Juříková, Lucie ; Kaplánek, Michal (advisor) ; Ortová, Marie (referee)
From the beginning of 90s when the Declaration of the Rights of the Child got its relevance, many young people had taken part in different projects initiated by non-governmental organizations; they lead their own projects, advocate for their own interests and the others, speak publically at conferences, help running organizations and take decisions about what should happen in their own community. The question which remains is if it is meaningful participation. This work derives from theory of Roger A. Hart, who was the first in early in early 90s to trigger critical debate on youth participation by launching his model "Ladder of Participation". This model draws attention to the importance of non-participatory approach and participatory approach in the framework of youth participation where shared information and adequate opportunities for young people to take decision must be supported for meaningful participation to take its place. The object of the case study is the youth participation at non-governmental youth organization INEX - Association for Voluntary Activities by researching how defined criteria such as shared information and shared decision are fulfilled.
