Dlážděnka park - The project of a new design

Presented diploma theses is focused on revitalization of urban park in Prague. This thesis is composed of three parts. Initial part represents review of selected literature dealing with public space, its meaning, historical development, and qualities. In connection to this theme it deals with one specific form of public space, urban park, and public greenery in general. In this chapter qualities of urban public space are examined together with current issues and trends in new urban space designs and revitalizations. The second part is concentrated on the place of interest and its analyses. The core of this part is to collect wide range of information about the area. Emphasis is put on environmental factors, historical development, and space factors of close surrounding. Analyses of current use was done by field investigation and social survey, which was done by questioner. Other information was collected by personal interviews with local representatives and park users. Requirements of local users were collected as well. Design of selected area composes the last part of the theses. Concept of new park layout comes out from characteristics creating current state and is inspired by historical context. At the same time, it is based on requirements of its users. Presented design is drawn up as case study, which is supported by representative sections and visualizations. This part covers design of crucial details as well. To keep a track of design general cost estimate is presented. The core of this design is to create a space which is attractive to its users, who will spend more time in public space and share it with its neighbours.

Unemployment and risk groups in the labor market in the Pardubice region

The thesis deals with the problems of unemployment, focusing on unemployment risk groups on the labour market in a particular region. Pardubice region is the selected region. Analysis of unemployment is made for the period 2000-2015. The position of the Pardubice region is specified as part of a nationwide trend. The basic Elementary characteristics of the time series are used to determine the basic trends in the developments of indicators. In the next part of the work a questionnnaire survey is made among the residents of the selected area, which is a survey of views on unemployment in residence place and personal experience with unemployment and employment

Funding districts of selected cities

This dissertation is focused on description, explanation and creation of financial relationships which are created based on criteria and weights between district and Capital of Prague and between districts and city of Brno. The reference period covers years between 2013 and 2015. In budget of Prague capital these transfers are labelled as subsidy relationship, in the city of Brno these transfers are labelled as non-purposed subsidy. This work identifies criteria which are determinative for amount of assigned income. The next section is an analysis of the management of the Brno-Chrlice and the district of Prague-Reporyje for the years 2007-2015. Part of this work is switching criteria and their weights for the district of Prague and the City of Brno and the conversion of financial relationships to one inhabitant of urban areas and evaluation of this change for the district.

Analysis of tourism development in Europe and its perspectives

The diploma thesis is focused on the development of tourism in Europe during a time period of years 1995-2015. The aim is evalution the development of tourism in European countries using statistical methods - cluster analysis and time series analysis. Review of literature contains a description of the development and importance of tourism, factors affecting tourism in Europe and the definition of European tourist areas. In the first of practical part of the thesis is analyzed tourism in European countries, according to the indicator of total contribution to GDP and total employment for the years 1995 and 2015, according to indicators, the share of international arrivals and the share of revenues from international tourism in the European region. The second part examines the evolution of tourism in selected European countries - the Czech Republic, Croatia and Poland, according to the indicators, the share of tourism in GDP, the number of arrivals of residents and non-residents and a number of accommodation establishments in the years 1995-2013. In conclusion, the results of all analyzes and determine the prospects of European tourism in the coming years.

Abundance of honeybee

Determining place thesis Abundance of bee colonies in the country and the carrying capacity of the land register. Establishing a Connection in Úvaly near Prague with three beekeepers. For these three beekeepers were required to determine reserves of pollen with three visits in the period of May, June and July. Each measurement was carried out always at the three strongest hives. Proven reserves of pollen was performed using photographs of each honeycomb in the hive. After calculating reserves of pollen, to assess the value of honey to the surrounding plants. The conclusion was to determine whether a load for the site Úvaly near Prague is present or not enough bees and suggest possible solutions.

Potential of sustainable development of the Village

This thesis analyzes the sustainable development strategy focusing on the environmental pillar and the subsequent evaluation of the implementation of environmental sustainability in Kladno. The main aim was to evaluate the active and environmental policy perspective of the city.
In the theoretical part are described various laws, documents and instruments relating to environmental policy and sustainable development. The thesis is talking about the area of interest, its historical development, demography, environment, social and cultural fields.
Using concrete examples it is recommended how the environmental management of Kladno could proceed in the future. The proposed recommendations are a result of analysis of all available information which include the needs and requirements of city residents.It is important to update Strategy of environmental policy and introduction of activities from the Sustainable Development Strategy SO ORP Kladno in to practise. Improving of public services and community cohesion. Establishment of school forums in primary schools.
The final part contains the results of a field survey. Questionnaires were handed and collected in combination with controlled interviews.

