Kolářová, Šárka ; Kuthan, Jiří (advisor) ; Scholz, Stefan (referee)
The romanesque Church of St. James in village Jakub The Church of St. James is situated in a small village Jakub (formerly Svatý Jakub) seven kilometres east of Kutná Hora. The Church has a single-aisle longitudinal construction with the apsis on the east and with the tower including the rostrum on the west. In the elevated part of the St. James Church was to be found a rather small liturgical space where was in 1845 during a major restoration discovered an "altar-autentika", document written by Prague Bishop Daniel (1148-1167) and describing the course of ceremony in 16. listopadu 1165. Nowadays this paper is an important contribution to the dating of the church building whose builder was a noblewoman Marie together with her sons Slavibor and Pavel. For its architectonical and artistic qualities the church of St. James ranks among most outstanding Romanesque construction monuments whose uniqueness lies especially in the sculptural decoration of the southern facade. It concerns eight relief figures enclosed by plain arcades on semi columns and the portal with tympanum. Periodic-style relationship of the architectonical articulation in connection with the sculptural decoration is searched in France (Poitou and Saintonge) whereas relief figures are linking together with northern Italy (mainly Emilia, Cremona,...

I. Název bakalářské práce: Foundation and building history of St. Nicholas Church in the period of top and late Middle Ages and early modern period in the town České Budějovice1 II. Anotace: In my work I deal with not only the oldest period of building of St. Nicholas Church in the town České Budějovice in the 13-th and 14-th century, but I include new information into regional and church- administrative context. According new connections from literature written and non-written sources and new information I devide the building history into 3 periods connected with economical power and policy of town and reformatory transformation of the Church. The first period defines years 1265-1279, i.e. beginning of building the Church and date of it's interruption of money shortage. Maybe before 1297 was consecrated not finished. The second period defines years 1297-1335 and during this period was building of the Church. Last period is after 1335. And since that we have big source fund showing us Church area, altar beneficious and stay of clergy. We can see, that these historical periods are connected with economical and political power, which after 1265 looked for it's home. In the next part of my work I deal with foundation of town rectory, which was consecutive created besides much older, non-town rectory. The...

At these days we don't know much about him, about its origin, because it was reached by destructional plunder in Hussite period and merciless fire in 1541 didn't spare him also. In 16th and 17th centrury was rebuilt in palace Harbuval-Chamaré. For thar reason the reports from literature are poor enough. Very important source of information, which can be a favourable clue to help us with determination about its inception and another valuable information are archeological documentation, research in building progress of Lesser Town locality and old manuscripts from 14th century. Chlustiková, Katarína ; Kuthan, Jiří (advisor) ; Scholz, Stefan (referee)
Basilica St.-Georges at the Prague Castle and its building development The basilica of St. George at the Prague Castle is one of the most important and the best preserved ones in Czech art history. It has been rewarded by extensive academic interest, mainly leading to the number of monographic papers written on it. Nonetheless the opinions on its foundation and development differ fundamentally. This thesis aims at arriving to perspective, from which we can compare and resume these diverse theories. This has been enabled mainly by recent archeological revision of older results and its more precise datation which allows new revision of the building development in its upper parts and the revision of its chronology. The thesis summarise all of accessible resources for the comprehensive analysis, archeological, historical and art-historical, which has been already published or used. It tries to bring a new view on the possibilities of an interdisciplinar study. Lack of this was the main reason for the misunderstandings among the academic society connecting this building. Benedikt Ried in late Gothic architecture northwest Bohemia - Louny
Bařicová, Lenka ; Scholz, Stefan (advisor) ; Kuthan, Jiří (referee)
Resumé Vliv Benedikta Rieda v severozápadních Čechách souvisí s celkovým historickým vývojem této oblasti, v těsném sousedství s německým územím, přijímající okolní vlivy a vzájemně se reflektující.

Resume This bachelor thesis considers the vast theme of habitation and first Church organization in Jihlava and its close surroundings in early and peak period of the Middle Age. First of all it pursues to summarize the up to now findings and to create the compact view on this theme. The resources were the literature, written and image sources, as well the building of the St. Jan Křtitel church to which the roots of pre-location habitation of Jihlava town are definitely related. The most original appearance of the church is unknown, thus the reconstruction of the original appearance is more likely the working hypothesis that uses the knowledge and researches from the year 1984. In part, this thesis also considers the aspect of the natural conditions that undoubtedly influenced the habitation process. The attempt of the definition of old Jihlava parish and localization of its villages coheres very closely with it. The possible questions for the future research are proposed in the conclusion.
