Namesti Miru in Brno improvement and completion
Mikel, Jakub ; Štěpánek, Martin (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
Form and future utilization of Brno square Míru is on a long-term basis discussed topic for the general and the professional public. The discussion on the utilization of this significant area was accelerated after the Ministry of Defence transferred the possession of the unused military area to city of Brno in 2003. The residents of the Masaryk´s district, of which is the square Míru notional centre, have written many protest petitions and have held several meetings with suggesting outputs for municipal political authorities. Currently held urbanistic-architectural public tender, of which the results are to be announced in the term corresponding with the date of submission of this bachelor thesis, will be interesting confrontation of the students´ theses. The bachelor thesis will check student´s knowledge in the fields of designing public city areas, designing poly-functional buildings, interior design and technological and constructional solutions.
Building design optimization
Mikel, Jakub ; Doležalová, Monika (referee) ; Klika, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of optimizing the design of the building and the effect of this optimization on the realization price of the building. Part of this work then is the creation of a practical overview of the principles of the concept, divided into basic categories, so that it is possible to use these principles for the building as a whole, but for a specific part of it. Part of the work is then a comparison of the standard concept with the proposed solution and their resulting price comparison of the realization prices.
Vltava Philharmonic
Mikel, Jakub ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The Philharmonic is a building that, in terms of its operational as well as conceptual nature, forms a very complex object that allows the architect to try out a whole range of situations. Also, its visual essence cannot be neglected, because the philharmonic, especially when it is the one in the capital, becomes one of the architectural symbols of the country. In my work, I deal with this task in the background of the competition that took place, and thus of the real tender conditions. An important focus of the work is the connection between the Philharmonic and the public, both through a large number of public areas directly in the building, and also through the creation of residential areas in its surroundings. This is also associated to the connection of the public space and the river, where the public space around the building is directly connected to the riverbank.

Analýza tvorby dřeva buku lesního (Fagus sylvatica L.) na buněčné úrovni
Mikel, Jakub
The bachelor thesis describes the analysis of the wood creation of the europen beech wood (Fagus sylvatica L.) at the cellular level. The samples of three young trees were taken at weekly intervals, for two consecutive vegatation periods in 2013 and 2014. Subscriptions took place between 2013 and 2014, using the trephor. Permanent microscopic preparations were made from mikrocores and were observed using a light microscpe. This work explores the cambial aktivity and the proces of wood formation during the year season (from March to April). By using the light microscope, the beginning of cambial activity, its maximum activity and termination was recorded. Furthemore, the course of the cell differentiation in individual phases (radial expansion, the sekundary wall formation and lignification) were observed. Measured values of radial expansion were interleaved by the curve of the Gompertz function, which set the optimal model of radial increase during the year season. The date of maximum daily gain and average increase per day was determined from obtained data. Observing the cambial aktivity and the cell diferentiation in relation to climatic conditions will help us to understand the link between the wood formation and the influenc of the environment. The obtained results were compared with the professional literature.Formula clause:yes
