Interpreting Departments of the German Legislative and Executive Bodies

The diploma thesis "Interpreting Departments of the German Legislative and Executive Bodies" focuses on two institutions: the Bundestag and the Auswärtiges Amt (in English Ministry of Foreign Affairs, abbreviated AA). This work partly follows the researches about the interpreting department of AA interpreting services from its establishment to the end of the Second World War and aims not only to describe the organization and functioning of this department after more than one hundred years of its establishment, but also to focus on relatively new interpreting department in Bundestag. In addition to organization, internal regulations and functioning, the work will also focus on topics of ethics and the role of an interpreter at the highest political level and exceptions across departments. This Bachelor's thesis deals with the poetry of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, with focus on his odes. The thesis chronicles important moments of Neruda's life, the possible division of his work, different influences which affected Neruda's poetry output, and will subsequently emphasis the odes from several points of view. Most attention is dedicated to the thematic aspect of the odes and furthermore their schematic structure. The aim of this thesis is not just to provide a comprehensive image of Neruda's odes and the context of his preceding work and influences to the Czech reader, but also to discover why they are so popular and the font of their power and magic.
