Model of Evaluation of Economic Risk of Construction Project from the Perspective of Investor
Navrátil, Martin ; Bártů, Dominik (referee) ; Hromádka, Vít (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to point out grave risks during the preparation phase of an investment plan from the investor's point of view. The preparation of construction investment plans will be introduced using the construction preparation models of the state-owned Česká pošta, a traditionally very experienced enterprise when it comes to capital construction projects. In the theoretical section the complete preparation of capital construction projects will be discussed. In the practical section I will present particular projects that weren't void of problems, and the causes will be determined. We will find out that these causes are not random, and present a permanent risk. In the closing section the measures for elimination of these risks will be presented.
Biology of three-toed woodpecker
Navrátil, Martin ; Fuchs, Roman (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
In my thesis I have tried to find out how does forest management influence presence of the Three-toed woodpecker Picoides tridactylus. This species is considered a "flagship species" of an untouched primeval type of forest and therefore it requires our attention and protection. The thesis contains results of North-American studies focused on the species very similar to Picoides tridactylus. The main chapters are those aimed to provide information about how is the Picoides tridactylus affected by forest fragmentation, stand health condition and finally the impact of food supply on the occurence and behaviour of the species.

From Eros to Philosophy

Summar7@issertation,,FromEros to Philosophy..,TomášHejduk) The studytries to answerthe following question:what is themeaningof thewordy'/ra in its specificusagein theconceptoffilo-sofia atthebeginningof theEuropeanculturď tradition? We answerthis questionby exploringSocrates'elaborationof the conceptof eros andhis relationto the godEros. We try to identi$ theconceptoffilia in Socrates'philosophymore precisely by displaying the conceptof eros in the sameway as it is elaboratedby this Athenianphilosopher. One of themain assetsof our work shouldlie in thecomparisonof theconventionalandnon- conventional(philosophicď)conceptionsof eros andfilia, in thesearchingfor anddescribing the differencesbetween taditional models of behaviour in ancient Greek society and Socratic-Platonicmodelsof eroticrelationshipsandits innovations. We intendto reveď how eros andthusfilia is understood1)by SocratesandPlato,i.e.by philosophers,2)by thinkers living beforeSocrates,i.e. on thefield of religion,3) by Socrates'contemporaries, regardless of them being intellectuals (Lysias, Aristophanes) or not (Xenophon). We therefore contemplatethe philosophical conceptof eros from tfueedifferentpoints of view: from the meaningof filia in the notionoffilo-sofia; from the differenceof thetraditional(religious) conception;from the differenceof the...

The impact of a bark beetle gradation on the occurrence and feeding ecology of a three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus) in the Šumava National Park
Navrátil, Martin ; Fuchs, Roman (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
The main objective of this study was to find factors that influence the occurrence of three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus) in Šumava at a time when the bark beetle gradation caused by Kyrill subside. The research was conducted on five transects. To prove the presence of three-toed woodpecker was opted the method of an acoustic provocation, which reliability was well proven. The hypothesis was that the three-toed woodpecker prefers the trees infested by bark beetle instead of healthy trees. Surprisingly, however, he also prefered the stands where the main attack took place several years ago. Regardless of their health status the tree- toed woodpecker preferred non-intervention stands instead of the on- going management forest. Among other factors, the exposure was applied (preferred south and west) and elevation (median, minimum altitude of about 1100 m.). Another important result is that Picoides tridactylus prefers for its food stands still alive or just dead spruce trees infested by the bark beetle. Overall, it appears that the three-toed species has narrowly defined biotope demands, which are linked to the natural spruce forest unaffected by people. The results of this study could be used to better understanding of the ecology three-toed woodpecker, eventually can help to create a...
