Tidally induced deformation of icy moons
Pleiner Sládková, Kateřina ; Souček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Rhoden, Alyssa (referee) ; Tosi, Nicola (referee)
Within this Ph.D. project, we have developed and validated a modeling methodol- ogy for the evaluation of the influence of friction in regional and global models of tidal deformation in icy bodies. We focus on the role of friction in two specific scenarios: (i) strike-slip faults within Europa's ice shell (expanding the model by Kalousová et al. (2016)), and (ii) the frictional behavior of fault system known as 'tiger stripes' at the south pole of Enceladus, building upon the 3D model of Enceladus' ice shell developed by Souček et al. (2019). Ad (i), we have developed a mathematical model predicting slip at the strike-slip fault, its neighboring bulk's deformation, and the region's thermal evolution driven by two dissipative processes. First, our investigation focuses on the mechanism of meltwa- ter generation, where results indicate a limited potential for generating near-subsurface meltwater and its confinement to the fault region. Second, we confirmed the physical validity of the 'tidal walking' concept, a theoretical model for generating lateral offsets on Europa's strike-slip faults. We show that fault penetration across the entire shell or reaching a sufficiently low-viscosity zone is necessary for producing observable offset, which is unlikely under current europan conditions. Also, our model's...
Nymburk in the Changes of Time - educational programme for secondary schools
Ševcová, Markéta ; Havlůjová, Hana (advisor) ; Sládková, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to compile and subsequently implement an educational programme focused on the history of the royal town of Nymburk. The educational programme is called Křížem krážem Nymburkem or Nymburk in the Changes of Time. The aim of this work is also to reveal the weaknesses of the educational programme that has already been implemented and to suggest changes for further implementation. The first part of the thesis focuses on a comparison of educational programmes in Nymburk district offered by the following remembrance institutions: the State District Archive of Nymburk, located in Lysá nad Labem, the Polabské muzeum Poděbrady, the Polabské národopisné muzeum Přerov nad Labem, the Nymburk City Museum ant the Loučeň castle. In this part the thesis also deals with the theory of educational programmes, how the programmes should be created from a professional point of view, what educational elements should be included according to the age category. A suitable tool for primary school pupils is experiential pedagogy, which is also used in the submitted educational programme. The thesis also briefly deals with the history of the royal town of Nymburk in one of its parts and then goes to the concept of the educational programme. The educational programme itself focuses on informing...
The Relationship between Curator and Educator in Museums of Art
Juríková, Kristýna ; Sládková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Havlůjová, Hana (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of relations and cooperation between curators and educators in art galleries. The theoretical part introduces both professions, presents their work activities and qualification and competence requirements. Furthermore, the theoretical part focuses on a brief overview of the ongoing transformations in exhibition institutions, specifically describing the related new institutionalism and the educational turn. The practical part presents empirical research, the main aim of which is to find out what the collaboration between curators and educators in selected art galleries currently looks like. The data for the research are collected through semi-structured interviews with curators and educators from the galleries; questions are directed at mutual collaboration as well as previous experience, education and work background. The information obtained in the interviews during face-to-face meetings is analysed and interpreted together with information from the websites of the selected galleries. The research shows that all the galleries surveyed offer a variety of active programmes for different target groups, which shows a reflection of the ongoing changes and a certain shift towards an educational turn. The main aim of the research is to map the current state of...
Vladislav II. Jagiellonian as a founder and patron

The bachelor thesis focuses on Vladislav II. Jagiellonian and his founding and patronage activities in the territory of current Prague. In addition to the recostruction of Prague Castle, it focuses in detail on the description and historical development of four selected buildings, namely the Powder Gate, the Governor's Summer Palace in Bubeneč, the Church of the Virgin Mary and ST. Charlemagne in Prague in Charles and the Church of ST. Jindřich and Kunhuta in the New Town of Prague, during the Jagiellonian era. The aim of this work is describes the circumstances of the origin of these buildings and the king's connection to the foundations. Selected problems of interpretation of Czech estates inscribed on the World Heritage List
Kučera, Karel ; Indrová, Martina (advisor) ; Sládková, Kateřina (referee)
The presented diploma thesis deals with selected problems of monuments in the Czech Republic, which were listed on the prestigious World Heritage List by the end of the year 2022. In the first part of the diploma theses, a comprehensive search of existing Czech inscriptions and values for which they were awarded the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) is carried out. Management plans of individual sites (or other strategic and conceptual documents) are also researched and chapters dealing with education and presentation issues of the given sites are evaluated. In the second part, the thesis deals with the issues of interpretation and education of values for which estates are awarded the OUV. A research is carried out of how local management work with the term "outstanding universal value" in their interpretive, educational and presentation materials and if the criteria for which the monument is included on the World Heritage List are given adequate attention. And if so, whether they use methodological materials in the interpretation of values, or at least the principles defined in the International Council on Monuments and Sites Charter in the field of interpretation and presentation of cultural heritage sites - the ICOMOS charter. I also plan to check whether local museums and other institutions are...
Mělník as the residence of Czech queens
Mrázová, Kateřina ; Sládková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Charvátová, Kateřina (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is Mělník, a famous royal dowry town that used to be an essential residence of numerous queens of Kingdom of Bohemia. The focus is on the importance of Mělník throughout history, from its creation in the 9th century to the 15th century. This thesis is dedicated mainly to queens Elizabeth of Bohemia, Barbara of Cilli and Joanna of Rosenthal. The aim is to analyze available historical documents and secondary literature sources and use them to explain the connections of the queens to the town, portray Mělník as their residency and explain its economic and political effects. The methodology provides methodological support and inspiration for the presentation and interpretation of cultural heritage through guided guided tours. It takes into account both tradition and the current demands of visitors, approaches to the protection of cultural heritage and new trends in interpretation, including foreign ones. When applied in practice, the methodology also has an impact on the general public, which is represented by several million visitors to the monuments managed by the NPÚ every year.
