Comparison of dog owners' attitude to oral care in themselves and their dogs

Aims: The aim of this work is to find out how people take care of their teeth, what aids they use, how much they spend for them and how they approach the care of the oral cavity of their dogs. Introduction: Human and veterinary dentistry are very similar. Human teeth, like a dog's teeth, need proper care. Although the offer of dental services and aids has been increasing recently, they are not used properly and the dog owners do not have enough information about oral health and the necessary care. Methodology and set: I compiled a questionnaire for dog owners and inserted into the app Google form. It was divided into two parts. The first part was focused on the care of the dog's oral cavity, the second on the care of the owner's oral cavity. The questionnaire was distributed via the social network Facebook and inserted into groups that deal with dogs. 764 responses were recorded. Individual questions with answers were processed in Excel into tables and graphs. Results: Attendance at dental surgeries is relatively low among owners. Only 13 % of owners and 18 % of dogs regularly undergo preventive examinations and dental hygiene. As for home dental care, which falls into the hands of the owners themselves, there are also major shortcomings in this area. Only 44 % of owners follow the recommendations...

Zhodnocení stavu povodí Kovalovického potoka

This bachelor thesis The evaluation of the river basin condition of the Kovalovický potok deals with monitoring of concrete water quality indicators. The following parameters were observed: dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, temperature, nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, orthophosphates and chemical oxygen demand. The monitoring took place between the March 2017 and February 2018 on eight profiles, where the water was taken. The theoretical part is focused on general information about water and its basic sorting, surface water quality and its pollution and water erosion issues. Then, there are selected indicators of surface water quality and their characteristics, as well as chosen legislation dealing with surface water pollution. The practical part is concentrated on the river basin characteristic, description of the sampling points and description of the field and laboratory work. An important part is the results of the measurement and discussion in which these results are compared with ČSN 75 7221 and NV 401/2015 Sb. The results show that the largest pollution is caused by sewage that is illegally discharged into the watercourse.
