User Interface for Pole-Dance Training Application
Kašparová, Nela ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
Goal of this project is making effective graphical user interface for learning pole dance. A sub-task is development of experimental application, by which the interface would be tested. The most important part of this thesis was finding out user's needs and making suitable components layout. Tests have shown that potential users are satisfied with the system. They can use this application for learning pole dance to improve outside of pole dance courses in the comfort of their homes.
Comparison of Lossy Image Compression Formats
Koláček, Ladislav ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with comparing of lossy image compression formats. The chapters describe principles of image compression and lossy formats themselves. Specifically the lossy formats JPEG, JPEG 2000, JPEG XR and WebP. The thesis includes theoretical comparison of the formats mentioned above, along with the methods used for measuring image quality. The practical part contains the results of the quality measurements of each format and description of design together with implementation of the tutorial.
3D Reconstruction of Human Body Motion (MOCAP)
Černák, František ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Šolony, Marek (advisor)
This thesis deals with object recognition in image, motion capturing and his transformation into 3D coordination system and 3D reconstruction. The problem was solved by building stereo camera system, detection of markers on a moving object and getting his position in space using triangulation. Hit rate of 95%  was achieved in marker detection at close range and accuracy of 3D reconstruction answers to reality at certain extend. The main finding of this work is that it is possible to reconstruct body motions with a pair of simple web cameras.
Effect of Noise on Image Compression
Pavlík, Jiří ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis examines effect of different types of noise on performance of significant image compression formats. Three different types of noise are examined, Gaussian noise, Gaussian noise with bigger granularity and shot noise. Two older loosy image compression formats JPEG and JPEG 2000 are compared with newer format WebP. This examination is based on results of experiments with images, which are intentionally degraded by noise, then compressed to examined formats and compared with result of experiments for original images without noise. The effect of noise on performance of comparised formats is based on image quality metric SSIM. From results of experiments, Gaussian noise with bigger granularity seems to be the least distruptive from all types of noises. The other two types of noise have much more dwindling effect on quality of images.
Information System for a Potting Shed of a Firm
Svoboda, Pavel ; Stryka, Lukáš (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
The main goal of this work is to design and implement information system for potting shed of a firm. Information system allows you to create an employees or inventory stuff, lending stuff, modification or deleting stuff. The document contents a list and short description of used technologies as HTML, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL and Apache. Description and implementation of the print lists by using exporting to PDF files, generation association rules from frequented set and importing ZIP code saved in CSV format. It also contents description of the system via UML diagrams, Use Case diagram and Class diagram. On the end of document there is a short summary of the project and discussion about innovation of the system, comparing with another systems and problems occurring during the implementation.
Geometric Measurement of 3D Models
Svoboda, Pavel ; Švub, Miroslav (referee) ; Šiler, Ondřej (advisor)
Work is discussing questions about measuring essential geometric property on model using OpenSceneGraph library. Program contains simple distance and angle measurement on model and distance and angle measurement on projection plane, which is defined by user. There is not missing usefull theory for measuring in Euclidean space, neither explanation of used methods and constructs for implementation by Open Scene Graph. For better understandig of work with OpenSceneGraph here is simply described use of OpenSceneGraph library. Manual and technical documentation is part of this work too.
Weather Forecast Mashup
Gajdušek, Radek ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
The goal of bachelor's thesis "Weather forecast - mashup" is the design and implementation of application, which gathers data from multiple sources in XML format using Silverlight technology. In addition to the description of the individual stages of application development the thesis also contains the clarifying of the term mashup, analyses Web 2.0 and defines the basic terms of weather forecast. Attention is paid to Silverlight and its comparison with the main competitor in the market. The thesis also includes the evaluation of the achieved results, together with thinking about the future possible application development.
Image Viewer for Windows Mobile
Miklósy, Jiří ; Kajan, Rudolf (referee) ; Svoboda, Pavel (advisor)
Over the past few years,  sales of pocket pc have increased dramatically due to the devices' popularity. As a result, these devices have replaced desktop computers in an increasingly wireless world. In this bachelor's thesis, I will describe different technologies that can be used with these computers. In the following chapters, I will try to explain programming in DirectX. The aim is for the reader to be familiarized with this framework, its usage, and problem-solving techniques. In the last chapter, I propose and implement image viewer, image upload, and tagging in 3D.
Braille Reader
Fabík, Jiří ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Maršík, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with image processing, specifically scanned Braille documents. It is about recognition of Braille cells, followed by transferring to plain text. Braille dots are recognized on the basis of bright and dark parts, which are created during scanning. After connection to the characters, they are converted to plain text by means of the character set. It also locates positions of possible errors to make it easier to correct the final text.
Comparison of Video Codecs
Urbánek, Pavel ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis is aimed at analysis of video codecs and their comparison. First part of this document provides reader with the basic information on encoding and decoding process including high level description of often used algorithms. It describes codecs and the process of standardization. Second part is focused on test specifications and codecs comparsion itself including conclusion. PSNR, SSim and BD-PSNR are key methods used for comparing codecs.
