Attitudes of adolescents in institutional care towards paternity

This bachelor thesis deals with conception of family of adolescents who are placed in institutional care. The target group of adolescent men aged 15-17 years, who are placed in a diagnostic institute for youth, was selected. The main aim of this work was to find out what attitudes these chosen adolescents have toward paternity. The theoretical part of the work focuses on selected characteristics of adolescence, parenthood and the specifics of the diagnostic institute for youth and children or adolescents who are placed in it. It also describes attitudes and possibilities how to measure them. The empirical part of the work represents a qualitative research, which was carried out within this thesis. A semi-structured interview was chosen as a method of data collection, after that the data were rewritten and analysed using interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA). The results of the research introduce a typology of ideal roles that the figure of the father should fulfill according to the respondents. In their conception of family, selected adolescents mostly work with the traditional concept of family. A look to the future through the eyes of adolescent boys placed in institutional education facilities

The bachelor's thesis deals with the future of adolescent boys who are placed in a diagnostic institute for youth. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the current concept of adolescence together with some changes that occur during this developmental period. Furthermore, the future is introduced as a concept in the field of psychology. The core of this chapter is the introduction of the concept of future orientation and its context. The following is an explanation of the concepts of risky behavior and conduct disorders and the system of educational care in the Czech Republic is introduced. The empirical part describes qualitative research, which was conducted on the basis of semi-structured interviews with boys placed in the diagnostic institute. Six boys aged 15-18 were included in the research. The aim of the research was to map the view of the future of the mentioned adolescent boys. The results show that boys attach great importance to their career focus, regardless of whether they have an idea of their specific future profession. Furthermore, the importance of the current family in starting their own family is shown. Life experience influences future images, especially in the area of lifestyle and family relationships. The bachelor's thesis deals with the professional orientation, the assumptions and the ability of adolescents with behavioural disorder. The main aim of this work is to discover whatthe professional orientation of adolescents with behavioural disorders is and compare the assumptions and abilities of these adolescents with their professional aspirations. A partial goalof this work is to analyse the fluctuation (stability) of their direction. The first part of the thesisis devoted to the theoretical basis. The second part is devoted to the research itself that was done using the Bochum's Business-Focused Inventory of Personality, the Self-Directed Searchand a non-standardized questionnaire.
Preparation of fosters parents for a temporary period - from fosters parents perspective

The present thesis deals with the process of preparation for a temporary foster care. The aim of the thesis is to reflect on foster parent's personal experience and their preparation process. Specifically, the work focuses on various issues during the preparation process, its usefulness and the impact on their personal and family life. The theoretical part deals with the system of foster care. Furthermore, we will look at the temporary foster care itself, its inclusion in the system of foster care, and a special emphasis will be placed on the system of preparation for foster parents. In the practical part we will analyze and interpret the data of qualitative research which was carried out using the method of semi-structured interviews. Despite some shortcomings in preparation, such as the lack of practical information or the approach of lecturers, the research showed that the respondents perceived the preparation as beneficial. Above all, they appreciated the introduction to the issue, in harmony with professionals, or in self-experience. The relationships and attitude of adolescents living in a diagnostic institute to formal authorities

The topic of this bachelor thesis is attitudes to authorities of adolescents who are currently in diagnostic institute and their relationships. The theoretic part includes definitions of terms such as authority, adolescence and attitudes and characterisation of diagnostic institutes. These terms are defined as they are crucial for the research in the following empiric section. Therefore it is necessary to explain the way they are viewed in this thesis. The aim of the empiric section is to characterise the relationships of the adolescent boys who have been placed in diagnostic institute by court with the authorities they have met in their lives, most of all the formal authorities. The research in the empiric section characterizes the subjective understanding of participants of their own attitudes towards formal authorities. This research has been executed in diagnostic institute in Prague 2, including 7 boys in the age of 16 to 18 years. The work of a psychologist in facilities for children requiring immediate help

The aim of this thesis is to map the work of a psychologist in facilities for children requiring immediate help (FCRIH). The partial aim of the thesis is to compare the work of a psychologist in FCRIH with the work of a psychologist in school facilities of institutional and protective care. In the theoretical part the thesis deals with the system of alternative care for children and describes the various forms of care. After that the theoretical part focuses on FCRIH itself, especially the legislative framework of these facilities. The following chapter is focused on children in FCRIH and thus defines the work of a psychologist in these facilities in terms of the content of his work. The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on psychological care in FCRIH and school facilities of institutional and protective care in order to compare them. Multimaterial structures preparation by using deposition methods

This master’s thesis deals with origin, structure and mechanical properties of architectured material. The theoretical part deals with composits and theory of architectured materials. Further, the cold spray technology is described and it is used to create the network of grooves in the architectured material. In the experimantal part the influence of groof geometry and profil on the mechanical properties of the resulting architectured material is researched. Microstructure and hardness of the samples were also examined.
Well - being of children and teenagers from institutional care

This thesis deals with the specifics of subjectively perceived well-being of early and mid adolescents (11 - 15 years) who are curretly living in Czech foster homes. The purpose of this study is to describe whether their life satisfaction differ from those, who are growing up with biological parents. If so, in what aspects and why. The theoretical part focuses on various concepts of well-being, current institutional care situation in the Czech Republic, its benefits and risks, the developmental period of early and mid adolescence with its outstanding characteristics. In addition, the newest studies related to the topic are covered. The practical part includes mixed approaches (both quantitative and qualitative) through the KIDSCREEN- 52 questionnaire and suplemental anamnestic questionnaire. In total 53 children from 8 different foster homes filled out both questionnaires. The research results show, that life satisfaction of children in institutional care is in three domains (moods and emotions, school environment, social acceptance and bullying) lower in comparison with children who are living with their families. Analysis of Employment and Unmployment in Ústí nad Labem Region compared to the Czech Republic in 2007 - 2015

The thesis deals with the issue of employment and unemployment, including its socio- economic aspects in the Ústí nad Labem region compared to the Czech Republic between years 2007 and 2015. The theoretical part describes the nature of unemployment (breakdowns, causes, impacts, unemployment solution) including the impact of macroeconomic indicators, fiscal and monetary policies, with particular respect to active employment policy. The practical part includes the analysis of the Ústí nad Labem Region itself and its employment and unemployment, taking into account the benchmark of the Czech Republic with a polemic on the effectiveness of employment policy and its settings. The thesis implements the SWOT analysis of the Ústí nad Labem Region, which describes weaknesses and strengths and identifies individual opportunities and threats. The data were gained from the Czech Statistical Office and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
Informed and engaged patient: The case of Crohn's disease

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the relationship between the patient and the doctor, which can be changed by the influence of the Internet and modern technologies. Possible relationship transformation is investigated from the perspective of patients with Crohn's disease. The aim of the work is to find out whether Internet access can affect the relationship between the patient and the doctor. In the theoretical part, there is described the importance of trust, which fulfills an important function in the relationship between the patient and the doctor. Furthermore, the social role of the patient in society and the medical description of Crohn's disease are also clarified here. The results of the thesis are presented and analyzed in the empirical part. The data was gathered through semi structured interviews with six patients with Crohn's disease and two chairmen of patient organizations. The research results did not confirm the assumption that access to the internet may be the cause of a change in the relationship between the patient and the doctor. Respondents interviewed stated that the relationship with their doctor was based on trust, and the information found from the Internet would not be preferred to those provided to them by their doctor.
