Reconstruction of sewer in Brno-City

The master thesis deals with the reconstruction of the sewerage in Brno-city, between the streets Roosveltova and Solniční. Due to the location of sewer in build-up area, the reconstruction will be performed by tunnelling technology – shield excavation. The thesis is mainly dedicate with design and structual design of sewer lining. The mathematical model is created in software Plaxis 8.2 2D.
Proposal of restoration measures in Slubice River basin based on ecohydromorphological survey

This diploma thesis deals with ecohydrological state of the streams as an answer river habitat quality to exploitation, regulation and otherwise modification (flood-defence engineering, impoundment, river restoration, climate change or the spread of alien species), and with revitalization of water bodies for the purpose of elimination and mitigation of the negative consequences river ecosystem modification and improvement of ecological function river ecosystems in landscape. Focus is on the Slubice river basin in Landscape Protected Area Žďárské vrchy where field survey ecomorphological methods EcoRivHab a HEM was applied. On the basis of the obtained outputs antropogenic transformation of the river network, water quality, hydrological condition, definition of the reference state and assessment of the river patterns and changes of the length on the basis of the historical maps and ecomorphological survey outputs in the area of interest strongly antropogenic changed watercourse reaches was identified which require restoration and suitable restoration measures was proposed to the purpose of WFD goals attaining.
Pěčín dam as a way of adaptation to drought

Climate change is currently one of the most discussed and burdensome global problems. One of its impacts is drought. The drought is already noticeable in the Czech Republic and its effects are supposed to increase. Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions are also dealing with this danger. One of the possible measures to provide sufficient water for this area in the future is a construction of a new dam. However, the Pěčín dam creates many contradictory reactions. Most criticized is its location. The dam affects not only the first and second zone of the Protected Landscape Area, but also one of the Sites of Community Importance. This thesis summarizes important information about the intended project and its alternatives and evaluates their pros and cons. The thesis is based on qualitative research. The research was conducted with semi-structured interviews with interested specialists from two opinion sites - for and against the intent. The conclusion of this thesis is that there is no need to build a dam or any other alternative in the present, because there is enough water in the examined area. Assessment and proposal of the river restoration measures in urban and rural landscape

This diploma thesis deals with a proposal and evaluation of stream restoration measures as an effective tool to achieve good ecological status within the requirements of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/ES. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to propose stream restoration measures at the Lišanský Brook based on evaluation of hydromorphological status, analysis of land-use changes and anthropogenic modification of the river basin, runoff and water quality assessment. Attention is also paid to the evaluation of the restoration measures in the selected localities on Botič and Litovický Brook. The main method used for the design and assessment of stream restoration measures is a field survey using the HEM methodology (Langhammer, 2014). Land-use analysis and stream adjustment analysis are based on available historical maps. Based on the results, Lišanský Brook is evaluated as moderately modified. The entire river basin is an intensively farmed landscape that has been affected by inappropriate anthropogenic modifications. To improve the current unsuitable stream conditions, it would be convenient to apply complete restoration measures on Lišanský Brook. Vodohospodářská revitalizace a ochrana před povodněmi

Projekt řeší problematiku provádění protipovodňové ochrany prostřednictvím komplexní vodohospodářské revitalizace území. Vodohospodářskými revitalizacemi se rozumějí opatření ve vodních tocích a jejich nivách, plně nebo z části odstraňující nepříznivé změny způsobené dřívějšími technicky pojatými vodohospodářskými úpravami. Projekt je řešen za pomoci literární rešerše, dálkového průzkumu země, geografických informačních systémů, srážkoodtokových modelů a katalogu retenčních prvků v krajině.

Zpráva vyhodnocuje hydrologické charakteristiky povodně ve všech povodní zasažených povodích. Zhodnocuje změny krajiny a úpravnost vodních toků a posouzen jejich vliv na průběh povodní v modelovém povodí Otavy. Byly posouzeny možnosti, jak navrhovat konkrétní opatření ke zvýšení retence vody v dílčích malých povodích s odlišnými geografickými podmínkami. Byl připojen ještě odhad historického zkrácení říční sítě. Byla konfrontována distribuce vody v krajině před a po povodni v roce 2002 ve vztahu k retenční vodní kapacitě půd. Byl monitorován povodňový stav před povodní provedené revitalizace vodních toků. Byly vyhodnoceny možnosti využití změn v korytech toků vyvolaných povodní jako revitalizačního opatření.
