Assessment of the Economic Situation of a Company Using Statistical Methods

The diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of the economic situation of the company Vilgain s.r.o. in the years 2013 to 2020. The theoretical part of the work presents financial indicators, time series, regression and correlation analysis. The next part of the work focuses on the analysis of the results of financial indicators. Some of these indicators are then used for statistical analysis, which serves to predict the possible development of individual selected indicators in the next two years 2021 and 2022 and also to analyze the dependence between the two selected indicators. The last part of the work is focused on proposals to improve the economic situation of the selected company.

Meranie Bankovej Efektivity

This thesis provides an empirical insight on the frontier efficiency estimation methods in banking and their sensitivity toward the change in definition of particular characteristics in the techniques used. The two methods, stochastic frontier approach (SFA) and deterministic data envelopment analysis (DEA) are compared over several variations, results of which are supported by the meta-regression part including 32 studies on the USA and 14 on the transitional countries. The main findings of this study include: the efficiency score is highly dependent on the methodological design, the largest variation in the estimated scores of SFA and DEA are due to Fourier-flexible functional form application, and the rank order correlation between these methods raises with an increase of the homogeneity degree in the sample. Bakalářská práce se zabývá posouzením finanční situace společnosti s použitím vybraných metod finanční analýzy a statistiky za období 2015-2019. Práce má 3 části. V teoretické částí jsou vysvětlena teoretická východiska finanční analýzy, časových řad a regresní analýzy. Analytická část obsahuje představení společnosti, analýzu finančních výkazů za zvolené období, statistickou analýzu pro stanovení trendu a předpověď budoucích výsledků a také zhodnocení dosažených výsledků. Závěrečná část je věnována návrhům opatření pro zlepšení finanční situace podniku.

The first part deals with the description of goals, methods and processing. The theoretical part provides information about financial analysis, regression analysis and time series. The practical part contains the analysis of the company using the methods described in the theoretical part. In the last part, with the help of the achieved results, are proposed own solutions to the found problems and shortcomings.

The thesis consists of three parts. The the first part is focused on the theoretical basis and describes selected financial indicators, regression analysis and time series. The second part describes the current state of the company and provides an overwiev of the financial situation of the company. The last part is suggestions for future improvement.

This bachelor thesis presents the analysis of the financial situation in the selected company using statistical methods and selected economic indicators in 2011–2019 period. The structure of the thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The former describes methods of financial and regression analysis and also tools of time series analysis. The latter applies aforementioned methods and tools in order to analyse financial data of the company and to evaluate its situation. The thesis concludes with suggestions and recommendations as to the improvement of future financial situation and stability of the selected company.

The bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of the financial situation of Scania Czech Republic s.r.o. using financial indicators and statistical methods. The theoretical part of the thesis first present all the important information, which is then used in the practical part to calculate the economic indicators. The practical part is drawn from the available resources from the company on which the financial analysis is based. Statistical methods are then determined primarily for prediction based on the calculated financial analysis. The final result, evaluation of calculations and advice for the following years can be seen at the conclusion of the bachelor thesis.

The diploma thesis is focused on the assessment of selected indicators using statistical methods. The first part is devoted to theoretical background, which describes financial indicators, time series analysis and regression and correlation analysis. The second part deals with the analysis of selected indicators and statistical analysis, which predicts the values of indicators for the next two years. Then correlation analysis is created, which determines the dependence between selected financial indicators. The last part is devoted to proposals leading to the improvement of the current situation of the company.
