The volunteers in Thomayerova s hospital - how the medical staff perceives them

This diploma paper concerns volunteering in a hospital. In the theoretical part of the paper, we will explain pivotal notions related to volunteering in Czech Republic, we will present historical context of voluntary activity and define today's legal framework. The second chapter is devoted to concrete programme "Volunteers in hospitals". The mentioned programme describes in detail its gradual implementation in Czech hospitals. The empirical part aims at finding out how the medical staff of particular departments of Thomayerova hospital in Prague perceives the volunteers and the volunteer programme. Both qualitative and quantitative methods (focus group, individual interviews, questionnaires) were applied to the research. Combination of both approaches contributed to compact and complex conclusion. Key words: volunteering, volunteers in hospital, volunteer centre, medical staff, hospital.
Alcohol consumption and prevention of dependence in CR and France

Despite its social tolerance alcohol remains the drug of all consequences of harmful drinking . In developed European countries is cause 8-10 % of disease and injury. It brings the costs associated with health care and health insurance. Harmful effects of alcohol tend to pronounced in disadvantaged social groups , and therefore contribute to inequalities in health. However, direct injury to constitute a share any negative consequences. Alcohol consumption has a negative impact on economic development and society as a whole. For these reasons, the fight against harmful and hazardous consumption as a priority in public health programs many Member States and the EU as a whole. Czech Republic and France represent two completely different sociocultural environment. Residents have different eating habits, different lifestyles and different degree of tolerance to consume alcoholic beverages. They differ in the extent of individual consequences of harmful use and, therefore, procedures and objectives alcohol policy. Based on the statistical data on consumption , consequences and prevention measures can assess the gravity of the situation in both countries and compare problems of excessive consumption of health and socio-economic viewpoint. Nurses experiences with deaf patient and recommendations for an effective communication with deaf in medical facility

This bachelor thesis whose name is Nurses experiences with deaf patient and recommendations for an effective communication with deaf in medical facility was conceived as pilot research. This thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and experimental. Theoretical part has several chapters, which deal with anatomy of ear, physiology of hearing, deaf in Czech Republic and communication. The last part of this chapter describes certain situations, where is possible to meet the deaf at medical facility. In experimental part there is evaluated the results of research. The source of information was acquired from questionnaires, which were fulfilled by nurses at hospitals in Praha and Pribram. The most important result is that more than of respondents are not able to communicate using sign language.
Collaboration of organisations in family strengthening in the area of competence of the Regional Caritas Jičín

The diploma thesis aims to describe the process of family strengthening of two services provided by Regional Caritas Jičín. It also compares the services using a good practice approach, which is defined by multidisciplinary cooperation and a network of activities of various organizations. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the process of family strengthening and explains terms such as family and its functions, multi-problem family, the vulnerability of contemporary family, family typology, or various socio-pathological phenomena. In this part, the objectives, principles, and legal framework of family strengthening are described. Two researched social activation services providing family strengthening are introduced. The setting of the system of care in Czechia is outlined, including its current issues and the ongoing transformation. Moreover, the innovative concepts of cooperation and methods of social work are introduced, i.e. multidisciplinary teams, child protection conferences, family conferences, or the Cochem model. This bachelor work deals with the question of life meaning in theelderly period ofhumanlife. The work is divided in theoretical and practical part. Thetheoretical part give san overview of oldage concept, itsperiodization and charakteristics of concret paging periods, changes in oldage and theprocessofadaptation to oldage.Furthermore, in this part ofthework, there are chapters dealing with topicscloselyrelated to the mening oflife, such as qualityoflife, the koncept of aktive oldage, values, goals, needs and autonomy. The ideas of V. E. Frankl on the mening of life are presented in details as the key authority in the field of life meaning study and the founder of existentialanalysis and logotherapy. Ideas of other important figures in this field of study are mentioned as well, including F. Nietzsche, C.G.Jung, E.H.Erikson and A. Adler.
