Structural optimization of the heat switch part
Zemek, Albert ; Mašek, Jakub (referee) ; Löffelmann, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of a structure for heat transfer path of miniaturized heat switch. The focus is on production using SLM additive technology. The aim is to assess the possibilities of using metal 3D printing on a part intended primarily for heat transfer. This work presents several concepts of structure arrangement, which are further analysed and evaluated. The results show the potential of additive technologies in this area and the proposed structures meet the heat transfer requirement according to the calculations used.
Light sport aircraft engine replacement
Sandwich panels analysis under compressive load using finite elements methods
Seman, Matúš ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Mališ, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with possibilities of numerical modeling failure mechanism in sandwich panels using final element methods. The first part of the thesis presents theoretical introduction to requirements of sandwich structures and either mathematic formulation of constitutive relations. The purpose of the thesis was to set suitable approcahes of formulation instability problems with applying on laboratory samples. The analysis was done using nonlinear solvers in programes Patran/Nastran and the results have been properly evaluated with experimental work and analytical approach.
Structural optimization of 3D-printed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Sladký, Martin ; Šplíchal, Jan (referee) ; Löffelmann, František (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of the internal wing structure of 3D printed flying wing VUT 714. As a part of this work was performed a load calculation, static strenght test, comparative FEM analysis and subsequently topology optimization was performed. The outcome of this master thesis is a rational design of the wing internal structure based on the load calculation and knowledge of effect of this load on the structure.
Conceptual design of light folding hot-air balloon basket
Zatloukal, Tomáš ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Šplíchal, Jan (advisor)
The master thesis examines the design of small folding hot-air balloon basket intended for up to 3 people. It mainly focuses on the conceptual and structural design and their stress-strain analyses. After an initial introduction to the general terms used in hot-air ballooning, the thesis is focused on collecting information about folding lightweight baskets produces nowadays. The part deals with the conceptual design of the basket begins with the requirements. After choosing the method of basket folding, the thesis focuses on the structural nodes of the basket, and it also talks about the design of the burner frame. The penultimate part of the thesis verifies the selected structural designs from a strength point of view. The conclusion is devoted to the mass analysis.
Topology Optimization of the Hinge on Elastic Foundation
NASTRAN, M.S.C. PATRAN a FUSION 360.
Design of anchor for general aviation aircraft
Buchta, Adam ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Sklenář, Filip (advisor)
Aim of my bychelor’s thesis is to, based on existing anchoring instruments from aviation industry and other fields, design an anchoring instrument, that would exceed or improve qualities of existing anchors in some way. Another ralated aim is to understand the working mechanism of such anchoring systems and also work out a procedure of testing of ground anchors.
Design of mobile stand for suspending of electrodynamic exciter for aeroelastic phenomena testing in aviation
Vojáček, Jan ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with the design of mobile stand for carrying out ground vibration tests in aviation applications. These tests mainly judge the tolerance of aircraft against flutter. The start of the thesis deals with the teoretical background of aeroelasticity together with the historical events that led to the origins of research of such phenomenons. The second part of the tesis clarifies the motivation for designing the stand through overview of simmilar equipment avaiable on the market and through introducing the equipment used at the aircraft testing laboratory at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering. Third part of the thesis states possible approaches to the overal design of the stand and then crosses over to the chapter that discusses the chosen solution of the design. At the end there are introduced the results of modal analysis. These results state the natural frequencies occuring in the range of frequencies that normally occur while testing.
Design of a device enabling the reconnection of a glider to a towing aircraft
Ryba, Filip ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Sklenář, Filip (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a two-part system for connecting a glider and a towing aircraft in the air. The theoretical part deals with a summary of the principles of glider functions and an analysis of the reconnection attempt. The practical part discusses the proposed parts of the concepts that could fulfil the function and their combination forms into a final design solution. The solution is displayed in the drawing documentation and verified by manual and FEM calculations.
Influence of aging on sandwich materials properties
Smékal, Aleš ; Löffelmann, František (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
The first part of the master’s thesis deals with sandwich materials. Starting with composition of parts which the sandwich panel is made of. The thesis continues with loading distribution and testing of entire sandwich panel. The impact of environment is considered as well. The second part is its goal – determine degradation of the properties of sandwich panels with metal sheets and core after 15 years aging in the common atmosphere and aging in moistheat and salt environment by experiment.
