Finland is nowadays a prosperous Nordic country, a member of the European Union, supporter of the EU-Russian relations and is one of the most developed economies in the world. Finland still has a unique role in maintaining friendly relations with Russia and therefore we can assume that Finland does not pursue NATO membership, because it would most definitely be perceived as threatening by the Russians. The Ukrainian crisis changed views of many people on Russian foreign relations and made the public, politicians and entire countries question what is Russia capable of and whether it should be perceived as a threat. Because of the Ukrainian Crisis, opinions in Finland are changing and developing and the NATO membership is seen from a brand new perspective and the much treasured policy of nonalignment is being reconsidered as well. That is the issue that I am going to research and examine in this thesis. I will describe changes in public opinion on NATO membership and general safety of Finland, because this public opinion has varied over the last decade and the Ukrainian crisis was the reason for these changes. In order to find answers to these issues, I performed a complex analysis of information coming from several sources, as well as results of research of public opinion and interviews with Finnish...

Stoila, Martin ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Knutelská, Viera (referee)
The thesis discusses the causes of the sudden FDI drop in Slovakia during the economic crisis when R. Fico's government was in power. The drop came after Euro adoption, deep structural reforms and overall attractiveness of the country for the foreign investors. Mainly qualitative methods are utilized in the paper - coding was found to be the most appropriate method to analyze the reasons companies stated for leaving the country. Almost 64% of the investors mentioned crisis as the main cause of their departure. It was followed by company's strategy, the government's policies, strong currency and old machinery and technologies used in the factory. Thus, the hypothesis, which stated that the main reason for FDI plunge were policies of then government in combination with effects of economic crisis, was not confirmed.

Mariničová, Eva ; Knutelská, Viera (advisor) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
This bachelor thesis called "Danish and Swedish reactions to the Brexit referendum outcome" deals with the immediate reactions of two member countries on the outcome of British referendum and reflections on initial negotiations. The decision of British voters did not only cause a political earthquake on British side, the departure of Great Britain has no parallel in sixty year history of European communities. It is clear, that this decision will have major implications on both the internal cohesion of the European Union and the position of each member state towards European integration. The aim of this thesis is to analyse declarations and statements of Danish and Swedish government officials and observe, whether these participants mention these particular factors, that being the economic interconnection, similar perception of European integration and certain closeness in EU decision-making as their reasons. Both Denmark and Sweden had always been considered Great Britain's closest allies, they share significant economic bonds between each other and have always been considered as countries with the highest inclination towards Euroscepticism, for this reason I expect these factors to be discussed. Thesis concludes that these factors do appear, mainly aspect concerning economic interests.