Support of regional development through the Local Action Group Podchlumí

The Diploma thesis deals with issues of the support of regional development through the Local Action Group Podchlumí, r.a. (LAG Podchlumí).
The goal of this thesis was to explore the contribution of the LAG Podchlumí to quality of life of residents and business development. Assessment of the influence of LAG on regional development has been based on the existence and implementation of the Program of rural development program of the Czech Republic Axis IV. LEADER, which leads to an improvement of management and to mobilization of the natural inner potential of countryside. The Program of rural development represented the main financial source for fruition of LAG projects in the previous programming period.
In this thesis, activities of the LAG Podchlumí and local subjects for support and development of partnership of residents and for public, business, and non-profit communities have been analysed. Implementation of own projects, through which the versatile development of the region, life improvement of residents, increase the attractiveness of the region has been evaluated. In order to get an independent and objective evaluation, an anonymous questionnaire has been conducted among residents of the region Podchlumí. Further, personal observation of the region Podchlumí, a study of professional literature as well as of internal materials of the LAG has been done. The hypothesis that the Local Action Group Podchlumí plays an important role in development of partnership of public administration of municipalities, agricultural subjects, independent agricultural as well as non-agricultural enterpreneurs, and non-profit organizations has been verified on the basis of analysis of realized activities. Support from the Program of countryside development to the region Podchlumí, Measure IV.1.2 Realization of local development strategy, contributed to achieving improvements in quality of life of residents. The greatest support was given to appearance of communities and quality of infrastructure, development of public facilities and services. Financial resources were spent also on modernization and development of agricultural as well as non-agricultural business. In comparison with other LAGs in the district Jičín, the LAG Podchlumí supported the greatest number of projects through the measure IV.1.2 of the Rural development program on realization of local developing strategy. It has been found by means of evaluation of the anonymous questionaire among residents of the region that residents perceive improvement of appearance and life of communities but they are not aware of the fact that many projects have been implemented with the contribution of activities of the LAG Podchlumí. For this reason, the LAG Podchlumí should focus more on propagation of its own activities. Residents of the region are interested in surrounding of their villages.
It is possible to made conclusion that the results of analysis of activities of the LAG authenticated and confirmed correctness of the hypothesis that the Local Action Group Podchlumí plays an important role in development of partnership of public administration of municipalities, agricultural subjects, independent agricultural as well as non-agricultural enterpreneurs, and non-profit organizations.

Analysis of trends in the number and structure of the insured in the Czech Republic

The topic of the thesis is analysis of number and structure development of insured people in Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis is defined by terms related to relevant topic. The second part of the thesis is focused on statistical analysis of selected indicators of development of structure and insured people from 2004 to 2014, done by methods of elementary characteristic of time series, trend functions and extrapolation of statistical analyzes. The last part of the thesis is based on values obtained by statistical analysis of single indicators and provides a complete overview of the number of people insured by selected insurance companies, on which basis an estimation of future trends of number of insured people is done.

Dental Prophylaxis in Dogs

The thesis explores the canine oral cavity, namely, the teeth and the most common dental diseases. Dental injury and disease in dogs is a topic of growing interest in veterinary science. The theoretical section discusses the anatomy of the head, oral cavity and teeth. It presents general knowledge of veterinary dentistry and a list of the most common oral cavity diseases. The practical section explores the suitability and the effectiveness of two prevention methods against the build-up of dental plaque, respectively, against the spread of periodontitis.
Diseases affecting the periodontium are increasingly common in dogs; they are deemed to be the most frequent diseases affecting small animals above five years of age. There are two most common periodontal diseases. The first, gingivitis, is a reversible inflammation of the gum. The second, periodontitis, is essentially irreversible without specialized treatment and often leads to loss of teeth.
The major criterion for maintaining a healthy oral cavity is prevention. Therefore, two methods of home-based prevention are compared in the practical part of the thesis. First, all patients underwent a full-scale dental treatment in a veterinary centre, that is, a comprehensive ultrasonic cleaning and polishing with dental cleaning paste. Then, ascophyllum nodosum, a seaweed also known as Norwegian kelp, was mixed within the daily food ration of half of the patients. In this way, the teeth were being cleaned passively. The second half of the patients had their teeth cleaned with Orozyme, an enzyme-formula oral hygiene gel for dogs, and this way an active teeth cleaning method was explored. Six weeks after the initial dental treatment, a dental plaque identification test was carried out in a veterinary centre. Statistical analysis of the resulting data did not signal substantial differences between the treatment with Norwegian kelp and that of using the oral gel. A combination of the two techniques is, therefore, recommended as the best prevention strategy against plaque build-up.

The institution of leisure time of the youth up to the age 18

The presented thesis deals with the issue of institutions of leisure time for youth up to 18 years, which plays an important role in the implementation of prevention of risk behaviour among children and youth. The aim of the work is to find out, whether the selected institution - DDM Praha 6 (Youth Centre Prague 6) - fulfills its public mission and has sufficient resources for this purpose. The aim of the work was determined on the base of a detailed analysis of internal and external environment of DDM Praha 6, specially based on PEST analysis, Porter's five forces analysis and Analysis of Bronislaw Malinowski. The data for the realization of the analysis were obtained in interviews with the management of DDM Praha 6, in the form of the documentation study and also in the form of the observation of the institution.
