Evaluation of a Water Reservoir Bed Morphology Using Bathymetric Data
Jílek, David ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
Sedimentation of reservoirs is one of the current problems in the field of water resource management. The actual conditions of the bed morphology can be scan by modern bathymetric sensors or measuring and then transferred to digital terrain models. This bachelor thesis evaluates the process of the sedimentation of the upper reservoir of Nové Mlýny reservoir since its first filling in 1978 to the newest measuring in 2018 using an assessment of a water volume changes in the reservoir. The thesis also describes a detailed manual of reservoir volumes evaluation in the programs ArcGIS and Atlas DMT, and verification of the method accuracy. These programs were used for creating the digital terrain models and calculating area-volume curves that were utilized for evaluation of a volume change and then for the amount of the reservoir sedimentation. The total volume of the reservoir loss during the forty years is estimated as 500 thousand m3 which equals 28 % of the total reservoir volume, at least the 300 thousand m3 of sedimentation was realised in the last ten years. The outcomes are part results of the project ATCZ28 SEDECO – Sediments, ecosystem services and interrelation with the floods and droughts in the AT-CZ border region.
Water Management Analysis of Reservoir Storage Capacity Due to Climate Change
Šenková, Monika ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
The aim of this work is a water management solution of the storage volume of the Vlachovice reservoir in the conditions of climate change. Due to the long-term drought and flood period, the Czech Republic decided to build multi-purpose reservoirs. One of them is the multi-purpose water reservoir Vlachovice. The tanks are designed for a certain storage volume, which is calculated from the flow series in a given water profile. Flows on watercourses are conditioned by climatic and geomorphological conditions. Climatic conditions are constantly changing and significantly affect flows. It is difficult to determine the future of water flows. Future flows are generated based on measured values ??and expected climate change using mathematical models. In this work, just these two scenarios of the future of flow series depending on the amount of precipitation and temperature changes are compared.

Matoušek, David ; Doležal, Petr (referee) ; Menšík, Pavel (advisor)
Diploma thesis ‚The project of a small water reservoir in the Níhov cadastral area’ has goal to introduce to reader the small water reservoir as the important landscape element. Small water reservoir is cornerstone of local ecological stability, which has important income for microclima in the closes surrounding. Furthermore, the function of constant improvement water quality in the basis or contribute to increasing of ground water level. Thesis is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part thesis describes the topic of small water reservoirs briefly. The first part shortly describes the details of designing process or inner process within the reservoir. In the second practical part is created basic project documentation based on the data collected and measured in the affected area. The project was created in cooperation and upon request of investor the representation of the village Níhov.
Creating a Hydrological Model to Determine Maximum Runoff from a Small Catchments
Hakl, Petr ; Pospíšilík, Šimon (referee) ; Menšík, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to set a hydrology model based on existed methodology DesQ-MaxQ, which comes from "Designing flows from a very small catchments" established in 1989. The model is able to set a nearest meteorology station and his 24-hours rainfall depths for periods of repetition 2,5,10,20,50 and 100 years. Substitute rainfall depths are set by "reduction of 24-hours rainfall depths" methodology. According to hydraulic and hydrology conditions of catchment, duration of the critical rains for each period of repetition are set also peak flow rates and total runoffs from the catchment. Application can work in two modes - "one slope" and "two slopes". The second option also includes calculation of design duration for the model catchment and superposition of hydrograph. Application RainRunoff was develop in C# programming language with graphic user interface and option to exports hydrographs.
The Design of a Rules for the Hydropower Control of a Dam Reservoir
Bednář, Martin ; Kříž, Tomáš (referee) ; Menšík, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to create an algorithm by which it will be possible to devise management rules. These management rules will be able to advise a more efficient use of the hydroenergetic potential of reservoirs with run-of-river small hydro. The actual algorithm will be created with a view to maximizing the profit from the operation of the hydropower plant and using the time course of electricity prices on the market. The rules designed by algorithm will be tested in a simplified way in selected period using simulation model.

The main goal of this work is to evaluate the nameless watercourse and propose the possibilities of its improvement
Relation Between River Flows and Suspended Sediments in the Selected Hydrometric Profile of the Thaya River Basin
Bobková, Dominika ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
The issue of the sediments of their transport and subsequent storage in water basins is an important topic which is perceived very seriously by the water management expert public. Therefore, work in this area is very desirable. The aim of bachelor‘s work is to find and estimate possible dependencies between average daily discharge and average daily values of non dissolved substances carried in suspension. The dependencies will serve as a partial basis for addressing the ATCZ28 SEDECO Sediments project, ecosystem services and interrelation with floods and droughts in the AT-CZ Border region. The data are analysed in different periods of time. The result of the analysis is the trend line regulations and the degree of dependence between flows and concentrations, which is expressed by means of a coefficient of determination. The practical application is performed on data measured in the Trávní Dvůr profile on the Dyje river for the years 1996 and 1997.
Simulation model of reservoir system in Dyje river basin
Buršík, Lukáš ; Kozel, Tomáš (referee) ; Menšík, Pavel (advisor)
This Bachelor’s Thesis is focused on creating a simulation model of the reservoir system in Dyje river basin. The reservoir system consists of four reservoirs: Jevišovice and Výrovice on the Jevišovka River, Vranov and Znojmo on the Dyje River. The HEC-ResSim program was chosen to create the simulation model. The simulation model is aimed at reservoir storage function and the calculation works with the daily step. Real data of individual reservoirs and real flow series of three measuring profiles are used. The first part of work deals with simulation models and reservoir functions in general. Then the used program is described in a greater detail. The second part deals with selected system of reservoirs, watercourses and measuring profiles. There can be found a description of creating the model itself in the selected program in the third part. The description is complemented by selected examples of physical data and management rules. The last fourth part is devoted to a summary of the results, which are again accompanied by selected examples.
