Knowledge representation for expert systems
Lekeš, Pavel ; Sáblík, Václav (referee) ; Polách, Petr (advisor)
The objective of this work is to analyze using of the first order logic for reasoning in knowledge based systems. Merit of the predicate logic is its relative simplicity in matter of algorithm development, where it is possible to decide about validity of a sentence written in first order logic language, by using formal rules without any connection to real meanings of logical variables. In Expert systems, the first order logic is used to derivate new formulas from given axioms, where previously derived formulas are included to the axioms as well. Its process of derivation of implicit believes from explicitly given facts.
Expert system
Šimková, Jana ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Jirsík, Václav (advisor)
The main point of the work is an identification with NPS32 expert system, the describtion of the ways of getting knowledges. By choosing a suitable district for the expert system aplication, the suggestion of the knowledge base for the district will have been the result of the work.
Knowledge representation methods
Verbík, Josef ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Jirsík, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with methods of knowledge representation within expert systems. The thesis describes the expert systems and their history. Furthermore, it provides a description of individual types of expert systems and their components. Following this description, there is a characteristic of the knowledge representation. These characteristic has been divided into two parts. The first part describes the requirements neccessary for efficient knowledge representation. The second part describes the following individual methods of knowledge representation: rules, frames, semantic nets and predicate logic.
Sanitary installations and gas pipeline in the pension for seniors
Polách, Petr ; Vrána, Jakub (referee) ; Vaščáková, Alena (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of sanitary and gas installations in a boarding house for seniors and their connection to existing utilities. For the whole object there will be designed operating water supply with the use of rainwater. The diploma thesis also includes the design of a sewage pumping station, grease trap, light liquid separator, infiltration equipment and rainwater tank. The theoretical part is focused on the issues of gray water and rainwater and subsequent use as operating water. Computational part and project part solves sewerage distribution, water supply and gas pipeline in the specified object. It is a partially basement object with five floors. The object includes a surgery, a cafe and a shopping place.
Sanitary technical installations and gas pipeline in the apartment house
Polách, Petr ; Wierzbická, Helena (referee) ; Vaščáková, Alena (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of sanitary technical installations and a gas installations in an apartment house and with their connection to existing engineering networks. It also includes a design of a wastewater pumping facility to protect the underground rooms from the sewage flooding. It also includes a proposal for a light liquid separator, infiltration device and rainwater tank. The theoretical part is focused on gas main, fittings in gas distribution, gas pressure regulator and gas meters. Calculation and project part solves distribution of sewerage, water supply and gas pipeline in the specified object. It is a basement building with three aboveground floors and usable attic. On the ground floor of the apartment house there is a café.
Stock Selection by Techical Analysis
Netušil, Petr ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Sojka, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is engaged in stock selection to portfolio with the help of technical analysis. In accordance with this aim the whole thesis is being structured, while at the beginning there are theoretical resources concerning exchange system mentioned, as well as basic methodology of technical analysis. These methods are further transferred into practical examples in the second part. This thesis thus describes possibilities of technical analysis in conditions of capital markets.
Expert system NPS
Plch, Miroslav ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Jirsík, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the suggestion to set a knowledge base for an expert system. Knowledge base is made for the topic of vibrations and sounds inside an automobile. The solution is based on a diagnostic expert system NPS32. The base that is produced can be used to identify the most frequent automobile defects.
Home security system - state machine logic
Hubený, Marek ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
The content of this work is to get acquainted with the requirements of security systems, modes and logic of the response to the activation of different inputs. They were designed the final state machines for the operation of electronic security system and implemented in the simulation equipment MSP-FET430UIF from Texas Instruments.
Evolutionary algorithms
Haupt, Daniel ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
The first part of this work deals with the optimization and evolutionary algorithms which are used as a tool to solve complex optimization problems. The discussed algorithms are Differential Evolution, Genetic Algorithm, Simulated Annealing and deterministic non-evolutionary algorithm Taboo Search.. Consequently the discussion is held on the issue of testing the optimization algorithms through the use of the test function gallery and comparison solution all algorithms on Travelling salesman problem. In the second part of this work all above mentioned optimization algorithms are tested on 11 test functions and on three models of placement cities in Travelling salesman problem. Firstly, the experiments are carried out with unlimited number of accesses to the fitness function and secondly with limited number of accesses to the fitness function. All the data are processed statistically and graphically.
Expert systems for choosing field of study
Vítek, Aleš ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Jirsík, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the suggestion to set a knowledge basis for an expert system enabling a choice of study specialization at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Brno University of Technology (abbrev. FEKT VUT). The expert system would recommend one of the six study branches at the FEKT VUT to the Year 4 secondary school students and Year 1 winter term students of the FEKT VUT. The expert system would gradually ask questions to the single study applicants. Their answers would put the study branches in order of suitability, from the most to the least suitable ones for the applicants.
