Spatial distribution and morphometric features of blockfields in southern part of the Brdy Mts.
Hotový, Jan ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Dlabáčková, Tereza (referee)
This paper deals with a topic of blockfields in southern part of the Brdy Mountains. The aim of this work is to describe an origin of the block fields generally, characterise their spatial distribution, morphometric and structure features, including their specific thermal regime. Another task is to characterise and classify the block fields in the southern part of Brdy Mts and compare them with the similar accumulations described in literature. 30 block fields were identified in this area. Morphometric analysis based on digital elevation model revealed that block fields in the southern part of Brdy Mts are sized roughly from 200 to 5 500 m2 and occur mostly at 725 - 750 m a. s. l. on steep or very steep slopes with a prevailing southern- -west and west exposure. An additional exploration of a bedrock confirmed that block fields here consist of conglomerate and silicite rocks. The results provide information about paleoclimate of Brdy Mts and their surroundings. Key words: block fields, Brdy Mountains, frost weathering, morphometric characteristics
Blockfields of the neovulcanic pits in Northern Bohemia: location, morphology, weathering rate.
Plecháč, Petr ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Hartvich, Filip (referee)
Blockfields as an indicator of landscape development with a specific microclimate is presented in many scientific publications. This diploma thesis is focused on finding the relationship between the hardness of stone blocks and the intake of potential radiation, with an assessment of morphology, location and local conditions. Within the selected study areas in Northern Bohemia was recorded a total of 73 blockfields, of which 22 sites were selected for further investigation. From the results of the statistical analyses was shown the relationship between the income potential of radiation and the degree of ventilation of stone blocks. The analyses also show the relationship between the hardness of stone blocks in the blockfields and the orientation of the blockfields to the world's sides, which proved to be significant. The tests performed by the analyses of each third (high) stone seas have shown the possibility of moving rock blocks downhill.
Automatic classification of valley-networks types in the Czech Republic
Albert, Daniel ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Lysák, Jakub (referee)
Valley-network type is a system of valleys forming some specific planform pattern. The pattern itself gives an information about the character of the terrain - rectangular type of network indicates tectonic disruption, trellis type indicates layers of different rock resistance, parallel type indicates steep slope and dendritic type indicates homogeneous lithology. These predispositions are general and are not valid for every single type of valley network, but classification of some compact area based on those four basic types could reveal its lithological-tectonic conditions. In order to make such classification correct and minimize the degree of subjectivity, an automatic classification is the best option. Valley networks in the area of the Czech republic have not been classified yet. So main aim of this master thesis is to create a suitable method of an automatic classification of the focused area. This classification method works with concrete geometric and topologic indicators which are: junction angle, sinuosity, length ratio, catchment elongation and elongation ratio. Key words: valley, valley network, drainage pattern, dendritic pattern, parallel pattern, trellis pattern, rectangular pattern, geomorphometry, terrain analysis, ArcHydro, automatic classification, morphometric indicators,...
Tors and their microforms
Zemanová, Lucie ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Vočadlová, Klára (referee)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on the general characteristics of tors and their microforms. There are two theories of tor's origin: one-stage origin and two-stage origin. Tors are developed all around the world, most often in temperate climatic zone. They show a wide range of sizes, shapes and locations. Tors are found on hill summits and on valley-sides. Tors occur on various lithologies, particularly on crystalline rocks. Many microforms can be found on the surface of tors. The most common microforms include weathering pits, tafoni, karren and honeycombs. The stage of their development enables microforms to be utilised for relative dating. Key words: tors, microforms, deep weathering, slope retreat
Conception of PG issue in the contemporary Czech textbook for higher classes of secondary grammar schools and high schools: Status and suggestions to improve
Lukášová, Vendula ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Matoušková, Milada (referee)
In life each of us meets with textbook, although it does not always have to be quality textbook. For evaluation the quality of textbooks used a rating system that can be undertaken. This work deals with the evaluation of physical geography textbooks for grammar schools. The goal is to determine what shape the concept of physical geography in textbooks and propose solutions to improve the situation. The work examines fourteen contemporary czech books used in teaching (textbooks, summaries for graduation). For ratings are used formal methods such educational research as measuring text difficulty or measuring didactic structure. Based on the results, it is possible to determine what textbook is suitable for teaching physical geography and how it would look perfect textbook. This work could bring geography teachers some advice on choosing textbooks. Key words: evaluation textbook, physical geography, textbook for grammar school
Worksheets for terrain lessons of geomorphological topics in geography at higher grades of grammar schools
Lorencová, Markéta ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Šobr, Miroslav (referee)
This diploma thesis discusses the status of fieldwork from geomorphological topics of geography on Czech grammar schools. It was necessary to place geomorphological topics in the geographical curriculum of the Czech education. The Czech Framework Education Programme for grammar schools was analysed as well as the School Education Programmes from 20 randomly picked grammar schools across the country. A constructed questionnaire was filled in by teachers of grammar school Gymnázium, Nad Štolou 1, Praha 7. Thanks to this questionnaire the implemented curriculum of geomorphological topics on this school was assessed. The most appropriate approaches and forms of fieldwork were determined by the research of literature. These approaches were applied while creating new worksheets for fieldworks from geomorphological topics. One of these worksheets as well as the fieldwork were realized with students of Gymnázium, Nad Štolou 1, Praha 7. Participating students evaluated the fieldwork through a given questionnaire. Its results were later compared and discussed with literature and Czech curricular documents. key words: fieldwork, worksheet, active forms of learning, geomorphology
