Metabolically syndrome - threat of civilisation diseases

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is the metabolic syndrome as a threat of civilization diseases. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters . The first chapter deals with very general civilization diseases, the causes, and the prevention of various diseases. The second chapter is devoted to comprehensive metabolic syndrome, its characteristics, etiology, occurrence, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The empirical part, implemented quantitative research, based on a questionnaire survey of 102 randomly selected respondents, patients of internal departments and private ambulance Hospital Brandys nad Labem with the objectives to determine how patients are informed about MS who provided them the information and whether they are interested in a greater awareness of the issues. It also determines whether observance of the regime measures for the prevention of MS. The survey shows that respondents are informed about MS the most from the medical staff and the media. There was less than half of them who expressed interest in additional information about MS. From the results it is also clear that respondents fully respected preventive measures regime. The issue of smoking in the medical profession

The aim of this work was to map the extent of knowledge about active and passive smoking and its effects on human organism between paramedic employees of Emergency Medical Service in the Ústí nad Labem Region, coupled together with an evaluation of their interest in further education in this area. An absolute majority of questioned paramedics says that active smoking is very detrimental to overall health, but the question of passive smoking is not considered such a big issue among them. Lectures about smoking and its effects, realized at their workplaces, are not expected nor demanded. Theoretical part of this thesis gives an account of tobacco history, describes constituents of tobacco smoke and its effects on human organism. Furthermore this work deals with possible methods for quitting the smoking, possible prevention approaches and valid legislation in Czech Republic, dealing with the regulation of smoking. The final theoretical part of this work tries to define characteristics and possible dangers of employment at Emergency Medical Service. Nurse's role in patient education after chest operations

My bachelor's dissertation concerns the nurse's role in patient education after chest operations. The theoretical section explains not only the concept of patient education, its use and realisation in Public Healthcare, but also the forms and methods of education. Included is a summary of the most common chest operations, their short clarification and possible post - operative complications. I will also briefly describe the nurse's tasks before and after the operation. The practical section involves structured interviews with patients after chest operations. The aim of the interviews was to find out what information patients were lacking and how well they remembered important details given to them by a nurse. The interviews also contain satisfactory reviews on the nurse's role in patient education after chest operations. The aim of my study was to find out if the nurse's role in patient education was productive. Based on the results, my intention was to suggest better practices both for improving patient education and also to perfect the nurse's role in post - operative care. A superior, comprehensive and individual approach is the key to faster and more complete patient recovery and his/ hers return home. Delivery injuries of women during vaginal delivery from midwife's point of view.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of birth injuries of woman during vaginal delivery. The aim of this thesis was to summarize the knowledge of anatomy of birth canal and the issue of birth injuries. The aim in practical part of the thesis was to find out how is the awareness of woman about this issue, which birth injuries are the most frequent or whether had the preparation of perineum impact to formation ofbirth injuries. Theoretical part briefly describes the anatomy of birth canal, this range is in my opinion sufficient for midwives. There are also described particular kinds of birth injuries and its treatment. Care about birth injuries in puerperium was also described in theoretical part. Particular kinds of prevention of perineum to delivery were also part of theoretical part. In practical part I worked with informations, that I gained from quantitative questionnaire, which was taking place in departements of puerperium in Gynekologicko- porodnická klinika 1. lékařské fakulty a Univerzity Karlovy v Praze. The research shows, that the most common delivery injury is episiotomy and rupture. The theme of my thesis is to look at the role of the father in the expectant mothers during pregnancy and in childbirth. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical section discusses briefly the history of this issue, the preparations during pregnancy on a totally different life, what is the importance of psychoprofylaktické courses, the positives and negatives of the father's presence at birth and what are the roles of the partner for the birth. The main aim of the practical part was to determine whether active or passive help partner during pregnancy affect the mental state of women, whether partners visit antenatal courses, how to evaluate the presence of partner expectant mothers at delivery, what roles meet partner at birth and that the joint participation at birth should affect their relationship. To achieve the aims of quantitative research method has been selected in the form of a questionnaire survey. The questionnaires were handed out to women who have had a partner at birth. (v AJ) Through the bachelor thesis I open the issue of dental literacy for non-medical health workers. The World Health Organization points out the importance of high health literacy and health education. Therefore, I decided to elaborate the final work on this topic and thus find out the level of dental literacy at various clinics. The theoretical part describes health literacy, anatomy and pathology of oral cavity and current knowledge of literacy in dentistry. The basis for the work I drew mainly on the basis of the research in the National Medical Library. From the catalog of the National Medical Library Medvik, the BMC database (Bibliographia medica čechoslovaca), the specialized databases CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) and MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), from a personal source of professional literature, expert consultation with dental doctors and dental hygienists, own experience and other bachelor theses. Caesarian Section on Demand - Yes or No

The topic of this bachelor thesis is "Caesarean section on demand". The thesis deals with women's interest in undergoing the surgery at their own request and with the reasons behind their choice. It consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the history of obstetrics, on Caesarean section, indications for a Caesarean section, possible methods, anesthesia, potential complications and spontaneous delivery. The empirical part is based on quantitative research. By means of a questionnaire, women have been asked whether they are interested in undergoing Caesarean section at their own request and what are the reasons behind their choice. The empirical part further examines whether women are interested in choosing their preferred type of anesthesia and what this type is. The total number of respondents who participated in the survey was 82; they had been chosen randomly. The survey was conducted in January 2014. Its results have shown that only 37,80% of respondents are interested in Caesarean section at their own request. Education of Pregnant Women about Birth Process

This bachelor's thesis focuses on what pregnant women should be taught about a birth process by their midwives in antenatal classes and what important facts and skills make them mentally and physically sufficiently prepared for the birth process. It studies how well educated about the birth process after attending childbirth education classes selected group of pregnant women actually is. The primary aim of this bachelor's thesis was to describe and analyse efficiency of Czech antenatal classes in the field of preparedness for birth of selected group of pregnant women and to find out if these pregnant women were subsequently able to use their new skills during their birth process and if the given education was in their opinion sufficient and comprehensible. Thanks to this bachelor's thesis we have found out that the efficiency of education in the antenatal classes in the Czech Republic is not sufficient. The rate of well educated women is 75 %, the given education was in their opinion very well comprehensible and sufficient. However the ability to use the skills during their birth process wasn't satisfactory.
