GUI Library on SDL2 Platform Designed for Games
Staněk, Jan ; Grochol, David (referee) ; Záň, Drahoslav (advisor)
This thesis examines the graphical user interfaces in computer games as a medium for communication between the user and the application. Then it describes the design and implementation of generic user interface using the SDL2 platform and the OpenGL specification.
LOD for GPUEngine
Staněk, Jan ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
The representation of 3D polygonal model on several levels of available detail is a problem inherent in the process of rendering a scene. Highly-detailed models, if placed far from the camera, suffer from spatial aliasing that results from inadequate sampling of their surface, and require disproportionately large amount of time to render. Low-detailed models on the other hand reduce the visual quality of the scene when placed too near to the camera. This report delves in both the theory and the practical techniques used for solving these problems. It describes various published solutions and the principles behind them, and presents a design and an implementation of selected techniques for the GPUEngine library.
Fluoride conversion coatings on magnesium materials
Staněk, Jan ; Wasserbauer, Jaromír (referee) ; Březina, Matěj (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of corrosion protection of magnesium materials by conversion coatings. The aim is to characterize and compare properties of fluoride conversion coatings formed on wrought magnesium sample and magnesium sample prepared by powder metallurgy. Basic knowledge of pure magnesium, magnesium alloys, powder metallurgy, corrosion, and protection against it are described in the theoretical part. Recent results of corrosion protection by fluoride conversion coatings on magnesium materials are summarised in the recherché part. The experimental part is focused on preparation of fluoride conversion coatings on each type of sample by immersion in Na[BF4] molten salt and by dipping in hydrofluoric acid. Surface morphology and composition of coatings were characterized by EDS analysis and corrosion protection was evaluated by potentiodynamic measurements.
Software Tool for Investment Project Evaluation
Pokorný, Michal ; Staněk, Jan (referee) ; Režňáková, Mária (advisor)
This bachelor thesis engages in design and creation of software tool for supporting decision making in comparison of success between potential investment projects. The tool is capable of evaluating recovery of investment by using The Net present value method and Internal rate of return. The risk exposure is taken into account by the Modified net present value and modeling by Monte Carlo method implemented using Microsoft Visual Basic for Application.
Study of chemical cleaning of surfaces by LEIS method
Staněk, Jan ; Polčák, Josef (referee) ; Bábor, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deal with studying chemical etched surfaces of cadmium telluride crystals (CdTe crystals) by low-energy ion scattering spectroscopy (LEIS method). In the theoretical part, there is description of physical essence of LEIS method, including experimental arrangement of Qtac100 instrument, on which the experiment is measured. The LEIS method is also compared with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). There is summary of properties and structure of CdTe crystals including principle of X-ray detectors, which are the primary use of the crystals. In experimental part there is a description of measuring process, starting with a calibration measurement, ongoing with a chemical etching and ending with a surface analysis. There are examples of LEIS spectra with comments and interpretation including comparison with XPS data.

Quantitative analysis of matrix elements using SIMS and LEIS methods
Staněk, Jan ; Šik, Ondřej (referee) ; Bábor, Petr (advisor)
This thesis studies comparison and connection of two spectrometric methods – low energy ion scattering spektrometry (LEIS) and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). SIMS method, despite its many positive qualities, suffers of so called matrix effect, which makes quantifiaction of data very difficult. LEIS method on the other hand is immune to this effect and so it’s suitable completion of SIMS method. As a convenient sample have been chosen AlGaN samples with various concentration of gallium and aluminium. In the first part of thesis is introduced physical essence of SIMS and LEIS method, experimental details and studied samples. In second part of the thesis there’s a description of measurements and comparison of data gained by each method.
Meanings of the word populism and their changes in czech political debate 2013-2021
Staněk, Jan ; Křeček, Jan (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
The thesis "The Meanings of the Word Populism and Their Transformations in the Czech Political Debate 2013-2021" deals with how the term populism and its derivatives were portrayed in the Czech media between 2013 and 2021, with a focus on the periods of political campaigns before the elections to the Czech Chamber of Deputies. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the main concepts addressed by contemporary academic research on this phenomenon are summarized, including the theory of populism as a thin ideology, political discourse, and socio-cultural phenomenon. Furthermore, the contemporary context of the examined period is presented, including the main political actors, the course of election campaigns, and the topics that appeared in the political and media debate during the investigated period. The methodological part introduces the research method used, which is Berelson's content quantitative analysis, and outlines its basic limitations. The practical part first presents the research itself and its parameters, including predetermined hypotheses and research questions it works with. Subsequently, the results are presented, confronted with the hypotheses, and an answer to the research question is sought. Among the main findings of the practical part of the thesis is the revelation of a...
Study of the influence of alloying elements on the solubility of titanium in magnesium
Staněk, Jan ; Buchtík, Martin (referee) ; Březina, Matěj (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the study of the influence of aluminium and zinc on the solubility of titanium in magnesium. The theoretical part summarizes the basic knowledge about magnesium and magnesium alloys with a focus on systems containing aluminium, zinc and titanium. It also describes powder metallurgy technology, specifically the preparation, compaction and sintering of metal powders. The theoretical part ends with literature review on the current research of ternary and quaternary magnesium alloys. The experimental part focuses on the preparation of magnesium materials alloyed with titanium, zinc and aluminium by powder metallurgy and the basic structural and mechanical characterisation of the prepared materials. The effect of alloying elements and temperature on the solubility of titanium particles in magnesium was investigated. It was found that the main condition for the dissolution of titanium in magnesium is the temperature of 800 °C and the presence of aluminium, which initiates the reaction by forming intermetallic compounds with titanium. After incorporation of titanium into the material structure, new intermetallic compounds were formed with all elements not previously described in the literature, in addition to the structures described.
