Technology in potato cultivation aimed at efficient use of nitrogen
Svobodová, Andrea ; Hamouz, Karel (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
Environmental-friendly technology of potato growing was studied in field trial plots on Valečov Research Station belonging to Potato Research Institute Havlíčkův Brod between 2010 and 2014. The first part was focused on the effect of local application of mineral fertilizers on production yield and quality. The second part studied the effect of nitrogen fertilizer containing urease inhibitor (UREAstabil) compared to urea in increasing rates on yield and selected parameters of potato quality. In the first part of trials with liquid DAM 390, ammonium sulphate and urea the obtained results show that yield differences among selected fertilization variants were insignificant with certain tendency in favour of the variant with split nitrogen rate using DAM 390. For evaluated quality parameters no statistically significant differences among tested fertilization variants were recorded. In the second part of trials evaluating UREAstabil and urea applied at various rates during soil preparation prior to planting, applied rate had a higher effect on potato yields than nitrogen form. The results show that mutual comparison of urea and UREAstabil did not indicate any statistically significant yield differences.
Impact of rainwater management on mitigation of hydrological extremes
Pešková, Jitka ; Štibinger, Jakub (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
This dissertation deals with the impact of rainwater harvesting on mitigation of hydrological extremes. Due to the fact that it is a very broad topic that cannot be completely elaborated, the work targets selected aspects of this issue. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is divided into the following five chapters: The water in the landscape, Water regime, Hydrological extremes, Water regime adjustment and Legislation. These chapters summarize available worldwide knowledge about rainwater harvesting both in the landscape and in urbanized areas with a focus on mitigation of extreme hydrological phenomena (floods - drought), including legislative security of water management on national and EU level. The second part of the thesis is compiled in the form of an annotated set of four scientific studies, whose results were presented in articles published in scientific journals. The first study targets the efficiency of torrent control (hydro-technical point of view and migration of water fauna). The second study focuses on the territory of the Morava River floodplains, where negative impacts of floods and droughts appear repetitively. The study solves the hydrological balance of the area using the WBCM-7 model. The third study focuses on computation method of the retention drainage capacity in the agricultural area drained by subsurface pipe drainage system. The last paper describes a new application of the Fourier series for detailed simulation of the runoff on a catchment in the dry periods. Within the thesis, these studies have been interconnected by explanatory comments.

The structure of native pine stands in eastern Bohemia.
Marková, Kateřina ; Vacek, Stanislav (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
Abstract This work deals with the issue of the structure of pine stands also in Europe with a focus on natural forests in the Czech Republic and, in particular, in Eastern Bohemia. The work shows the characteristics of the area of interest Třebechovické the Board and in the NPR Adršpach-Teplice Rocks, and in particular the site and stand conditions. The goal is to acquire knowledge about the structure and evolution of the natural pines in Eastern Bohemia, focusing, in particular, n poor acidified in the bory Třebechovické boards and relict pine forests in the NPR Adršpach-Teplice Rocks. For measurements in the field system was used by the Field-Map, the biometric characteristics are measured stand (the stem thickness, height of trees, the height of the deployment the Green Crown, Crown projection, the location of the trees in the shade), the position of the dead wood and from them created situational maps of the areas. The results obtained will serve primarily as the basis for the creation of the nature of the middle management in pine stands in a similar site and stand conditions.
Methods of Carnivores genetic monitoring in Holarctis
Smutný, Matyáš ; Černá Bolfíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
Genetic monitoring begins to be widely used for monitoring carnivores, in Europe this method is also used for monitoring of other species. In this work I focused on exact definition of genetic monitoring, what is the practical use of this method and function together with other methods of monitoring. In my work I further examined invasive and non-invasive methods of gathering samples and well-known but also less known methods of monitoring of small carnivores in general and large carnivores namely. For practical part I extracted DNA from thirty three samples of faeces and eight samples of tissue. Thirty blood samples used in this work were extracted in the research From Wolves to Dogs and Back: Genetic Composition of the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog by Smetanová et al. (2015). Scats came from Beskydy and Kokořínsko, tissues were from legal blast in Slovakia and specimen killed in Valašské Meziříčí and Kokořínsko, and blood came from dogs. After extraction I measured the concentration of DNA by spectrophotometer NanoDrop 2000 and using statistical program Statistica 12 I compared their quality. The blood had the highest average concentration od DNA, the lowest in contrast had tissue. In this work I discuss which genetic material is most suitable, in terms of yield of genetic monitoring, and additionally the limits of each method.
