Rigid body simulation
Zvirinský, Peter ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee)
The object of this work is to create an easily extendible rigid body simulation engine. The engine will contain real-time collision detection and rea- listic collision handling. It will be able to simulate common nature forces such as gravity, related different types of friction and resting forces. The simulation engine will mainly focus on spheres and their movement influenced by the forces mentioned before. The part of this work will be as well the examination of diffe- rent types of optimalization of such tasks as collision detection and use of parallel approach. 1
Data extraction from document scans
Macháč, Bohuslav ; Kolomazník, Jan (advisor) ; Krajíček, Václav (referee)
In this work I developed an application capable of extracting data from scanned documents. For optical character recognition, I used external OCR engine Tesseract, but it can be easily changed. I use document templates, which have informations about data areas and its data types. I tried to automatize most of the steps which are required to extract data or create new data template. User can improve or change results of these steps. For export from application I implemented components, which export data to XML, HTML or plain text. Another components can be easily added, to adapt application for various uses.
Character recognition of machine-written documents
Kindermann, Hubert ; Blažek, Jan (advisor) ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee)
In the present thesis we solve the problem of symbol extraction and recognition from printed documents digitized by the scanner or camera. We introduce a noise resistant algorithm of document lighting normalization. We continue with the extraction of individual characters from the document and their recognition with a system of feedforward multilayer neural networks. We also focus on processing of the resulting set of recognized characters, which is necessary for further use of the extracted text. The last step is correction of the output based on surrounding letters of each character. We have successfully implemented an automatic system containing all the above components.
Object selection in raster image
Fiala, Ondřej ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee)
A common task solved during a work with raster images is a object selection. Results obtained from this task are used in a number of applications - from analysis of the growth of human settlements to automatic medical diagnosis. This work describes in detail the object selection in raster images and focuses on active contours models. This work also consider extending the graphic program GIMP, bringing a new plug-in for object selection in raster images. The solution is based on the original classic model of active contours, the extended model using a gradient vector field (GVF) and proposed improvements. The work presents results obtained by this tool and brings recommendations for future development of active contours models.
Volume data editor
Kavalík, Jiří ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee) ; Krajíček, Václav (advisor)
In the present work we want to design and implement simple tool for basic editing of volume data like resizing, rotating, tresholding retouching, which could be extended as needed. Currently, there are tools for volume data visualisation and simple editors for modding computer games with voxel-based graphics. There is not an editor with basic set of tools for editing volumes in resolution of medical scanners available to common user. The designed and implemented editor can run on common hardware and oth ers set of simple brushes and filters to the user and means to implement diferent tools as plugins for C# programmer.
Tile editor
Mikeš, Marek ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee) ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and implement a system which can edit planar tiles. It can replace some tiles by their instances, or pattern, preserving continuity on the edges. Editor of floor conguration, editor of tiles (instances) and component visualizating a bigger part of floor will be necessary. The application will use square and rectangle tiles. It will have at least basic graphical editing commands and support for automatic or semiautomatic satisfaction of continuity between neighbouring tiles.
