Study of intercalation properties of negative electrode materials
Minda, Jozef ; Kazda, Tomáš (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the research of intercalating properties of negative electrode materials for lithium-ion and sodium-ion accumulators. The main focus of this work is on the kinetic aspects associated with the diffusion processes of lithium in graphitic negative electrode material and sodium in titanates materials in relation to the electrochemical parameters. By comparing the materials in terms of kinetic properties expressed by the diffusion coefficient with using of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in the state of the base material and after creating the passive layer on the electrode, it is possible to determine the application possibilities of the materials and the dependence on the electrochemical parameters. In the thesis is designed a procedure for electrodes preparation, measurement and evaluation of monitored parameters. Within the experimental part, the structural and electrochemical parameters and diffusion coefficients of the studied materials are determined by the proposed method.
Thermomechanical Stress of Lead Free Solder Joint
Libich, Jiří ; Šandera, Josef (referee) ; Starý, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the reliability of lead-free solder joints at a different interconnection structures. The first goal is to design the test cases shape BGA (FC) for testing the strength of lead-free solder joints at shear test in link with design of measuring method to detection shear strength during isothermal aging of lead-free solder joints. Following this shear stressing is investigating influence material and process compatibility, ie. pads finishing, material of solder and integrate of temperature (this mean thermal energy supplied during soldering) to lead-free solder joint strength.
Influence of flame retardant on negative electrodes in lithium - ion accumulator
Buchta, Martin ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Máca, Josef (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with problematics of electrochemical power sources with focus on lithium accumulators, their construction and functioning priciple. It also discusses the safety of li-ion batteries with respect to their flammability. In addition, the flame retarders, which help to lower the flammability, are listed. The thesis describes Cyclic Voltammetry and Galvanostatic Cycling with Potencial which are lithium-ion cell measuring methods. In the last part, the influence of various flame retarders on negative electrode is compared based on the conducted tests.
Testing of a Prototype Device Using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
Fuel cell with metal hydride hydrogen storage
Bruzl, David ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Novák, Vítězslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen storage. It describes the history of fuel cell development, the principle of their function and their individual types, with a focus on low-temperature fuel cells, especially the PEMFC type. Hydrogen storage methods are also described, with a focus on metal hydride storage. The design and assembly of the H-200 fuel cell system is described, its basic characteristics are measured and its differences from the manufacturer's characteristics are discussed. The discharge behavior of the HS-760 metal hydride storage system is also included. This behavior is measured by a program that was developed in the Labview environment. The thesis contains a description of this program. The program and the measured data are in the electronic appendices. One chapter of the thesis is also devoted to the operating modes of the whole system.
Lithium-ion battery: Negative electrode materials based on graphite
Vencelides, Lukáš ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis deals with the isuess related to the lithium-ion batteries. The history of development of lithium-ion batteries, current commercially available and developed types are described in the thesis. The thesis deals in detail with the description of the characteristics and operating principle of lithium-ion accumulators with emphasis on negative electrode and negative electrode materials. The goal of the thesis is technological and electrochemical characterization of graphite negative electrode materials. Two types of natural graphite are used in the thesis, both are potenti-galvanistically analyzed from the point of view of capacitance and current characteristics.
Deposited layers based on lead and cobalt for Li-ion batteries
Dorotík, David ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Máca, Josef (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the principles of operation of lithium ion batteries and their properties when using deposited thin films. The thesis is mainly focused on the formation of thin films using the electrolytic method and subsequently testing the properties of the thin film in an electrochemical cell. The test criteria are mainly the value of the capacity of the prepared electrode and the impact of cycling on the electrode layer itself, where the deposited layer is assessed before cycling and after cycling on an SEM microscope..
