Preparation and Characterization of Fluoride Conversion Coatings on Biodegradable Magnesium Alloys
Drábiková, Juliána ; Hadzima, Branislav (referee) ; Brezinová,, Janette (referee) ; Ptáček, Petr (advisor)
The submitted work is aimed at the unconventional fluoride conversation coating preparation on the AZ31, AZ61, ZE10 and ZE41 magnesium alloys by their immersion in Na[BF4] molten salt. The influence of the preparation parameters (such as temperature and time) on the quality of the fluoride conversion coating is investigated. Methods of light and scanning electron microscopy were used for the evaluation of morphology, chemical composition and thickness of the coating. Short and long-term corrosion tests were executed to analyze the corrosion performance in simulated body fluid solution at 37 ± 2 °C with and without the fluoride conversion coating. The short-term behavior was evaluated by potentiodynamic tests, namely by the linear polarization. Long-term performance was assessed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy or immersion tests. The coating preparation parameters influence on the character of the formed fluoride conversion coating was defined based on the obtained results. The next part of the thesis deals with the description of the possible mechanism of formation and kinetics of growth of the unconventional fluoride conversion coating on the selected AZ61 magnesium alloy. In this part, further detailed analyses were carried out to investigate the microstructure and chemical composition of the fluoride conversion coating using focused ion beam, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Hydroxyapatite based ceramic composites
Vojtíšek, Jan ; Ptáček, Petr (referee) ; Bartoníčková, Eva (advisor)
This work was focused on the study of hydroxyapatite based bioceramic materials. These materials are generally very important for medical purposes, especially in the reconstruction and replacement of bone material. For medical applications, inert, bioactive or bioresorbable materials can be used. One of the common "bioactive" materials is hydroxyapatite, which forms a large part of human bone. Hydroxyapatite can be prepared by a wide variety of procedures, one of the most common methods is the precipitation reaction used in this work. To improve the biocompatibility of the bone replacement, porous structures with adequate mechanical stability are used. For the initial study of simulation of the behavior of biomaterials in the human body, called in vitro tests are used in solutions based on synthetic body fluids or cell media. The experimental part deals with the synthesis of hydroxyapatite powder and CA phase composite compounds. The reactions between the individual components were studied by thermal analysis and heat microscopy. The resulting products were analyzed for phase composition by X-ray diffraction. The prepared powders were further processed on foam structures by in situ foaming and sintering at a suitable temperature. In vitro tests, following the behavior of the prepared porous products in the synthetic body fluid, were performed for 7, 14 and 28 days. The monitored composites were then studied for biocompatibility by scanning electron microscopy. At the same time, the change in the concentration of Ca2+ and PO43- ions in the body fluids tested was monitored.
Preparation of light composites on the basis of alkali activated fly ashes from high temperature combustion of coal
Weiglová, Jana ; Ptáček, Petr (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (advisor)
This thesis studies possibilities of preparation light composite materials based on solid residues from high-temperature burning. The main focus is put on potential alkaline activation by water glass and 50% sodium hydroxide solution. Further on, the thesis analyzes suitable additions which when added into alkaline environment with alkali release gas and thus enable to create light porous composites. The aim of this work is to suggest one or several recipes for preparation of light composites made from solid residues from high-temperature burning through alkaline activation. To method of XRD diffraction analysis has been used to identify the products of hydration and alkaline-siliceous reaction (phases) of alkaline activation.

The thesis further contains the part about comparing Road Safety in our country and in other selected countries from the point of view of statistics. Most frequented offences and criminal offences in our country were analyzed. In the final part of this thesis is the suggestion of changes in point system. In the last chapter is introduced actual amendment of the Road Safety Act.
Sol-gel synthesis of a LAS glass ceramics and influence of additives on a phase transformation and crystallization.
Kramerová, Nina ; Opravil, Tomáš (referee) ; Ptáček, Petr (advisor)
This work is focused on Li ceramics and glass-ceramics with low thermal expansion. Composition of these material is based on mineralogical composition of ?-spodumene – Li2O•Al2O3•4SiO2. Sol-gel route of preparation was used for preparation of the material. Sol-gel route is profitable because of production of high purity and controlled grain size powder. Lower sintering temperature, higher degree of homogeneity and shorter time of heat treatment in comparison with traditional approach belong among other advantages of sol-gel route of preparation. Influence of Li+ substitution for K+, which has similar atomic radius, is assessed in this work. These ions are localized in the interstitial position of spodumene structure and are able to maintain the charge balance. Li+ ions were substituted with K+ in the amount of 0; 0,5; 1; 2; 5 and 10 wt. % in view of Li+ weight. In the next step influence of adding mineralizer was specified in the material modified this way. The effect of adding mineralizer on phase transformation and heat treatment tendency was considered. K+ were added to the mixture in the form of potash. Due to this addition forming of orthoclase phase next to spodumene, eucryptit and SiO2 (ss) was detected. Decrease in melting temperature and ability of melt to crystallize were consequence of orthoclase forming. No crystallization appears, when more than 1 wt.% of K+ was added.

V práci je zkoumán vliv podmínek na průběh hydrolýzy alkoxidů titanu a vlastností připravovaných nanočástic oxidu titaničitého s důrazem na teplotu a množství vody přítomné v systému. Připravované hydrolyzáty alkoxidů titanu a nanočástice oxidu titaničitého připravené z hydrolyzátů jsou studovány metodami XRD, DTA – TGA, SEM – EDS, BET a PCCS. Fotokatalytická aktivita vybraných připravených materiálů byla studována pomocí dekompozice methylenové modři v roztoku a par isopropanolu a ethanolu rozkládaných pomocí Mn-Zn feritu v experimentálním chemickém reaktoru s magnetickým polem stabilizovaným ložem nosiče katalyzátoru.
