The master’s thesis analysis possibilities for work-life balance of women and men in leadership in academic sphere. It specifies gender roles, labor market segregation, stereotypes in population and outlines the benefits of implementation of equal opportunities for employers. The empirical part focuses in accord with the aim of the thesis on the issue of harmonization of work and family, and analyzes in detail the differences between men and women, their mutual cooperation and the reasons for the low representation of women in management positions.

The research is based on the international method of questioning VSM94 and personal interviews. The output of this thesis is a detailed analysis, which became the basis for unraveling the drawbacks of the conteporal state of the described problem and also the basis for the proposal of solution.

The first part describes theoretical aspects of motivation and its impact on human and his work performance. The practical part analyzes the motivation and satisfaction of employees by questionnaire survey. Subsequently recommendations for improving the current situation and increasing employee satisfaction are proposed which will lead to their more effective work performance.

This diploma thesis deals with motivation of entrepreneurs to carry on business in the field of language education and motivation for development of business activity. The theoretical part of the thesis defines fundamental concepts of motivation and entrepreneurship as well as other concepts linked to the self-management of entrepreneurs. The practical part of the work focuses on research conducted firstly through personal interviews with the founders of language schools and secondly through a questionnaire survey of teachers of foreign languages doing business under a trade license. Data are collected based on this research and their subsequent analysis leads to the evaluation of business motivation and its comparison between these two groups of entrepreneurs. Conclusion of the work then includes own proposals aiming to increase the motivation in the business activity.

The theoretical part of the thesis dealing with the theme of Age Management contains a relatively new concept concerning the field of Human Resources Management which focuses on taking the age of eymployees into account. The theoretical part is also approaches current demographic trends in the Czech Republic and points out the problems that may arise in connection with future demographic development. The practical part deals with the analysis of the external and internal environment of a company which serves as the basis for initial proposals of the application of Age Management in a particular company.

The theoretical part explains the concepts of human resources management and current demographic trends are not omited either. The analytical part presents the analysis of external and internal business environment. The quantitative and qualitative research was conducted as well. Based on the obtained data initial proposals are made for the introduction of age management in the chosen company.
