PhDr. Alena Míšková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This dissertation describes the organisation and the influence of censorship in the theater during the time of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and is based on the political, administrative and cultural history of the given period. The purpose of the work isn't only to describe the structure of censorship in the theater, but also to relate its significance to the world of theater and its repertoire using concrete examples of Czech theater in Prague. As a result of interpreting censored theater scripts performed during the protectorate period of Prague, the work contains detailed characteristic and thematic categorization of the most frequent expurgations. Through the use of theater memoirs and police records, the work shows the censorship's influence on the everyday history of Prague theater. The procedure of censorship used at this time reveals the main tendency of cultural policy, the categorization of expurgations reflects the everyday history of the protectorate. Periodical press in Kolin region during the period 1945-1948

The bachelor thesis Periodical Press in the Kolín Region during the period 1945-1948 focuses on the changes of the structure of periodical press in the Kolín region after the Second World War. The first part of the thesis describes the geographic and demographic characteristics of the Kolín region, which helps to create a complex picture of the Kolín region in the first half of the twentieth century. In the second part, the thesis describes the periodical press in the Kolín region before 1945. The Kolín region had already been rich in periodical press in the second half of nineteenth century. In the period of the First Republic, the most significant part of the press structure was the press of political parties, second to that, were the periodicals of non-political organizations such as Sokol or tourists. During the Second Republic and especially during the Second World War the gradual cessation of regional press resulted in the complete destruction of its structure. In the third part of the thesis, the situation in the Kolín region after Second World War is described. Comparison of annual reports of Bauer media and Samona media publishers

This bachelor thesis deals with the annual report as an instrument for accounting, financial and marketing purposes. It focuses on the use of annual reports as to meet the Czech accounting law and as an instrument of marketing communication. The role of the annual report as a support by forming the corporate identity is being highlighted and mentioned often over the last few years. The aim of this thesis is to focus on this fact and determine whether the companies make a use of this function or not. This work describes the basic functions and content of annual reports focusing on the latest trends. Its main objective is to discover whether the compared publishers Bauer Media and Sanoma Media use the annual reports only to fulfill the obligations imposed by law, or also as a marketing tool that would help to strengthen the brand's position. Bauer Media and Sanoma Media were chosen for this comparison because of their international presence and a similar position in the Czech magazines market. The bachelor thesis titled "Development of Printed Media in Italy in the Years 1943-1950" is an analysis of the historical conditions of media publishing in Italy after the defeat of fascism. It is an attempt to reconstruct the main events that took place in printed media, particularly newspaper, in the period after the fall of fascism and the end of the Second World War. The thesis maps the relationship between the media and political and economic power. It discusses the system of printed media and who and under what conditions could work as a journalist at that time. There is also a description of the methods used for the organisation of journalists. The thesis starts with a brief historical overview of the social situation in the era of the beginning, rise and fall of the totalitarian regime. After the defeat of fascism and Nazism, Italy was facing the difficult task of dealing with its own past and establishing new rules. The attempt to cleanse the society and media (known as the "purification of journalism") was a long and complicated process. Magazine Časopis turistů was an association periodical of the Czech Tourist Club (KČT) - the greatest Czech tourist association in Austria-Hungary, which was established by Czech defence organizations - National Unions. By their activity in the Kingdom of Bohemia, they wanted to support Czech minorities in mixed Czech - German areas. Magazine Časopis turistů was first published in 1889; half a year after the organization was founded. This monthly magazine used to bring touristic articles and information for members of the association concerning the area of travelling, other similar associations, actions within the organization, traveller's literature, world exhibitions, etc. Editorial staff cared about quality and variety of the texts that were often written by the members themselves. Sometimes they cooperated with leading Czech writers and travellers too. Content of the issue was oriented to support Czech tourism and it encouraged the readers to courage and self-confidence to assert themselves in mixed areas as Czech tourists. This thesis titled "Media transformation in the Broumov region between 1945 and 1949" looks at the development of print media after World War II in the Broumov region. To help paint a clearer picture of the topic, the first part maps out the situation of the media before 1945. The population of the area was demographically mixed and Germans were a clear majority. It was consequently difficult for the Czech minority to influence public life and altogether impossible for the Czech press to publish. The thesis aims to capture the transformation of German media production towards a Czech one. To explain wider circumstances of the time period, the second part outlines the socio - political situation in Czechoslovakia in the years following World War II. This part also briefly describes how print media was run and administered by the government between 1945 and 1949. The third part examines in more detail the situation in the Broumov region after World War II. It describes such events as the expulsion of Germans, the settling of a new population, the confiscation of German property and the process of creating a new citizen society. The final thesis "Rosh chodesh - Monthly magazine of Jewish community in Prague (1990- 2005)" aims to analyze in a specific period Jewish monthly Rosh Chodesh published by the Federation of Jewish Communities in Bohemia and Moravia, and later also by the Jewish community in Prague. The theoretical part provides general information about the journal, its history, purpose, publishing, columns, editorial board, authors, distribution, graphic design of the magazine and its financing. The research section gives an insight into the thematic composition of the magazine Rosh Chodesh and its changes over the years 1990-2005, graphic design magazine changes and changes in the composition of the editorial. For the analysis we always selected one issue from each quarter of the entire analyzed period, total, therefore, the analysis underwent 64 issues of the magazine.

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Magazine Nová Praha in 1968 and 1969" deals with the biweekly magazine Nová Praha, which was published by the Central National Committee, or the National Committee of Prague, between 1951 and 1969. It was originally a title for the employees of said administrative authority, but over time became a regional magazine intended for the general public and provided information about current events in the metropolis. Its main topics were local administration, construction in the city, expanding the city's transport system and the culture and history of Prague. The introduction describes the inception, development, nature and thematic focus of this periodical. The next chapter is devoted to the historical circumstances, the situation in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s and the media environment of the time. This bachelor thesis focuses on the persona of the communist journalist Vojtěch Dolejší. It aims to introduce this persona, describe the most important phases of his life and put him in a historical, medial and socio-political context. A very important part of the thesis is also a thorough analysis of selected monographs of Dolejší. The first section of the thesis is focused on Dolejší's life and his work for various Czechoslovak journals and magazines as well as his membership in numerous national and international organizations. The second part of the thesis comprises of the critical analysis of the selected monographs. In this section, the emphasis is put foremost on the main traits of his writing style.
