Sládková, Hana ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Pelánová, Anita (referee)
The "Art-critique work of Jiri Setlik and Czech art critique of the 1960s" text describes the approach, sources and method of Jiri Setlik, important Czech theoretician and historician of art and art critic. The text follows his work in three different periods of the Czech afterwar art and art theory (1950s and 60s, the normalization period of 1970s and 80s and after the 1989). The structure of the first part of the text follows these periods, that represent different enviroment, possibilities and inspirations, mentioning the important cultural and art scene events, practical background of exhibiting, art writting, journalism or pUblishing and other circumstances that influenced the approach, style and work of Jiri Setlik and his colleagues. For each period, several art-critical texts of Jiri Setlik are selected, that are representative of his style development and also situation given by the culture and politics of that time. The second part of the text defines the art-critique method of Jiri Setlik in context of the contemporary art-critique theory and practice of 1960s, which is considered the most influential until today. Joe Sacco and Guy Delisle : views on comics journalism
Bárta, Jan ; Sládková, Hana (referee) ; Kruml, Milan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis "Joe Sacco and Guy Delisle: Two Views on Comics Journalism" deals with the possibility of existence of comics journalism, taking examples from work of two contemporary cartoonists, non-fiction comics authors Joe Sacco and Guy Delisle. To begin with, I'm trying to define comics phenomena and introduce its expressive devices and comics-specific techniques. Afterwards follows a short summary of history of comics, with a particular focus on history of American and Franco-Belgian comics. Then I would in short introduce the life and work of our two cartoonists together with a brief comparison of their visual style. The main part of the thesis is nevertheless the analysis and comparison of Joe Sacco's investigative reporting comic Footnotes in Gaza and Guy Delisle's comic travelogue Burma Chronicles. In the final part I'm due to answer the question of whether the comics journalism is possible and what could be its contribution.
The media reflection of the Czech pavilion at EXPO 2015 in Czech and Italian press
Roubíčková, Anna ; Sládková, Hana (advisor) ; Wolák, Radim (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the media reflection of the Czech pavilion from the recent EXPO in Czech and Italian print. The research sample comprised of 12 daily newspapers (Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES, Právo, E15, Deník, Corriere della Sera, la Repubblica, La Stampa, Il Giornale, Il Messaggero, Il Sole 24 Ore) that were monitored from 1. 3. 2015 until 30. 11. 2015. Firstly, the content analysis of 137 articles was performed on the individual level for both states. Subsequently, the media reflections in Czech and Italian print were compared to each other. The research found out for both countries that the highest number of media outputs was in May and that one particular journal was dominant in each country. On the contrary, the primary differentiation point was the extent of interest of the media outcomes. As the focus range of the articles differed (the Czech pavilion only in contrast to multiple national pavilions), other distinctions imply, such as the main subject of the articles or the most accented news values.
