Rock-Climbing in the Region of the Bohemian Paradise in the Second Half of the 20th Century
Marková, Martina ; Vaňous, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Krátká, Lenka (referee)
Rock climbing in the cities of the Bohemian Paradise became widely popular already by the end of the 19th century. Quite specific qualities of the local sandstone attracted domestic as well as foreign climbers right from the beginning. After 1948, many of the regional climbers, whose qualities were undisputable even in the nationwide scale, remained reliant upon climbing merely within the borders of the former Czechoslovakia. Until 1989, majority of them were not allowed to travel abroad and thus they could not prove their skills and qualities worldwide. There was a very limited number of those who could participate in foreign expeditions and thus fulfil their dreams. The rare contact with foreign climbers became a source of new information, new styles and trends in climbing, and an access to new equipment and gear in general. To many domestic climbers, however, such sources remained unattainable, and without them they were often left to develop and produce their equipment by their own, until they were allowed to travel to the West. This paper, with the help of the method of the oral history and qualitative subject analysis, gives a concise picture of the history of rock climbing in the Bohemian Paradise in the context of the constraints set by the communist Czechoslovakia. The chapters trace the...
Employment of foreigners
Marková, Martina ; Štefko, Martin (advisor) ; Koldinská, Kristina (referee)
Employment of foreigners The topic of my thesis "Employment of foreigners" is quite actual, as the number of foreign workers in the Czech Republic is constantly growing. Foreigners are often very welcomed labour force in many areas of the czech labour market. Despite this fact, the czech labour market is not freely opened and the Czech Republic, just like the other EU Member States, tries to protect its labour market against uncontrolled flow of foreign workers. The most common instrument that states use in an effort to protect their labour markets are barriers of administrative nature, such as a work permit and a residence permit. Only foreign nationals are required to fulfill these conditions. My work is divided into five chapters, of which the first one deals with an international element in labour relations. That is a situation when one party of the obligation (an employee) is a foreigner and the legal relationship is factually connected with two or more legal orders. In this case a choice-of-law has to be made, to select the law applicable to this legal relationship. The choice-of-law rules are cointained in many international treaties, among them is the most important The Convention on the Law Applicable to Contractual Obligations, signed in Rome in 1980. This Convetion was converted into a Community...

Singing Rituals at Nursery School
MARKOVÁ, Martina
The thesis deals with music activities employed in nursery rituals. It is aimed to become a useful tool for nursery teachers, helping them to create a class curriculum. Besides, it may be used as a study material for the future nursery teachers. The paper is based on the literature cited, my own experience and also my research. The thesis is divided into three parts a theoretical, practical and research part. In the theoretical part, a contemporary approach to music education is introduced. This part also deals with goals of the music activities, educational principles and personality of the teacher during these activities. Finally, the terms "ritual" and "singing ritual" are defined and the implementation of these singing rituals within the daily and annual routines is explained. The practical part of the thesis consists of a collection of songs. These are the singing rituals with the applied music activities, including a methodical commentary. The choice of the songs was based on folk traditions, with some of the songs and carols being authorial. The research part of the paper is concerned with a survey of the contemporary situation, the way the singing rituals are used during the day and year at a nursery and with the various possibilities of using music activities during these rituals. This part also deals with acquiring sources for the methodical folder concerning these nursery singing rituals. Besides, some ideas for using the rituals are suggested on the DVDs.
