Comparison of selected Czech daily newspapers ahead of the 2023 presidential elections

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the reporting of five selected newspapers between the first and second round of the direct presidential election in 2023. In the theoretical part, the thesis introduces the reader to scholarly concepts and terms related to normative expectations of a democratic society, such as objectivity, balance, impartiality, and others. In the descriptive part, it describes the Czech media landscape and touches more closely on the topic of media ownership. In the research part, using quantitative and qualitative content analysis, the author works with data collected from the Czech daily newspapers Hospodářské noviny, MF Dnes, Lidové noviny, Právo and Deník N and interprets the results based on four research questions.
Democratic erosion and media in Central Europe

The bachelor thesis analyses the declining media freedom in relation to the transformation of the ownership structure in Hungary and Poland. In the theoretical part, it introduces the reader to key concepts and definitions of democratic backsliding, which places in the context of the basic historical development of media freedom in the two selected countries. In the analytical part, the thesis focuses on three variables: state advertising, ownership structure and delegitimization of journalists, according to which it compares the situation in Hungary and Poland on the basis of a paired comparison. The aim is to find out what effect the changing ownership structure has on media freedom and how this is reflected in the quality of democracy of political regimes.
Prevention of socially pathological phenomena in lessons of civics

The topic of my thesis is the prevention of socially pathological phenomena in lessons of education for citizenship. The aim of this work is to focus on the prevention of these phenomena right in the lessons of education for citizenship. For these events, I chose the particular issue of bullying, absenteeism, drugs, and sects. Thesis has two parts, in the first theoretical I focused on historical and current developments in education for citizenship and I mentioned the Minimum preventive program. The second part is practical, there are stated the preparation for lessons of each socio-pathological phenomena, work texts and evaluation of the lesson after its teaching.
