Ultrathin films deposited by means of magnetron sputtering and their characterization

Presented work is focused on the deposition and characterization of thin and ultrathin plasma polymer films, then also on the preparation of nanocomposites metal/plasma polymer. The characterization of plasma polymer films was partly done in-situ without exposing the samples to the atmosphere. The thickness of prepared films was measured by spectral ellipsometry, the chemical composition was measured by XPS. The morphology and optical properties of deposited films were measured ex-situ. It is shown that during the initial stages of growth the properties of plasma polymer films depend on their thickness and also on the material of the substrate. Many interesting applications were explored for prepared nanocomposites metal/plasma polymer. They can be used as superhydrophobic coatings, gradient coatings, substrates for Raman spectroscopy or as antibacterial coatings. Moreover, special optical properties of prepared nanocomposites were studied in detail. Presented work has an experimental character.
Determination of exercise post-oxygen consumption (EPOC) following resistance training, and aerobic exercise

Oxygen debt repayment after completion of intense muscular activity reflects the significant involvement of anaerobic metabolism druring exercise. Some studies have reported an increased oxygen consumption even after 24 to 48 hours after strength training character, while after the activities of lower intensity (the aerobic exercise) is the oxygen consumption increased only in the order of several hours. In common practice, especially in the selection of the most suitable forms of exercise to increase energy expenditure in the general population, this is not usually a calculated factor. The aim of the thesis is the comparison of the energy expenditure by using indirect calorimetry and monitoring of selected individuals and at intervals after completion intense muscular activity and after aerobic exercise. Pre-competition preparation of athletes category of men's physique

Title: Pre-competition preparation of athletes category of men's physique Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is the accumulation of available sources of information about problems in the field of bodybuilding and fitness. The data analysis, confirmation or disproval of hypotheses and preparation of detailed attitudes of experienced or future competitors in the category Men's physique. Methods: The research in this thesis was based on survey containing 10 questions intended for respondents who are regular or future competitors in the category Men's physique. The questions were designed to allow only one answer or multiple choice. The survey was made in electronic form on the website www.survio.com with the accumulated total of 63 responses. Another 17 responses were obtained through personal contacts in fitness centers. The results: Carried out research confirmed the following hypothesis: Majority of respondents prepares for a competition completely on their own. Majority of respondents in pre-competition stage uses at least five basic diet supplements. Disproved hypotheses were as follows: One-third of respondents participated in the competition in the category men's physique just after one or two years of training; 70% of respondents take care of their physical somatotype when setting a daily...

Among these, the conversion of handwritten or printed text into computer-encoded text has a particularly prominent position. In the presented work we propose a method for recognizing handwritten characters in real-time using feedforward neural network as the basic classification mechanism. Dealing with differences among individual instances of each handwritten character we thoroughly explored the possibility of suppressing these while emphasizing characteristics that are essential for successful recognition. For these purposes we employed discrete cosine transform, whose time-proven application in audio and video signal processing or even directly in the field of pattern recognition provided a convincing argument for us to use it in our work as well. The comparative study of predication equations for value calculation 1-RM at the squat and the dead lift.

Titel: The comparative study of predication equations for value calculation 1-RM at the squat and the dead lift. Aim: To evaluate the most exact equation for the calculation 1-RM on the basis of comparation of extracted data with predication equations at the squat and the dead lift. Research complex: The research complex is created by the soldiers of Army of Czech Republic. They are the men at the age from 20 to 40 with health classification A. Used methods: The comparative method with the using of experimental testing. Results: By the mutual comparation of data we have found out, that the most exact predication equation for the calculation 1-RM in a squat or in a dead lift is from the authors O'Conner et al. Leniency programmes and private enforcement of cartel law The available data suggests that there is an indisputable correlation between the declining attractivity of the leniency programme of the European Commission on the one hand, and the recent boom of private enforcement of cartel law on the other. It seems that in the past few years companies have become demotivated to submit leniency applications, which leads to a lower level of cartel detection and ultimately results in the weakening of both the public and private pillars of cartel law enforcement. Title: Optimal conditions of caffeine use and its effect on sports performance Objectives: Based on current scientific knowledge, summarize the effect of caffeine on various aspects of sports performance, and also to determine the optimal conditions for the use of this substance to maximize the ergogenic effect. Methods: Systematic literary research Results: The ideal dose of caffeine to improve athletic performance is in the range of 3- 6 mg/kg, and most preferably in the form of tablets 60 minutes before exercise. This substance has been shown to improve aerobic endurance performance, sprint speed and cognitive function such as accuracy and attention in athletes. Caffeine in trained individuals may also improve anaerobic endurance, maximum and endurance strength, simple reaction time and other cognitive functions, but further studies are needed. . Title: Difference in muscle activity during 1RM and 4RM bench press. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare the muscle activity of triceps brachii (TB), latissimus dorsi (LD), anterior deltoideus (AD), posterior deltoideus (PD), pectoralis major pars sternalis (PMS) and pectoralis major pars clavicularis (PMC) during the bench press with the maximal load (1 repetition) and the submaximal load of 4RM (4th out of 4 repetitons) and to determine the differences in the muscle activity between three different phases of the concetric part of the movement. Methods: This thesis utilizes the method of randomized experiment and the method of analysis. The data of muscular activity during the bench press with the maximal and submaximal load and different phases of the concentric part of the movement were obtained in the biomechanical laboratory using the randomized experimental approach. The subjects of this study were 19 men (20-28 years old). The method of analysis was used for evaluation of the data with utilization of the basic descriptive statistics and analysis of hypothesis with the T-test. Title: Ketogenic diet in endurance sports Objectives: The main goal of this work is to define and analyze the concepts of ketogenic diet and endurance. Further analyze the relationship between them. Another, no less important goal is to conduct a systematic literary research from all available sources that deal with this issue and draw conclusion from these individual studies. Methods: Systematic literary research and comparison of literature dealing with the koncept of ketogenic diet in endurance sports. Results: The studies did not show a significant increase in performance during the comparison of a high-fat or ketogenic diet with a high-carbohydrate diet.
