The regional identity of the people and holidaymakers in the borderlands; Case study: Bor in theTachov region

The thesis "Regional Identity of the Residents and Holiday-makers in the Borderlands; Case Study: Bor in the Tachov Region" aims on the assessment of the regional identity of the residents and holiday-makers in the border area of the Czech Republic- Bor region, and then finding of the awareness of the solidarity of the users of the area in which they are living and which they are using for the purpose of recreation. Beside the assessment of the regional identity in the Bor region the thesis aims on comparison of the research outcomes of the chosen area with the overall outcomes of the grant project number 43/03/1491 and finding specifics through the questionnaire survey and guided dialogues, including tabular and graphical representation of the outcomes. Another aim is the assessment of the regional identity based on the promotional materials. The model area of Bor in the Tachov region is an example of the border periphery of the Czech Republic where the forming of regional identity was deeply affected by the World War II and successive settlement.

The Minor in the Civil Procedure JUDr. Jana Sladká Hyklová Abstract The thesis deals with the topic of the minor in civil procedure. This topic has not been yet properly compiled in Czech legal literature although the issues of participation of minors within civil proceedings are still actual and their importance is increasing. The basic legal source covering the chosen topic is Act No. 99/1963 Coll., Civil Procedure Code, which had to be amended more than 120 times. Procedural law in family law matters, which form substantial part of the content of this thesis topic, is firmly connected with substantive law. Substantive legislation is nowadays represented by Civil Code and Family Law, which are supposed to be replaced on 1 January 2014 with new code of civil law, Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Coll.). This is the reason why the thesis pays attention to the existing legislation as well as to novelties brought by the new code. Where needed, an analysis of new legislation in terms of proper procedural protection of the rights of minors is provided. New legislation of civil law brings the question of preparation of appropriate procedural code. Private Military Companies and Security Sector Reform in Post-Conflict Countries: A Case Study of Iraq

A subject of this diploma thesis is a role of private military companies (PMCs) in security sector reform (SSR) in Iraq in a period from 2003 to 2011. The first chapter of the thesis focuses on goals and process of post-conflict SSR from a theoretical point of view because of an involvement of PMCs in post-conflict reconstruction which was taking place in Iraq. Part of the theoretical chapter is a SSR and steps which is the SSR process composed of. The second chapter concentrates on definitions and typologies of PMCs. This part of the thesis makes a distinction between mercenaries and private military contractors and PMCs themselves. Last but not least the second chapter encompasses discussion about a role of PMCs in a process of SSR in post-conflict countries. The third chapter is dedicated to a historical development of cooperation between PMCs and the US; it analyses roots of the US dependence on services provided by PMCs. A case study of Iraq elaborates on a role of PMCs in a process of Iraqi security reform. Aim of this chapter is to define advantages and disadvantages of usage of services provided by PMCs. By taking into account disadvantages employment of PMCs represents, steps that could help to avoid those in the future are suggested.

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the origins, progress and changes in the archaeology of South Bohemia in the 19th and early 20th century. Particular attention is paid to local amateur archaeologists and their activities.
