Bibliographic note KLIMEŠOVÁ, Tereza. The Implications of the Intervention in Iraq for the United States' Policy of Democracy Promotion. Master thesis. Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of International Studies, Supervisor Ph.Dr. Jan Hornát, Ph.D. Abstract Democracy promotion has been an integral part of US foreign policy for more than a century. Particularly at the end of the 20th century, democracy flourished worldwide as autocratic regimes collapsed at large and scholars talked about the "End of History." Nevertheless, the current situation is very different, and substantial democratic backsliding is observable. Many scholars are tracing the origins of this decline to the Bush's Freedom Agenda, particularly the intervention in Iraq in 2003, arguing that it was the initial turning point for US democracy promotion. However, this thesis argues that the invasion and the subsequent war were pivotal only in part. The most visible implications were within the public perception of democracy promotion. Semiotics of Photography. Innovation proposal for art education
Klimešová, Tereza ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Vančát, Jaroslav (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to demonstrate that photography as a visually figurative medium can be adequately used in teaching arts (Art Education). The first step is familiarizing ourselves with the Framework Education Programmes (RVP), the official documents at state level. Claim that photography is overlooked is supported with research of relevant documents dealing with the education of art. Another important step in this regard is to determine the methods used. In this respect I will focus on the concepts put forward by doc. J. V ančát who co-authored writing on RVP in the area of Art and Culture and semiotic pedagogy which is consistent in many regards with the afore-mentioned method. Semiotic analysis of photography serves to discover the potential of photography; this will be done from the Peirce's point of view. Another source is then B. Lazroe's work revealing the elements of photography for work with students in art education. In conclusion, I'll try to connect these particular components.
Use of yuxtaposed compounds in Spanish journalistic texts.
KLIMEŠOVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of juxtapositions in composition in Spanish journalistic texts. It is divided into two parts; the first is theoretical, describes in detail the delineation of forms in composition, followed by the description of types of these with special regards to juxtapositions in composition. The research part is fully coherent to the theoretical part and deals with the analysis of six journalistic sections, showing the number of appearance of juxtapositions in composition, and also other forms. The main source for research was the highest-circulation Spanish daily newspaper - El País.
