Chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) in cancer treatment
Fejtková, Martina ; Macková, Jana (advisor) ; Fraiberk, Martin (referee)
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) is an artificial T-lymphocyte receptor consisting of extracellular single chain antibody serving as antigen binding site, transmembrane part and intracellular part which activates the cell. Therefore, it has the advantage of targeted specificity of monoclonal antibody and artificially strengthened activation of the T-lymphocyte by activation and costimulation domains. T-lymphocyte with CAR is able to locate and eliminate target cell with given surface antigen and also activate other compartments of the immune system by cytokine production. CAR T-lymphocytes have a huge potential for treatment of hematomalignancies and research also comes with new achievements in CAR modification for elimination of solid tumors.

Termíny fenologických fází volně rostoucích druhů a řízených ekosystémů
Macková, Jana
This bachelor thesis is focused on phenological phases (so-called phenophases) terms of wildly growing species and controlled ecosystems. The entire thesis is elaborated as literature review based on available Czech, Slovak and international scientific literature. The first part is describing the fundaments of the phenological observations and the temporal shift in the onsets of phenophases in the Czech Republic. The second part is focused mainly on phenological shifts at the European level with respect to climate change characterized by increasing temperature trends. In the case of agricultural (so-called controlled) ecosystems, the work is focused on (in our conditions) the most commonly cultivated crops, i.e. winter wheat and spring barley. The wildly growing species in this work were selected to represent deciduous trees that are the most common in European temperate forests, i.e. common oak, European beech, European white birch and European alder.

Macková, Jana ; Lütke Notarp, Ulrike (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
This thesis is called "Bereavement of eminent personalities: Comparison of Media Representation of Václav Havel and Kim Jong-il in the Czech Media." Its focus is on the media coverage of Václav Havel's and Kim Jong-il's death in the Czech Republic National dailies. The theoretical part deals with how mass media use and process media events, especially the one's related to the death of publicly known persons. The thesis also addresses ritual function of media events and their role in society integration. Another chapter of the thesis explains how media inform the public about deaths of well-known people and what their function is in this context. As Václav Havel was and still is called a national hero, a phenomenon of a hero and its development from history up to date is also presented in the paper. The practical part consists of quantitative content analysis which provides concrete topics that were covered by Czech dailies in regards with Václav Havel's and Kim Jong-il's death. The analysis also answers the following questions: Were there any differences in quantity of articles on each leader and the type of topics in any particular media? Did the Czech media tend to compare the personalities of Václav Havel and Kim Jong-il during their coverage? The additional qualitative analysis also examines whether...
