Drug Prevention in Low-thershold Facilities for Children and Young People in Terms of Social Work
STRNADOVÁ, Pavlína
The submitted bachelor's thesis deals with drug prevention in low-threshold facilities for children and young people. The main goal was to find out how drug prevention is implemented and three research questions were developed to identify it. The Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with drug prevention and policy, the historical context of drug policy, low-threshold facilities and prevention in them. Qualitative research, polling methods and data analysis were chosen for the practical part. The semi-structured interview was chosen as a technique. The research set consists of 5 informers who are social workers in low-threshold facilities. Informants were approached through email communications. The results of the research were evaluated using the open-coding method. This method produced a total of 10 categories with codes and each category contains at least two or more codes. Research has found that specifically drug prevention takes many forms, but on a whole picture the devices agree. Prevention programs fall under the educational, educational and activation activities of low-threshold facilities. This activity is anchored in the Social Services Act 108/2006 Coll. Low-threshold devices are anchored in this Act under Section 62. Furthermore, it was found that drugs, addictive substances and addiction in general are the most common and popular topics among clients encountered by workers when carrying out prevention activities. This Bachelor thesis offers a glimpse into drug prevention in low-threshold facilities. The results can be used by these facilities or social workers, who carry out anti-drug prevention activities, to improve them or make them more transparent.
Ways of Teaching Combinatorics at the Secondary School and their Influence on Pupils' Solving Strategies
Strnadová, Pavlína ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Kvasz, Ladislav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with ways of teaching combinatorics at a secondary school. Specifically, I analyzed selected mathematics textbooks for secondary schools in terms of introducing concepts and operations of combinatorics and in terms of types of tasks used. I carried out interviews with six secondary school mathematics teachers and observations of their lessons in order to describe their method of teaching combinatorics. Using results of tests written by these teachers' pupils, I examined whether and how their solving strategies and errors might be influenced by their teachers' approach to teaching combinatorics. Finally, I compared my results with the existing results of mathematics education research on pupils' combinatorial reasoning. The work is divided into four chapters; the first three are theoretical (curricular documents for selected schools, analysis of textbooks on combinatorics in terms of the implementation of combinatorial concepts and operations, selected research about pupils' solving strategies and errors for combinatorial problems, methods of checking the correctness of their solutions. and the impact of ways of teaching combinatorics on pupils' performance). Chapter 4 focuses on my own research which consists of interviews with teachers, observations of lessons on combinatorics, the...
Diophantine equations
Strnadová, Pavlína ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Pilous, Derek (referee)
TITLE: Diophantine equations SUMMARY: The thesis focuses on Diophantine Equations. Linear and quadratic Diophantine Equations of two and three variables and some types of their systems are described. At the beginning of the thesis, information about Diophantus, who gave the name to the equations, is presented. Next, equations and their systems are summarized. The main section focuses on standard types of Diophantine equations and their systems and their solving strategies. Moreover, advantages and disadvantages of different solving methods and required mathematical knowledge are compared. KEYWORDS: Diophantine equations, equations, system of equations, Diophantus of Alexandria
Introducing Clinical Supervision into Health Care Organization: The Supervisees' Point of View. Case Study
Strnadová, Pavlína ; Havrdová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Brnula, Peter (referee)
Clinical supervision as a discipline supporting the quality of work in the field of helping professions has lately been introduced in healthcare services. In this context its implementation is being met with specific obstacles coming from both management and the workers tending to the clients or patients. This thesis is focused on the view of nurses working in residential facility tending primarily to children under the age of three. It contains a case study which first assesses the situation prior to starting the supervision process, mainly some aspects of organizational culture and the risks of burnout syndrome, which may reveal both possible obstacles and favourable circumstances during the implementation process. Following is a course description of the supervision meetings lasting throughout one year and the thesis is capped off by another partial research of the situation in this organization after said year focused primarily on the changes and reception of clinical supervision by its participants. Although certain foreseen obstacles such as shift work and hierarchical management have been confirmed, supervision was acknowledged for it's beneficial effect by the nurses. It brought them the opportunity to discuss, reflect on their work, relay information and ameliorate communication between both...
