Evaluation of the bioimpedance parameters in patients with bronchial carcinoma
Netolická, Jana ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Kovařík, Miroslav (referee)
44 12. Abstract Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Candidate Mgr. Jana Netolická Consultant PharmDr. Miloslav Hronek, Ph.D. Title of Thesis Evaluation of the bioimpedance parameters in patients with bron- chial carcinoma The aim of our study was to compare BIA parameters among patients with NSCLC in stage III. and IV., in periods P1 (before the 1st cycle of chemotherapy), P2 (in 6 weeks after the first examination before the 3rd cycle of chemotherapy) and P3 (3-4 weeks after the last 4th cycle of chemotherapy). Measurements was taken among 10 patients, 7 men and 3 women, in average age 64 ± 8,05 years. Our results did not prove a statistical (p < 0,05) significant difference between values of individual parameters BIA (ANOVA test and t-test) and on the other way lots of correlative relations were found among values of BIA , which follow from calculating patterns. In summary we can say, that we demonstrated malnutrition in our patients and according to the values of phase angle and illness marker had patients a worse prognosis. ECW exceeded the physiological value (20 %) in all three periods (P1 23 %, P2 22,8 % P3 23,3 %). Conversely ICW below the physiological limit (40 %) (P1 25,8 % P2 23,5 % P3 24,9 %) and the same TBW (60 %)...

Evaluation of anthropometric parameters at patients with bronchogenic carcinom.
Netolická, Jana ; Hronek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Hrnčiarik, Michal (referee)
63 12. Abstrakt The aim of this work was to compare anthropometric and spirometric parameters of patients with bronchial carcinoma in stage III. and IV. Patients were examined in total of three periods (P1-P3), 0 day it was the entrance examination before the 1st chemotherapy cycle (P1), 6 weeks after it was the follow-up examination before the 3rd chemotherapy cycle (P2) and 12 weeks after it was the final examination which was 3-4 weeks after the last 4th chemotherapy cycle (P3). Ten patients were examined, they included 7 men and 3 women of the average 64 ± 8,052 years. Weight loss during the examination swayed in a small range, which was not significant (in period P1 the body weight was 75,03 11,44 kg, in period P2 was 72,25 12,4 kg, in period P3 was 74,33 14,37 kg). BMI was moving steadily beyond the value of 25 and according to the age it belongs to the ideal weight (for period P1 it was 25,43 3,619 kg/m2 , for period P2 was 25,31 3,885 kg/m2 and for period P3 was 25,15 5,619 kg/m2 ). There was also a moderate increase in body fat according to Siri, which is described in some studies (it was 19,52 7,353 kg in period P1, in period P2 it was 19,17 7,092 kg and in period P3 it was 20,39 7,246 kg). Values of physical circuits had a tendency to decrease in period P2 in comparison to period P1, but in...

Application of the Nursing Care Research Results into Practice {--} the Role of Head Nurses
NETOLICKÁ, Jana
One of the key factors influencing the quality of nursing care practice is the research applied within nursing processes. Therefore it is vital for theory to be closely linked with practice. To perform research and apply its results in practice is one of the conditions which lead to the development of evidence-based practice. Research applied in nursing care is a key strategy resulting into the unification of the human educational and scientific aspects of nursing care. This thesis focuses on the nursing care research and its application in practice together with the role of senior nurses within this process. The aim was to investigate whether and how the nurses are actually involved in nursing care research plus to examine whether ordinary nurses are willing to accept any changes associated with the introduction of the results of nursing care research into nursing practice. Besides this, also to determine whether nurses are encouraged to implement the results of nursing research into nursing practice, to observe nursing care deputies and leading nurses experience in respect to the implementation of the nursing care research results into practice in different types of hospitals plus to determine whether and how nurses introduce the results of nursing care research into practice. The final objective of this thesis was to determine whether the head nurses manage to introduce the results of the nursing care research into their nursing practice. In quantitative survey performed, the research sample consisted of nurses who work in inpatient departments at clinics and regional hospitals - public limited companies of the Central, South, West Bohemia, and Prague. 350 questionnaires were distributed. The research involved 186 questionnaires. Qualitative research data collection involved 12 respondents, out of which there were 3 head sisters employed at clinics and 3 nursing care deputies plus 3 head nurses from regional hospitals - public limited companies. All interviews were entirely anonymous. According to the survey findings, most of the nurses replied that they are not actively involved in the nursing care research. Nurses generally follow published results of nursing care research, but on the other hand, it is obvious, that they follow nursing care research outcomes randomly and without particular focus. Nurses not only that they refuse any changes, but they do not see any benefits of the implementation of research findings into the nursing care practice. The qualitative survey performed met objectives and all questions were answered. Any of the responses can serve for further quantitative research, especially when the results of the implementation of the nursing care research into practice at clinics and regional hospitals are compared.
