Emergence of irreversible dynamics by the lack-of-fit reduction
Mladá, Kateřina ; Pavelka, Michal (advisor) ; Klika, Václav (referee)
The thesis studies theories of dimensional reduction on the example of the Kac- Zwanzig (heat bath) model. The studied methods are the Mori-Zwanzig projection for- malism and the lack-of-fit reduction, both applied for two sets of resolved variables. The methods give integro-differential and ordinary differential evolution equations re- spectively. For the Mori-Zwanzig formalism, a limit of the number of particles going to infinity is made, which leads to an exponential memory kernel and consequently to a set of stochastic differential equations. The evolution equations of the two methods are compared using numerical simulations. 1
Misuse of Suboxone
Mladá, Kateřina ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Reichelová, Lenka (referee)
The bachelor thesis has these targets: (1) to demonstrate that the misuse of Suboxone also occurs in the Czech Republic; (2) to question the common myth that Suboxone cannot be applied in an i.v. form, and (3) to disclose some circumstances of Suboxone misuse ( e.g. if the i.v. application of Suboxone has any aversive effect; if the clients are able to prevent this kind of effect; to what change in the client's life the Suboxone use or misuse can lead , the availability of Suboxone in the black market, demand of this substance in the black market, etc.). The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical parts, and subsequent discussion and conclusion. The theoretic part presents essentials on substitution programmes, information on the substitution substance Suboxone, and the introduction of the treatment centre where I collected data for my thesis (specialized out-patient programme CADAS). References to the recent research studies on this topic are also mentioned. The practical part includes two case studies of the clients who both misuse Suboxone in an i.v. form, and subsequent comparison of those case studies based on the set criteria. Through the case studies and the comparison of them the determined research questions should have been answered. The discussion and the conclusion are oriented...
Current form of the point scheme in chosen specialized wards for substance abuse treatment in psychiatric and general hospitals in the Czech Republic
Mladá, Kateřina ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Randák, Dušan (referee)
This diploma thesis has following goals: (1) to describe the original form of the point scheme suggested by doc. Jaroslav Skála (2) to describe the contemporary form of point schemes in chosen specialized wards for substance abuse treatment in psychiatric and general hospitals in the Czech Republic (3) to describe differences among contemporary forms of point schemes and the point scheme suggested by Jaroslav Skála (4) to find out, whether there are efforts to work with the forms of point schemes; (5) to describe reasons, why some wards tend to change the point schneme. This thesis is devided into the theoretical and practical part, conclusion and following discussion. Theoretical part deals mostly with the theory of the point scheme - its founder, formation, history and theoretical background. It also deals with its place in behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapy and contingency management. The practical part describes the original form of the point scheme, it also describes contemporary forms of point schemes and then compares them with the original form following chosen criterions. This part also deals with the problem, why the point scheme is not used in some wards, especially why they retreated from it. The research questions are answered in the conclusion. The discussion contains the...
Geometric integrators
Mladá, Kateřina ; Pavelka, Michal (advisor) ; Hron, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis gives a brief introduction to the Hamiltonian formalism and symplectic geometry. The Hamilton theory is applied on three systems - the pendulum, a parti- cle in a central potential field and rigid body rotation. The main focus of this thesis is to derive several symplectic integrators: the symplectic Euler schemes, Verlet schemes, implicit mid-point rule method and a parametric symplectic integrator. The symplectic integrators will be compared with each other and with two non-symplectic integrators - the explicit Euler scheme and the Ehrenfest integrator. For the comparison we will use harmonic oscillator, a particle in a central gravitational field and rigid body rotation. 1
