The Otpor movement and its perception among the Serbian professional public
Kracíková, Karolína ; Žíla, Ondřej (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the Otpor movement, which was founded by a group of university students in 1998. I focus on the activity of this group in the context of societal changes of the last decade of the 20th century. The aim of this work is to find out how the members of the Serbian professional public perceive the Otpor movement. I chose qualitative research as a method for data collection. The research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with selected members of the Serbian academic community. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I use the method of compilation of secondary literature. Here I focus on the definition of the terms civil society and social movement. The following chapter is devoted to historical-political development in Serbia in the 1990s. The focus of this work is its practical part. This consists of interpreting the results of the research. The study examines the attitudes of the interviewees in categories such as the connection of the movement with the Western countries, the legitimacy of the movement or today's image of the movement in society. The contribution of this work will be the examination of the topic, which is paid minimal attention in the Czech and Serbian environment. Keywords: Federal Republic of...

Štěpánková, Jana ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Janeček, Petr (referee)
This Dissertation is the benefit to studying of the questions of the oral history of forcibly ejected inhabitants of Neveklov and its neighbourhoods during the 2nd World War. About this region, there exists authentic testimony and this territory is fixed in the collective memory. The oral history is a highly valued literary source. Its value is in the authenticity, which is characterized by selectivity and represents another point of view. The essay brings the unique opportunity to get acquainted with witnesses of the wartime. At present this testimony is unknown or is being forgotten in the offical documents. The essay follows the researches of Jaromír Jech from the middle of the last century. If we compare the results of both researches, we get the view of the importance of forcible displacement of Czech inhabitants in a demarcated region. Result of this work is the analysis of the results obtained with the help of the modern approaches that are based on the method of the oral history, which is a part of the qualitative research, with an emphasis on general objectives and context. The essay brings new testimonies of events that have not been presented and published yet. It also simultaneously maps over the current state, i.e. the reflection of the forcible war persecution on the present times and...

Romany people in Romanian culture
Schneiderová, Andrea ; Našinec, Jiří (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with the Roma, one of the largest and most influential cultural minority groups in Romania. Their culture has been part of the country for centuries, and consequently they have had a significant impact on Romanian culture and society. Not in all cases the influence is positive, therefore the diploma thesis will deal with individual branches (cases / parts) separately. The first part discusses the history of the Roma since their departure from India, through their arrival in Romania in the 14th century, until today. The thesis will describe the current situation of the Roma, both from a cultural, linguistic and social point of view. The following chapters will focus on craft, language, literature, and other arts and their significance in the Romanian environment. In some cases, it may be the work of the non- Romani, the Roma being the subject of drawings, photographs, literature and music. In another case, they are the Roma themselves, their language, culture and art, which left a trace in Romania. Whether or whether not the Roma have influenced Romania examines a questionnaire that was submitted to Romanians of different age and gender. The results of the questionnaire are analyzed and compared with the facts resulting from the diploma thesis.
Turkish Minority in Sarajevo after 1995
Blinka, Jakub ; Žíla, Ondřej (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
In my thesis I will provide the introduction of the present Turkish community in Sarajevo. I will research not only the motivation of Turks to migrate, but also their relation to the Bosnian state, their social and economical background, their uses of language and their cultural habits. The thesis will be divided in to three parts. In the first section I will summarize the historical development of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the heritage that remained in the region after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. In the second part I will outline present political and economical relations between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina, after 1995. The strengthening of mutual relations between these two states leads to the begining of the Turkish migration to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The third and final part will be dedicated to the fieldwork of the community itself. The question of the count of the community cannot be supported by exact numbers and offical statistics. Despite this fact that the results of the last census were posted, the box for ethnicity and nationality only provides an option of three Bosnian constitutional ethnics, excluding all other national or ethnical options. The knowledge of the community presented here is primarily based on the results of fieldwork, because presently there are no sources,...

Mikolandová, Iva ; Nedvědová, Milada (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis pictures mutual relations of Croats and Serbs in the Dalmatian inland region (in the period from the Second World War until present) in selected novels of two Croatian and one Serbian novelist. To be specific, the thesis analyses following writings from the second half of the 20th century - Anđeli lijepo pjevaju (1953) from Vojin Jelić, Kostolomi (1960) and Klačina (1970) from Jozo Laušić and Braća po materi (1987) from Jovan Radulović. It also focuses on each of the authors' position towards respective theme and compares problematic facts associated with this culturally specific Croatian region. The thesis deals with denial of recognition of nationality and belonging to other culture and it aims on denial of certain problems of Serbian authors of Dalmatia. The thesis takes into account other Serbian and Croatian authors as well and includes them in the analyses. The thesis mentions for example Vladan Desnica, Vjekoslav Kaleb, Dinko Šimunović, Mirko Božić and Ivan Raos, whose writings describes co-existence of both nationalities, studied region and its people as well. However, those authors and their titles are not to be considered as the core of this final thesis. When analyzing the novel of Radulović Braća po materi, this part of the thesis also concerns the film processing together...

Development and Perception of the Sinjska Alka
Oľhová, Ivona ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Nedvědová, Milada (referee)
! Abstract ! This paper presents Sinjska alka, a knight's jousting tournament that has been held for the last three centuries in the town of Sinj. The paper aims to enlighten even a layman as to not only the particularities of the tournament, but also the region where it is set: the region of Cetina. In this paper, I have strived to put the development of the Sinj alka itself into a broader historical context. It not only pays special attention to the proceedings of the tournament proper, but it also focuses on the accompanying elements (the festive procession, Alka costumes, Alka tournament arms and organization of the Alka Tournament Society). The paper is supplemented with historical and contemporary photos that should bring the visual aspect of this famous Croatian tournament closer. !
Srebrenica massacre and its diverse perception in scientific literature
Šanca, Filip ; Žíla, Ondřej (advisor) ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (referee)
Srebrenica massacre remains unexplained in many aspects. Views of authors on it vary vastly in almost all respects. The tragedy was misused on purpose as a tool of propaganda. Not only the number of victims, but also the facts alone were altered according to one's particular interests. Comprehensive treatise on the diverse perception probably does not exist; and if, it is purposely distorted again. The aim of my work is not to undoncitionally determine which of the sides were right and which of them considerably changed the history by its uncritical interpretation. I am not going to try to examine the act itself, but the views on it. Secondary literature will thus be the main source of my work. First of all, I am going to outline the historical and political context of Srebrenica massacre. Main topic and core of my work is going to be analysed in the second part, where I am going to focus on the perception of massacre in scientific literature itself. That is in point of view of the participants themselves and of the states of International Comunity that analysed the case from afar. My aim is to examine the particular views and to compare them.

Nushiová, Suzana ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vinš, Přemysl (referee)
The thesis looks into Albanian folklore. It familiarizes the reader with the character of a witch in Albanian environment throughout fairytales, stories and other genres of folk literature. The main focus is on the role of a witch in the stories and its general description. The main goal of my theses is to compare this perception with other Balkan states and find out, how much the imaginations about a witch in Balkan states differ or contrariwise correspond. Simultaneously I will try to analyze in which kinds of folklore the character of a witch occurs. Finally the focus will lead to the reception of the character of a witch in neighbouring areas and also in Albanian artistic literature and modern life.