Effect of composition on sensory quality of selected thermally processed meat products
Nováková, Lucie ; Kouřimská, Lenka (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the characterization of two representatives of the heat-treated meat products a traditional czech sausages called špekáčky and Gotha salamis, their composition, manufacturing technology, history and present legislative directives related to manufacture. A substantial part is the introduction to the field of sensory analysis methods and approach, which are used to determine sensory quality of špekáčky and Gotha salamis. The experimental part is based on the assumption that between products from different production levels, particularly farm and commercial, are statistically significant differences in the quality perceived by consumers, in the event that these products have significantly different recipe. The evaluated parameters were (in the case of both products) appearance of the cut, preparation, color, aroma, consistency, taste, saltiness and overall impression. The evaluators recorded results to the unstructured graphical scales of length 100 mm. Each descriptor has a label with the requirements of Decree no. 264/2003 Coll. as amended. One representative farm production and one commercial production of each product type was rated. In case of špekáčky statistically significant difference demonstrated only for descriptors flavor and overall impression, which amounted to a farm product of inferior quality, was demonstrated. This small difference is caused in a very similar composition of both samples. For Gotha salamis statistically significant difference has been shown in most of the descriptors. The overall impression, color and smell of a farm product was better than the product of commercial production, in the design and appearance of the cut was a commercial product better than a farm. These differences are caused by totally different composition (in favor of the farmer's product) and different pushing the technology used (in favor of commercial product). Given hypothesis was confirmed - using a different recipe has an effect on the sensory quality perceived by consumers. But the fact of farm production does not guarantee a higher quality compared to the commercial product. It is always necessary to monitor the composition of the product.
Analysis of project- and tender prices of arboricultural treatments within project Greenery restoration in group of communities Novoborsko
Sviták, Jan ; Kunt, Miroslav (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
SUMMARY The first chapter of my dissertation is set on the problematics of greenery in villages and cities and characterization of activities that are realized in the project The common solution in the care of the native landscape where the inventarization of trees in the region of the Union of the Novoborsko villages is processed, with the utilization of standard metodics of technical state meassuring of trees, analysis of the state of vegetation zones and the singular trees with the use of ISAT metodics and measurements. With the measurements acquired in this project was founded the project: Regeneration of the greenery in the Union of the Novoborsko villages. The aim of this work is comparison of real prizes in individual arrangements with the prizes of transparent open competitions. The work contains summary of prizes of these arrangements in the individual villages and cities in the Union. In the next stage are the main section of open competitions and the output acquired from the prize offers of individual companies involved in these competitions. The last stage of this work contain outputs and the realization of next stages of the The common solution in care of the greenery project and the preparation of the Regeneration of the greenery in the Union of the Novoborsko villages project. The outputs shows common and widely known truth that the projected prizes of the projects are way off in comparsion with the offered prizes of companies which partakes in the open competitions . This work proved that final prize of the starting prizes in the competitive tendering is significantly lowered in the end. Specifically saying, the prize of the winning prizes is lowered for about a third for the whole project, but even equally in the partial prizes of the items. After comparsion analysis of prius, using the application of prizes listed in the ÚRS price lists in combination with real prizes of arboristic companies it gives us a common rules how to prepare a request for grants linked with projects of the solutions in the care of greenery.Practical and theoretical skills of the realized project Regeneration of the greenery in the Union of the Novoborsko villages were used. In my opinion the main aim of these outputs can be in the usage of the realization and the preparation of the projects linked with the care of the greenery and woody plants that villages and towns in Liberec region make, because the situation is similar like in the Union of the Novoborsko villages. I believe that this work may improve the not so good state of greenery and the better budget making of small villages.
