Aplication of magnetic susceptibility in study of soil pollution
Surmová, Petra ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
The aim of this thesis is briefly summarize the application of magnetic susceptibility in study of soil pollution. The manuscript is based on scientific articles focusing on the above mentioned subject. In each chapter I deal with magnetic properties of rocks and minerals, in particular the magnetic susceptibility. Magnetic susceptibility in a weak magnetic field is one of the most important parameters, which indicates a change in the concentration of ferimagnetics in soils and sediments (Kapička et al., 2004). Main magnetic minerals are described with respect to their occurrence in soils and anthropogenic origin. Both field and laboratory instruments for the measurement of magnetic susceptibility are also described. In the final chapter I deal with two case studies, where magnetic susceptibility measurements were used in environmental study. I compare two different geographical areas in terms of pollution, relatively clean Krkonoše Mountains National Park and industrially polluted Upper Silesia. Keywords: antropogenic ferimagnetics, magnetic susceptibility, magnetic minerals
Comparing Neurophysiological Methods to Functional Therapy in Treatment of Cerebral Palsy from Newborns To Adolescents- A literary review
Smetana, Christer ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
Title: Comparing Neurophysiological Methods to Functional Therapy in Treatment of Cerebral Palsy from Newborn to Adolescents Investigative questions: What are the scientifically proven advantages of Neurophysiological Methods and Functional therapy, respectively? In what situations would one treatment approach be more beneficial than the others? Background: Cerebral palsy is the most prevalent of the chronic childhood motor disability disorders, with a prevalence of approximately 2 in every 1000 live born. Definitions and classifications have been varying for the last 150 years, leading to a great deal of confusion and controversy in this field of paediatric medicine, resulting in varying recommendations in terms of therapy. In complex cooperative therapy team is necessary in each individual, and in terms of physiotherapeutic treatment, two big and very distinct blocks of treatment philosophies are found, namely the Neurophysiologic Method and the Functional Therapy. Previously, no definite recommendations towards therapy has been provided, and many studies simply conclude that the field of cerebral palsy, despite centuries of attention, still lacks substantial parts of information to conclude with anything in particular. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate and compare the Neurophysiological...
Case Study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the osteosynthesis of medial malleolus and fibula
Kadlecová, Jana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Mahr, Edwin (referee)
The ankle is a complicated structure in the human body. It is a joint that is subjected to sustained loads; muscles and ligaments provide stability. Ankle injuries are amongst the most common of injuries, but their diagnosis is sometimes difficult. With improper treatment, chronic arthritis can occur. In order to restore proper joint function, rehabilitation is necessary. The aim of this work was to identify and become familiar with physiothrapeutic procedures and practices when a fracture of the ankle has occurred. This objective has been met by using selected methods to rehabilitate the patient. The case report shows the progress of the rehabilitation, from a baseline, setting goals and choosing the appropriate form of therapy, and these determine the effects of all therapies that have been processed in the CLPA in the period from 25. 10. 2010 to 23. 11. 2010.

Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of subtalar dislocation Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to work out a detailed case study of a patient with the diagnosis of subtalar dislocation and a literature search of this topic. Another goal is to acquire knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of a subtalar joint, knowledge of orthopedics related to this diagnosis and knowledge of possibilities of physiotherapeutic care of such a patient and also active participation on the therapy of this patient. Methods: I used assays and physiotherapeutic approaches which I learned during the bachelor studies on FTVS UK. Background for the special part of this thesis was gained during the special practice in C.L.P.A s.r.o. since 10.1.2011 till 4.2.2011. The general part informs about anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of a subtalar joint, about subtalar dislocation and about physiotherapeutic care of this injury. Special part includes methodology of the work, anamnesis, opening kinesiologic analysis, individual therapies, outcoming kinesiologic analysis and the effect of the therapy. Results: I worked out a detailed case study of a patient with this diagnosis and a literature search of this topic. The work was beneficial especially because I...

The importance of myofeedback rehabilitation in faecal incontinence
Černovská, Markéta ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (referee)
Title: The importance of myofeedback rehabilitation in faecal incontinence Introduction: Faecal incontinence is a serious symptom significantly worsening quality of life. Following results of international studies myofeedback has been considered an effective option of conservative treatment of this disease. Despite that it has so far been used at just a few centres in the Czech Republic. Purpose: The main purpose of this thesis was to assess the relevance of myofeedback as part of recovery therapy. Other objectives included assessment of use of a vaginal electrode instead of an anal one and comparison of the result correlations between examination by anal manometry, surface EMG and subjective improvement of continence for the patients. Methods: The research project included 8 females. The objective method of assessment of effects of the treatment involved examination of pelvis bottom muscles with the help of anorectal manometry and surface EMG. Success of the therapy was evaluated through the St Marks incontinence score and by the test population themselves filling out a quality of life questionnaire. Results: In the course of three-month recovery most patients experienced improvement of subjective as well as objective parameters. The results of the study are comparable to results of international...
Foot Arch in Childhood
Kellerová, Kateřina ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Author: Bc. Kateřina Kellerová Title: Foot Arch in Childhood Problem definition: The most often diagnosis related to the foot arch in childhood is definitely flexible flat foot also called pes planovalgus. Because of that this thesis will be mostly oriented on this diagnosis. There are many articles about flexible flat foot and many studies were oriented on this problem. The informations about etiology, influencing factors or therapy are sometimes discordant in different articles. But almost all of them contain one same statement which says that the prevalence of this diagnosis is decreasing as the foot arch is changing during the child's growth. It means in older children there is not flexible flat foot so often as in the younger ones. But there is no detailed description of the dynamics of these changes of the foot arch in childhood. Aim of this thesis: The aim of this thesis is to find out the development of the foot arch in children of pre-school age. In other words to run the survey to find out the changes of the foot arch in children of pre-school age which occurs in six months. Method: The survey contains anamnesis questionnare for parents and also these examinations: footprints, examination of joint laxity, mobility of hip joint, position of knee, patellae and heel, Jack's test, posibility...
Evaluation of the immediate influence of physical activity on the quality of postural functions of basketball players
Mudruňková, Michaela ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the immediate influence of physical activity on the quality of postural functions of basketball players Author: Bc. Michaela Mudruňková Supervisor: PhDr. Tereza Nováková, PhD. Problem definition: Difficulties in the evaluation of the quality of postural functions and in the establishment of a so-called ideal posture stem from the diversity of views of different authors. Posture is definitely not the same as standing, but unfortunately many of the tests for postural functions evaluation focus only on that. Postural stability can be measured using device methods as well, but these devices are not available everywhere. Therefore, I have tried to create my own set of tests, which would best meet all requirements: simplicity, speed, availability and complexity of testing and evaluation of the quality of postural functions. Physical activity is followed by fatigue of the organism (decreased muscle strength, impaired movement coordination, ...). In my thesis I try to explain how fatigue manifests itself on the quality of postural functions and how to best assess the quality of postural functions using simple tests. The aim: The aims of this thesis are to develop an appropriate set of tests for evaluation of the quality of postural functions and to investigate the effects of different...
