-aging effects. It accelerates healing of injuries and burns. In this work there are methods of thermal analysis such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG) are employed and described. These methods were used to study thermal and thermo-oxidative stability and physical-chemical behavior of the sea buckthorn oil. DSC method was used in the slow and rapid cooling regime which revealed the sensitivity of oil to the thermal history and also the fact that the resulting endotherms do not correspond to melting temperatures of sea buckthorn oil pure components. Application of TG method revealed that oxygen has only minor effect on thermo-oxidative stability; degradation of sea buckthorn oil is caused mainly by the elevated temperature.
Hedging of exchange rate risk
TRÁVNÍČKOVÁ, Eva
The diploma thesis deals with the process of exchange rate risk management, especially its part concerning its hedging by external and internal methods. The aim is to evaluate the consequences of hedging against exchange rate risk in a selected company based on analysis of several hedging options that are suitable for the company in terms of contract size, hedging costs and asset volatility. Attention is paid to the resulting difference in the cash flow resulting from different types of collateral and the recommendation of the most suitable collateral option for the company.
Bond yield curves construction and their use
TRÁVNÍČKOVÁ, Eva
The bachelor thesis "Bond yield curves and their use" deals with the issue of yield curves. It defines bonds, their risks and yield. The main topic of the bachelor thesis is the theory of yield curve and their construction. Work with regard to the definition of yield curves, shape and theoretical approaches explaining its curvature. The findings are applied to the computational structure of several yield curves of the Czech Republic's government bonds at a certain time horizon and a comparison with the yield curves of selected states.
Changes in mid-European bat fauna along the Plio/Pleistocene boundary: denus Myotis
Trávníčková, Eva ; Horáček, Ivan (advisor) ; Wagner, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis summarizes results of the detailed morphometric analysis of extensive fossil materials of the genus Myotis from the upper Pliocene deposits of Javoříčské caves (Czech Republic) and Urwista cave (Poland). Patterns of phenotype variation of particular fossil populations were analyzed with aid of uni- and multivariation techniques, compared with type series of fossil taxa described from MN15 site Gundersheim and a comparative series of extant European species. Nine fossil and 10 extant species were identified and further reexamined in terms of their phenotype variation and possible phylogenetic relations. The phenotype structure of fossil assemblages were compared to that of Gundersheim and extant European fauna: samples from Urwista cave show clear resemblances to the former one, those from Javoříčské cave exhibit certain similarities to the extant European fauna despite clear differences in variation patterns of particular species. Technical preparation, documentation by photographic material, measurement and statistical analysis is included in this work. Key words: bats, Pliocene, phenotype dynamics, community structure
Fossil record of bats in Europe: survey of primary evidence.
Trávníčková, Eva ; Horáček, Ivan (advisor) ; Benda, Petr (referee)
The present thesis provides updated survey of fossil record of bats (Mammalia, Chiroptera) in Europe. Main part of this paper is systematic overview, which is divided to individual nominal taxa and lists the details on their particular records (locality, stratigraphic position, reference). Excerption of 224 literary sources revealed 1108 primary records representing at least 200 species, 50 genera and 18 families. Essential significance of the fossil record for studies on history of European bats is emphasized. Representation of particular taxa, reliability of their fossil record and the factor influencing their appearance in the fosil record are discussed.
