Social services for family with children in South Moravia region

I focused my work on analysis of social services for family with children in one region in Czech Republic - South Moravia, with emphasis on services for threatened family or depressed family. My work is based on and has foot-hold on social service law. The objective of my work was overall review of present circumstances in providing social services for family with children in the respective region. Intent of my diploma work is giving to readers a basic overview about theoretical resort or let say a fall-back concerning a social services issues with family with children, especially with political and legal resorts and processes of social services deployment planning, and analyze current offerings of social services for family with children in South Moravia region. The essential parts of my analyses are demographic analyses based on official reports issued by Czech statistical office and analyses of Medium-term deployment plan of social services i South Moravia region in view family with children. Ačkoliv jsou Romové součástí české společnosti již několik staletí, postoj Cechů k tomuto etniku se stále ukazuje jako rozporuplný. V projevených postojích příslušníků majority vůči romské menšině lze pozorovat širokou škálu často protichůdných tendencí. Od aktivistické rétoriky zapálených bojovníků za práva menšin, přes romanticky laděný obdiv k životnímu stylu Romů, až po rasistické a diskriminační jednání, jehož nositelé řadí všechny Romy do skupiny obtížných a nepřizpůsobivých "spoluobčanů". Soužití Romů a Cechů je stále plné konfliktů a mnoho Romů se následkem neschopnosti zvládnout nároky majoritní společnosti ocitá na okraji. Na okraji pracovního trhu, vzdělávacího systému, ale i městské čtvrti či města, ve kterém dosud žili. Romské rodiny se v posledních patnácti letech často nacházejí v situaci sociálního vyloučení, které je charakterizováno nedostatkem příležitostí stát se součástí společnosti nebo sníženou schopností na tyto příležitosti dosáhnout. Příčin propadu romských rodin na pomyslné sociální dno je mnoho a příslušnost k odlišnému etniku je jen jednou z nich. Navíc je v prostředí dlouhodobě koncentrované nezaměstnanosti, špatných bytových podmínek, nízkého vzdělání, kvalifikace a sociálně patologických jevů obtížné rozpoznat příčiny od následků. Integration of disabled students at Charles University in Prague since 1989

Although the situation of disabled students at universities is generally improving, the social integration of these students is still difficult in quite a number of cases. This thesis is based on the premise that one of the most important conditions of a full and fruitful experience of student life is that students should be well-informed. In view of the advantages of modern information technologies (speed, accessibility, low cost) more and more information is being conveyed via electronic media. Students are expected to take an active approach to obtaining information from these media, but as with other forms of mass diffusion of information, here too there is a risk that specific information for minority groups, including disabled students, will be overlooked. Furthermore, physical disability represents a constraint on students that makes them particularly dependent on prompt, accessible and correct information. The integration of disabled students into the university is conditioned by the creation of equal opportunities for study and other activities that are part of university life. Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem stárnutí a péče o staré lidi v rodinném prostředí. Co rodinu k péči o seniora vede a jaká jsou úskalí této péče. Jaké potřeby senior má a jak mu rodina může pomoci je uspokojit. Dále jaké potřeby má rodina jako pečující subjekt. Praktická část se věnuje tomu, jaké konkrétní pomoci se rodinám pečujícím o seniora může dostat na Semilsku a jak jí využívají. Uvedeny jsou i právní předpisy týkající se této oblasti a na případech z praxe je názorně ukázáno jaké instituce pomoc poskytují a jak jí pečující využili.

Psychosocial adaptation to paralysis after spinal cord impairment

Coping with life crisis situations and adapting to them is a topic of great human interest and importance. Sustaining a spinal cord injury with the consequent lifelong paralysis may be considered to be one of the most serious life events due to its devastating and wide-ranging impact on people's lives. Spinal cord injury is a traumatic injury, which typically occurs suddenly and without any warning. Its consequences present an enormous physical, social and psychological trauma which the individual has to confront and come to terms with. The changes caused are life-long and affect every aspect of a person's life. Paralysis leads to wheelchair dependence for mobility. In addition, the individual with a spinal cord impairment may become dependent on others for help and assistance in order to be able to carry out most of the tasks of daily living. All the losses and changes caused by the injury have profound effects on both the spinal cord injured person's social roles and those of their loved ones. Ensure of individual in traditional village comunity

The thesis deals with the topic of securing individuals in different contexts. In the first charter the social structure of a village is introduced. The particular position of a local community member influenced his/her opportunities of financial securing, rights and responsibilities. Next the work deals with relationships within the village community and in the line of the ruler, the nobility and villeins. Different strategies of the civil service are also presented. Finally three ways of securing an individual are described - financial security after entering into a marriage, provision after retirement, the right of heritage and final settlement. The Developing of the Communication Skills of Social Workers

This thesis deals with the theme of possibilities to develop communication skills of health social workers in Prague hospitals. The aim of the study is to find out what are the possibilities of education available for health social workers in hospitals. It also discuss whether health social workers are actively interested in the development of their communication skills and what resources are used most often. The thesis describes the basic concepts and the competence of health social worker. Next part is about education and laws which oblige to lifelong learning. The thesis also focuses on self-reflection and supervision from the perspective of other sources of education - self-knowledge. Practical part of the thesis deals with the research between health social workers in Prague hospitals. The aim of the research is to find out, whether these workers are actively educated in communication skills. The paper includes analysis and interpretation of results, discussion and conclusion of whole thesis. Supported employment and social enterprise

Na počátku roku 2006 České republice působí 3 sociální firmy, několik set výrobních družstev invalidů a přibližně 40 poskytovatelů podporovaného zaměstnávání a příbuzných služeb. Poskytovatelé podporovaného zaměstnávání jsou neziskové organizace, nejčastěji občanská sdružení, sociální firmy jsou dceřiné projekty neziskových organizací a výrobní družstva invalidů jsou soukromé firmy. Většina poskytovatelů podporovaného zaměstnávání je sdružena v České unii pro podporované zaměstnávání, střešní organizaci, která si klade za cíl podněcovat rozvoj podporovaného zaměstnávání, poskytovat know how, vzdělávat odborníky a kontrolovat kvalitu poskytovaných služeb v oblasti podporovaného zaměstnávání. Několik desítek výrobních družstev invalidů je sdruženo ve Svazu českých a moravských výrobních družstev (SČMVD), střešní organizaci, která podporuje činnost a rozvoj sociálních družstev: je realizátorem Projektu pomoci a podpory zaměřeného především k seberealizaci osob se zdravotním postižením na Moravě a Vysočině, jehož cílem je komplexní předávání zkušeností v oblasti zakládání a řízení sociálního družstva, vzdělávání lidí chystajících se sociálně podnikat, asistence při získávání finančních prostředků a pod.