Assessment of current status, historical research and design of reconstruction of selected parts of the park at Research Institute of Crop Production in Prague
Vopičková, Lucie ; Kunt, Miroslav (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
The goal of the presented diploma thesis is to propose a reconstruction of a selected part of the Research Institute of Crop Production (RICP) in Prague (Czech Republic). The proposition is based on an evaluation of the current state as well as on a historical investigation of the studied area. The 5ha compound of the RICP is situated at the territory of Prague, the Capital City in the Prague 6 - Ruzyně quarter. The complex is from three sides surrounded by fields. Inside, it includes a decorative garden, which was founded in 30ies of the 20th century. At that time, the function of such garden was of a pure educational purpose - it was used as visual aids for students of the Provincial Pomological Institute that had been located there. This exact utilization lies behind the important amount of rare decorative woody plants that we still find there. The premises are currently in a good state. More than half of woody plants rank among the most valuable and very valuable ones. Nowadays, the area of the RICP is not accessible for the public so that the garden can be used only be the employees of the institute. Based on source data, a proposition of the reconstruction of the central part, which includes the main building and its surrounding decorative garden, has been created. Even if this part should be the most representative of the RICP, the related (required) atmosphere is not currently reached. This is the reason why a reconstruction has been proposed - to increase the actual level of the studied area and to restore its original function. The main idea consists in preservation of the current vegetation cover and in restoration or addition of some technical elements, which are nowadays not satisfactory. This includes mainly: path surfaces, pergola, benches, waste bins and lamps. An extra enrichment of the free grass area, situated in the central part of the garden and visible from the entrance to the building, is also dealt with. In addition, the diploma thesis provides a photographical documentation of the current state of the studied area, inventory tables and graphical supplements of the reconstruction project as well as the inventory plans of the whole area.
Proposal recovery orchards in the Thomayer Hospital
Mendlík, Petr ; Sus, Josef (advisor) ; Miroslav, Miroslav (referee)
In this diploma thesis, there is evaluated the state of the historic fruit trees, the possibilities of their maintenance and plans for planting new trees. With respect to the current purpose of the respective area, neither intensive fruit production nor precise care can be anticipated. It seems that the most effective approach will be to manage the extensive orchards in the way it is still quite usual in the Czech countryside, or in the system of organic farming. This will allow taking care of the trees just moderately with occasional pruning, without using fertilizers and without pest control. This is in line with current approach to the care of the plants in Thomayer hospital area. In the past the selection of varieties of fruit trees that have been planted has given priority to those known to be suitable for the local climate, those which are long-living and also those which are now rare but which were grown in former times and which are still valuable. For example some varieties of choosen apples are: 'Astrachán bílý', 'Baumannova reneta' and 'Zvonkové', pears: 'Magdalenka', 'Šídlenka' and 'Špinka', plums: 'Elena' and 'Durancie', apricots: 'Bredská' and 'Sabinovská', cherries: 'Koburská raná' and 'Srdcovka Krügerova'. Trunk heights were selected as half-trunk and high-trunk on vigorous rootstocks. The good reason for this height is that there are people passing close to beds and trees, they are parking their cars. Last but not least the fruit and leaves need to be out of the reach of grazing sheep. All currently existing fruit trees have been maintained in completely non professional manner for the very long time. It is recommended that many of the old trees be removed. Those that remain will be only cherries, a few pears, plums, three apricots and two hazels. In total it is recommended to plant 192 new fruit trees. The new trees recommended are apples, more pears, more cherries, plums, more apricots and sweet chestnut. It will be important to provide the financial resources, not only for planting the new trees, but also for their care, especially in the first years after planting, because the existing unprofessional manner of the fruit tree maintenance in the area is neither suitable for current strong and old trees nor for new ones. Moreover, lack of maintenance can directly endanger the growth of the new fruit trees and affect their future health.
