Distribution system voltage stabilization by means of PV inverters control
Černý, Ondřej ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with options for solar inverters control aiming to stabilize voltage in LV distribution networks. For this purpose, it evaluates the possibility of using reactive power control. Currently proposed methods of reactive power control are reviewed and a new method, based on combined reactive and active power control is proposed and tested.
Design system for the detection and quantification of requirements to the control system of intelligent house
Kotík, Miloslav ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of the investor's requirements for control system of intelligent house. It is designed questionnaire to guide the designer in communication with the investor and this process is converted into an interactive form as a schedule. On the basis of the questionnaire is designed a procedure for automatic evaluation and transfer of detected investor’s requirements into the list of recommended components of a Tecomat Foxtrot control system and its peripherals for implementation. The first two chapters are theoretical and describe the intelligent house and the Tecomat Foxtrot control system. The last chapter of bachelor thesis describes the Design system itself and its parts - questionnaire, database, form, program evaluation.
Analysis of the Profile Busbar Conductors Properties
Domes, František ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
Checking of busbar system against effects of short circuit currents and currents of regular operation is important because of safety and also economic reasons. This Bachelor’s thesis deals with calculation of heating of belt conductor during the operation. There are also calculated mutual power effects between belt conductors and checking of busbar system on heat and power effects of short circuit current during the operation. Practical part includes the design of belt line of cell substation. Calculation was made by software Microsoft Excel.
Geometry of protein moleculs
Novotný, Jan ; Maděránková, Denisa (referee) ; Škutková, Helena (advisor)
Objective of this work was to study the spatial arrangement of protein molecules, with their extraction, notations and variables used in the course descriptions. Prediction of protein structures is very important for determining the future function of proteins. Another objective was to create a function in MATLAB that will graphically represent the spatial arrangement of the backbone structure of the protein by form Ramachandran plot. Along with this function create another function to render the side-chains of amino acids and function to calculate the stereochemical quality. Finally, create a program for a complete assessment of the spatial arrangement of the protein molecules and calculating the stereochemical quality of and test program for protein structures from public databases RSCB PDB.
Design of electrical substation for office building
Ličman, Petr ; Ptáček, Michal (referee) ; Novotný, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes a design of an electrical substation for office building. The first part deals with requirements for the supply of electricity and its quality. Because of the possibility of power supply interruption, the thesis also addresses the use of alternative sources. These can be divided into static sources (UPS) and rotating sources (motor-generator). The thesis also focuses on the issue of auto-switching power sources. In the practical part, the main power distribution of the building is designed, which also contains the main elements such as high-voltage switchgear, transformer, motor-generator and UPS. Focus on alternative sources has led to creating two variants of a backup system.
Project of Small Water Power Station
Hlavica, Tomáš ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Matoušek, Antonín (advisor)
Hydroelectric power plants in the Czech Republic are the most important component of electricity production from renewable sources. A hydroelectric power plant in our country produces 3.9% of the total energy, which is almost half of the 8.2% of all renewable sources. Regarding the large hydroelectric power plants and those already in the Czech Republic is very likely to accrue more, because in this sphere we need to focus on smaller hydroelectric power plants, up to 10MW included. The task of this project is to design just such a small hydropower plants (SHP), which could be an interesting investment for people nearby of larger rivers. In the first part of my project is to choose a suitable area for construction of SHP. In the second part is ma task identify and propose solutions water and hydropower
Strain measurement system
Novotný, Jan ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Štohanzl, Milan (advisor)
The batchelor thesis is focused on the design of strain measurement system using a metal resistance strain gages. Measured analog quantity is converted to digital form and sent to microcontroller, where the quantity is adapted and then display. The first part of project looks into genesis of different types of mechanical stresses, principles of resistance strain gages, the types of measurement bridges, theory of analog-to-digital conversion and short description of used microcontroller and liquid-crystal display. There are wiring diagram of the system and printed circuit boards designed in the second part of project. System can be also calibrated and driven by PC using Universal Asynchronous Communication Interface. System is physical realized, its functions are checked and there is subscribed driving of the system. Finally other alternatives of improving properties of the system are analyzed due to posibility of using of the system in practical aplications.
Application of overvoltage protection in LV networks
Knebl, Jan ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This paper describes the design of surge protection for objects of civil construction. The aim of this paper is to acquaint the reader with the problems of this region, which is nowadays especially for houses neglected. The introductory part of the thesis is focused on the theoretical analysis of the problem and become familiar with the standards in force, without which a person moving in this field certainly can not do. In the first major section is a repartition surge in general terms. In the second chapter, a repartition of surge protection on the inside and outside and a description of the individual components of these protections. The third chapter is made complete design protection for the school building, the first step is an analysis of the risks to unprotected building, then the protected and ultimately design of internal and external surge protection. In the last chapter, a check is made of the risk analysis using DEHN Support.
Thermal characteristics of power conductors
Měrka, Ivan ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis aims to theoreticaly analyze thermal phenomena in power conductors and construct a simulation of thermal characteristics of conductor under load. First, power conductors and their classification is discussed. Following are elementary information in thermomechanics and ways of heat transfer. Next chapter talks about different ways of cable laying with respect to their steady temperatures and the design of conductor’s cross section. Further chapter focus on unsteady state of the heating conductor, analysis of Van Wormer’s method for acquisition of thermal characteristics and in this method the model for parameterized conductors is based. In conclusion the simulated results are verified and compared to the results of practical laboratory measurement.
Dimensioning of Overhead Line Conductors According to ČSN EN 50341 and ČSN EN 50423
Dostál, Martin ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
Overhead line must be designed to be able to resist variety of influences. These influences are mechanical, which are caused by wind and rime during the normal conditions and electrical influences. Therefore all parts of overhead line have to be designed and built to withstand mechanical and electrical stress. This bachelor’s thesis is focused mainly on electrical parameters of overhead line, climatic stress and calculation of mechanical stress during limit states. There are described formulas and steps of calculation of line straining MV and HV and there are also described examples of calculation in detail.
