PCM-based heat and cold storage
Němec, Lukáš ; Ostrý, Milan (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
In the first part of the bachelor thesis I will deal with the accumulation of heat and cold using materials with phase change and also the design of a PCM storage tank. The aim of my effort is to design the most ideal spacing of tubes in a given tank, so as to achieve the greatest possible heat capacity. I performed simulation experiments in CalA 4.0. The second part is computational, where I focus on the design of heating in the pension. I solve heating with an air-to-water heat pump. I designed solar collectors for hot water heating. The last and third part is the project, which contains the project documentation together with the technical report.

The vertical loadbearing structures and non-loadbearing walls are designed of CLT panels. The horizontal loadbearing structures are designed of reinforced cast-in-place concrete slab. Heating energy is supplied by pellet boiler. Ventilation is provided by air conditioning unit. Shading is provided by external louvers. In the third pard, I am creating the facility management plan for this building. The project and visualizations were carried out in the Autocad program.
Renovation of municipality office
John, Josef ; Klubal, Tomáš (referee) ; Ostrý, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the reconstruction of the Adamov municipality, based on a solution of barrier-free building use, overall improvement of the energy performance of the building and creation of new office spaces in the form of a loft. The object is located on a building site in the town Adamov. The object is currently connected to a III. road, parking space and utilities. It is a building with three above-ground floors and one basement floor. The ground plan of the municipality is rectangle-shaped, the maximum outline dimensions of the rectangle are 28.38 x 16.70m. Existing vertical supporting constructions are mason made of fired bricks. The roof frame structure is made of wood, construction framework stagnant stool, fired tiles are used as roofing. Floor surfaces are formed by ceramic tiles or vinyl. The entrance part is covered with a flat roof. The entrance area will be redesigned as a barrier-free, with a connection to the elevator that goes through the entire object. The sanitary facilities in the first and in the second floor will be renovated. Newly created attic floor will be – except for the lift - connected to the interior of the building by a new steel staircase and the walls on this floor will be of a light type. Holes fillings will be changed in the perimeter walls. A thermal insulation of the entire object by a contact heating system will take place. This thesis consists of preparatory work and studies, implementing documentation, text reports, calculations of the thermal technical assessment and fire safety solutions. Project documentation is made in accordance with currently valid laws, regulations and standards.

The diploma thesis focuses on a mixed-use building with a rectangle-shaped ground plan in Žilina city. The object is four-storey and with no basement. It is split into two sections. The first one provides a space for three operations in northeastern part of the first floor with an attached parking lot. These operations are not further described in this project and depending on investor´s requirements some changes may apply. The second part is an apartment housing section. The first floor contains utility rooms such as storage and buggy room. The housing sections are accessible with two entrances. The apartments are located from the second up to the fourth storey and are designed 1+KK, 2+KK,3+KK and 4+KK respectively. The apartments are assigned with parking spaces isolated from operations parking lot. Vertical bearing walls are made of clay blocks POROTHERM 30 AKU P+D, which are used also as internal bearing party. Internal bearing walls placed in apartments are made POROTHERM 25 AKU P+D and completed by POROTHERM 14 PROFI P+D. Walls will be placed on conrete and reinforced concrete strip foundation. Building has external thermal insulation made by EPS gray 200mm thick. Horizontal load-bearing structures are made by reinforced concrete. Object has flat roof with minimum slope 3%. Damp proof is made by PVC-P membrane. As thermal insulation is used mineral wool.
Control System of Building using Modelling and Simulation

Optimizing the design of modern low-energy wooden houses
Vahalová, Eva ; Ostrý, Milan (referee) ; Doc.Ing. Miloslav Bagoňa, Ph.D (referee) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The main aim of the thesis was focused on hygrothermal simulation of critical details of two prefabricated wooden buildings - especially connections of the perimeter wall to monolithic foundations, respectively with waterproofing layer. The composition of the external walls of these selected buildings has quite different compositions and thus different potentials of drying integrated moisture from the components. Practical measurement of moisture weight-content was applied to the wooden bottom plate, which is in direct contact with the concrete slab structures. The influence of different design solutions on hygrothermal characteristics of the wooden plate was examined with regards to the risk of mould growth, analysis of mass loss due to the decay fungi and with the aim to estimate the durability of the studied details of prefabricated wooden houses. The subsequent research focused on the differences in physical and mechanical properties of natural spruce wood (Untreated, (-), A) and impregnated spruce (Treated, (+), B) using supercritical CO2 and its possible impact on wood protection for mould growth. Samples of identical Untreated and Treated spruce were collected in the laboratory and subjected to thermal and hygrothermal experiments. The comparison of the resulting values of the individual experiments is presented. Required values needed for numerical calculations were obtained from these experiments. In conclusion, the summary of founded comparison is presented. The mould growth analysis and its influence on the durability of wooden structures offer a view of the behaviour of the structures. Relevant findings and recommendations for the future praxis are mentioned.
